Hang in there.
Kickpuncher replied to jakefogelnest's topic in The Fogelnest Files with Jake Fogelnest
Jeff didn't move to New York. It's also a different situation since Jeff's show was always a monthly(?) live show which would have to take breaks from releasing podcasts in order to bank episodes even if he was steadily recording them. -
Bonus Twooch! Honestly, I probably liked this more than I would have liked a regular episode with Eric Andre. Anything that lets us peel more layers from the beautiful onion that is Howard Kremer, I'm all for it, BE IT regular chart entires, BE IT Tweet Chart questions, or BE IT a Shark Tank scenario.

Great, thanks. Not an iTunes user.

So, is this ever going to be available?

Episode 19 — U2 Holiday Special
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head
I woke up this morning, and the first song I heard on the radio (at least that I was conscious enough to remember) was "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" by the lovable lads from Liverpool, then I went to download Affirmation Nation and found this, and my mind was blown. Needless to say, the episode did not disappoint. Scott, Scott, and Naomi at the Forum is basically going to be a re-enactment of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOCaL6TUI3s -
Yes! I don't usually (i.e. ever, unless there's an interviewee I really want to see) watch the show, so I don't know what the crowds are usually like, but I was kind of taken aback by the one applause break.

Kyle was also on Seth Myers last night doing stand-up. The clip is on the NBC site if anyone cares to find it (or just check Kyle's tweets).

The Soundcloud link for this has been down all day.

Good episode despite the relative lack of nonsense.

Hmm...I would guess it's Brendon, minus the hat and plus a hoodie from the main group photo. The shirt looks the same. -

Holy fuuuuck, this was so good. Like, 2 1/2 of non-stop smiles on my face. Every time things started to slow down even a tiny bit, hey, here's another amazingly funny person. This line absolutely destroyed me. When they were talking about contractions in song titles, was anyone else hoping Scott would say "IT HAS BEEN"? As I mentioned in the U2 /Rolling Stone thread, The Both was my favorite album of the year, so having them perform was a real treat. (Also, I'm glad that Ted recognizes that eponymous and titular are not exactly synonymous as Scott seems to think.) That said, with those two and PFT there, they were SO CLOSE to fulfilling my lifelong seven-month-long dream: https://twitter.com/...582717024530432 -

Episode 99 — A View To a Kill: LIVE
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
This was amazing, and worth watching this dumpster fire of a movie. I love that it was almost two hours long and they BARELY discussed the last half-hour of the movie. On that note, OMISSION - During the blimp talk, they didn't mention the funniest blimp-related thing, and possibly the funniest thing overall in the movie, which is that while Tanya Roberts is happily watching after Bond escapes from the mine, the blimp SNEAKS UP ON HER and they grab her and take her up into the air. I don't think the "Jenny Flex"/genuflects pun is necessarily a blowjob reference, just that, as a woman, she's obviously subservient to men, because it's a James Bond movie. [side note - I looked this actress up on IMDB, and she played Elsa in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, so props for moving up in the world from third henchwoman of a Nazi science baby to top henchwoman of an actual Nazi.] Regarding "St. John", this is apparently a semi-common old-timey British name, and it really is pronounced that way. Of course, I know this because there was a character on Mad Men a few years ago named St. John Powell, which led to similar bafflement and discussions on the Internet.- 200 replies

If this episode had been five seconds long, and nothing but Ku and Stard each doing "IT'S BEEN", I'd give it an A+. Everything else was a wonderful bonus.

Episode 164 — Rudeness with Sassy Bluff
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
The guest segment was really good, and I genuinely love that Matt's endgame was to justify "Matty B runs Case Closed". FWIW, I think the "feminist" comment was just an awkward way of getting to the point that there are cases (like telling a woman that she has a nice smile) where men and women really should behave differently because of how their actions will be perceived. -
Three things: 1) If I like a person and I like a movie, I want that person to like that movie if they see it. Like, I genuinely don't want Howard to spend 4 hours and $47 on an experience he doesn't enjoy. 2) There are plenty of garbage movies out there to make fun of. 3) I don't know how much stock anyone puts into Howard's opinion, but if he's recommending that people don't see a good movie based on false assumptions, that's bad. (Also, I did say that I like it 99% of the time that he does this and that this was a great episode, so it's not like I have a huge problem with it.)

If Brett ever takes improv classes at UCB, I hope he gets to skip two levels based on his performance here. -
The thing that annoys me is his repeated insistence that you have to understand string theory to enjoy Interstellar. You know, because the idea of worm holes hasn't been addressed in dozens of other TV shows and movies, and wasn't explained in very simple terms in Interstellar. So I guess this movie has made $500M+ off of people who have advanced degrees in one specific area of physics, or were left unsatisfied.
