Guys, Scott is completely right about this not being the right platform to make a big announcement (and it not being his announcement to make). If he can't keep it Dirt Cup (i.e. 100% Frank) on a show on his network hosted by his wife and his long-time friend, when can he? Anyway, super fun episode for all the reasons discussed. Always nice to hear Scotty freed from the shackles of host duty.

Episode 210 — Holistic Movie Reviews
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Affirmation Nation with Bob Ducca
Fucking great. I'm just disappointed that they didn't mention how much "Babadook" sounds like "Bob Ducca" since it's all I can think of every time I hear it. -
On that note, is everyone else as delighted with the Inherent Vice commercial as I am? They appeared together on "Snowpants", which is a live long-form show put on by Benny Schwaz and others. It isn't recorded.

Given that the main discussion was longer than a typical PB episode, that whole thing felt really unnecessary, but it was fun enough. I can't say David's Wire impressions were "good", but they were good enough that I could immediately identify every character. I'm pretty sure what he (and it was indeed Jon) was saying when he was saying it's a 'joke' isn't the concept itself but the idea that we have it, i.e. that people are really intolerant of other religions, and that's the source of his animosity. Granted, freedom of religion really only has to do with the government (something that people who get backlash for saying stupid things don't understand about freedom of speech, either), so maybe that's what you're saying?

Yeah, I've been looking forward to it since it was announced for that live show. I don't think I've ever paid to watch a movie for HDTGM, so this might be my first.

The walls in my apartment complex are paper-thin, so my neighbors have asked me to keep my jizz-wail at a moderate volume.

I hope the lack of comments (even by TL standards) doesn't mean that Earwolfers haven't listened to this. One of the best ever. As usual, Jason is incredibly funny, disgusting, and charming.

Episode 327 — Bang! Bang! Into Your Mouth!
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
As Chelsea Peretti would say, the bit saturation was VERY high during Scott's intro, and I loved every second of it. Tremendous ep all around. My favorite Great BitTM was "He's been alone". -
Great stuff. Here's the "Milwaukee" video they discussed. Scharpling has directed videos for each before (and this is pretty similar in style), but this was directed by Daniel Ralston. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jE8me1PWgIo Coincidentally, their second video features (if you look closely) recent County guest April Richardson (and former CBB guest Susanna Hoffs):

Episode 168 — These Fat Crackers: The Final Battle
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
Totally. I've noticed with previous I4H appearances and the few Wild Horses performances I've seen/heard that she's incredibly good at doing uptight straight (wo)man characters. Her voice is perfect for it too, because she has a certain shakiness which sounds really funny when she's either tentatively or passive-aggressively responding to something. -
Episode 7 — It's Not Just Magic with Rick Glassman

Probably pretty accurate: -

Great capper to a great trilogy. I was skeptical when they introduced two new people because I thought it would get too crowded, but it totally worked with the format of these episodes since no one (the performers or listeners) needed to find their footing at the start of each scene like in a normal episode. -
Episode 7 — It's Not Just Magic with Rick Glassman
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
Working with Chris D'Elia on Undateable must have been great research for Rick to play this character. Very funny episode. Lauren definitely has a good grasp on how funny it is to create lists or to try to say something in unison in improv. -
Yeah, but ultimately, aren't all of Andy's character's horrible monsters? (Mostly I liked that he chose a relatively obscure character just because it made Jason say "You weren't even in the pilots".)

Just finished the episode, and while I initially wasn't crazy about the top two (not because they weren't great, just because it felt a bit much to have two from a series be the top two), I'm sold on it after hearing How the Bread is Made. Between the work that went into OGYD and the fact that they represent the culmination of 4+ years of great episodes, they definitely feel worthy.

"Is that why he can't commit suicide?" "[unintelligible] I guess so."

I guess it makes sense. If whatever metrics they use (sales, radio play, etc.) apply for 2014, then it can make it onto the 2014 rankings (and, in theory, I suppose a song could make it onto the rankings for multiple years). Like if a movie came out this Christmas, it could theoretically be one of the top box office hits of 2015 even though it would be a 2014 movie and eligible for 2014 awards.

Episode 209 — Christmas Ailments LIVE from UCB-Sunset
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Affirmation Nation with Bob Ducca
This was great, but I couldn't really get over how the crowd weren't completely losing their shit over the very idea of being presented with a Bob Ducca list in person. -
Real Murph, ghost Murph, GET ME OUTTA HERE! This was pretty incredible.

Awesome episode!
-
LOVED hearing about how the Technicality No Down Boo Over bread is made!
-
"Bed stores should let you go to sleep overnight." (Episode #BO2014.3)
-
Totally worth the wait. The Sklars and Jon riffing and busting each others' balls is just so goddam funny.

Episode 6 — The Skip Hardaway Show
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
Fair enough. I actually think that ONLY saying that would have been better, and that what he did say just convoluted it. With the other episodes, the premise was either pretty much inherent, or was easily established with a very brief intro.
