Nothing (in this clip or in the universe in general) beats Werner Herzog saying it. Expanding on this, these sorts of diversions are one of many wonderful things about the Scott/Paul pairing. The first instance of TNDBO is a perfect example of how Paul immediately finds a nugget of humor and jumps on Scott for saying something that's even slightly off.

This was so much fun, and I agree that they don't need guests at all. This episode is just begging for whoever has the GIVE ME YOUR BABY Memzoukas to re-post it.

Episode 6 — The Skip Hardaway Show
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
"How much?" on the front. "Who knows?" on the back. Agreed that this wasn't the strongest episode. My biggest problem was that I didn't really get the premise. "Skip" mentioned that he hosted a sports talk radio show, then there was a format change imposed on him...but I think at one point he did say it was a podcast rather than just keeping the idea that it was still talk radio. Maybe that was his coded way of saying he was fired, and this was what he was doing instead? But either way, what was the (intended) format and why was this person picked as a guest? Ultimately it just felt like really well-performed improv that was only occasionally funny, which I think is fine once in a while. -
"Hey, come into work." "Can't. Space." "Checked out" Howard is the peak of comedy. Sight-unseen top 5 of the year, Christmas-themed porn search phrases, Hawking confusion, all pure gold.

My new favorite off-mic PFT sound is when he does this loud "D'oh" sort of groan when someone says something particularly stupid-funny.
-
"The eponymous Kraken?" "Fuck you!"
-
When they were introduced, do you think Paul said "Nice to meet you, Mr. Marshall", just to set the bait?
-
"Alright, this is where I get off this bit bus." That Claudia/R. Shrift clip, and Paul's delight at it, was fantastic.

Episode 326 — 2014 Holiday Spectacular
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
That is terrifying. -
Before they talked about it here, it had never really occurred to me that he never does comedies, which does seem really weird given that he seems like he's pretty funny and doesn't take himself too seriously. Anyway, good episode.

Episode 166 — Deranged Penguin
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
Matt you're spoiling us with two (THREE?!) straight episodes with this group. Holy crap, what a great pair of episodes. -
A mere 15 minutes in, we get an extended discussion of Mildred & Patty Hill transitioning into the cantina theme. God bless us, every one. Two thoughts on the countdown/clips so far: - I probably didn't vote for "They're Twins, Jonah" based on the episode list because I wouldn't have remembered The Victor Podcast, but that would easily be in my top ten. - The origin of "Help Me, Rhonda"!

Happy A Capella Cantina Theme Eve, everybody! -
One of those segments also gave birth to the classic line WHY DON'T YOU EAT SHIT, JANET?

Given the context, I'm pretty sure that's what the joke was, and it was just transcribed incorrectly for the episode title.

Episode 208 — Making Love to the Moon

Well, hand-fucking, yeah. -
Episode 19 — U2 Holiday Special
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head
Same here. Between hearing the U2 version the other day, hearing part of that one on this show, and reading an article about the original version yesterday, I've had the song stuck in my head almost non-stop for three straight days, and more often than not I hear it as Scott's version. -
Variations on the name "Scott Aukerman"
Kickpuncher replied to Darbler Cheesegarbler's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
On Twooch yesterday, Brett gave Kulap some beer-flavored 'stard for Christmas and I believe he called it "Malt Lagerman". Generally, I always think they're funny when they're contextual like that. -
Episode 5 — Sister Speak with Sheila and Margo
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
^ Amazing Really funny episode, liked the slightly different vibe of having two hosts and all the different dynamics. -
Man, this was so great. Listening to it made me feel closer to these guys than to my own family.
-
Yeah, Gabrus talked about it on Totally Laime, sounds like a lot of fun. I've been looking for that episode but it seems like they don't re-run that show very much (which is weird for a cable network with limited original programming). I saw one episode with Jack McBrayer in Hawaii, and Lauren Lapkus (there shooting Jurassic World) and her husband Chris were in a segment.

But wasn't the coffin idea only brought up very shortly before Matt threw it to him? That's why it was so impressive to me.

Episode 19 — U2 Holiday Special
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head
Yeah, I had never heard that either (at least not that I remember). I think Scott mentioned that it was from CDR #20? Oh, here it is! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2LSaLQqXPU -
Whoa, I've never seen these. My favorite flavor is Cool Mint Chocolate (a very non-Summah flavor if Howard's gum classifications apply to Clif Bars), so this should be right up my alley.

Holy shit, that opening scene was incredible. They built up to the offensive joke so much, and then Matt went real hard on the specifics in a way that made it seem impossible to pay off, but Gabrus totally knocked it out of the park.
