Episode 182 — Fantasy Baseball/Neurosis
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Professor Blastoff
"So what would you call it?" "Unlistenable." Fucking Pardo, man. He's so good at banter and had such great chemistry with everyone that I had zero problem with them abandoning the topic (not to mention that it's a topic where most of the listeners probably don't care about it, and judging by what we did get, those who do probably already know as much as Jimmy, or more). Such a fun episode. -

Weirdly, the two most notable Christmas songs featuring Bono have also been covered/parodied by Scott himself - "Halloween (ET Please Phone Home)" and the CDR all-stars version of "Do They Know it's Christmas?" The latter is particularly relevant now that there's been a 30th anniversary edition released, and apparently the lyrics to Bono's line have been changed. -
Really fun episode. Chelsea's special is great. I watched that and Wyatt Cenac's this weekend, and I really like the trend of doing something more elaborate than an hour of stand-up with maybe something extra at the beginning and/or end.

Episode 131 — Honorary Mayor of Hollywood

I love seeing characters from the podcast pop up on the TV show, but I thought Chip should have looked older, especially since he dresses almost identically to Forrest MacNeil. -
Episode 225 — Give Me the Award or Don't
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Sklarbro Country
Great ep, Jen is the coolest. -
Such greatness all around. I loved Kulap and Brett with the the classic "Oh, it's a ___" lukewarm getting a gift you don't really want but still putting in a genuine effort reaction to the Bride of Chucky set, and Howard immediately sniffing it out.

Episode 159 — Rainbow Bridge
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
Yeah, there was one a few weeks ago about hunting(?), and it sounded like this was the same person/show. Someone on here said that they were at the show and didn't want to say who it was, and now I'm really curious. I can understand why Matt doesn't want to say, but I don't think the audience is expected to be sworn to secrecy. -
Done and done.

MATTY B RUNS CASE CLOSED. The titular sketch was amazing. Great episode all around. -

Other than suicide, which is mainly a CBB thing, I feel like there are two major ones - international waters, and another one which I'm totally spacing on right now. -

Episode 203 — Why Not
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Affirmation Nation with Bob Ducca
That was great. I can't recall Huskey ever breaking before. -
I'm generally pretty spoilerphobic, but this is a very popular movie that's been out for six weeks, so it's not really that egregious IMO. I would also say that, because it's an actual good movie, it's perfectly enjoyable even if you already know that. Really loved this episode because it felt like classic Whooch, where they genuinely discussed all the chart entries and everything had plenty of room to breathe. Jaws is Better and the whole dynamic between Howard and Eddie is a goddam delight.

One good thing about this theme is that almost all of these movies will be airing somewhere on TV at some point in December.

u2's backing band underneath the stage
Kickpuncher replied to padraic's topic in U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head
Not sure where else to post this, but it deals with the band members, so... I was just doing a Sporcle quiz on various band line-ups, and I almost had to pause it because I started laughing when I got to U2. Unfortunately, it didn't include their proper names (Bonobos, Thedge, Larry Mullen Sr.'s Son, and Adam Claytwothousandpounds). -
So you were NUNDERCOVER...ed in puke.

Yes yes yes. This was so great. Between the subject matter and Flanny's accent, I could listen to hours of this. I really hope it finds its way into the ears of non-regular listeners, because I think most Earwolf fans and a lot of comedy fans in general would (or, I dare say, should) find this fascinating. Also, a nice supplement to I Was There Too at the end. (Side note - I've listened to every episode of PB and I'm fairly certain this is the first time Kyle has ever mentioned where he went to college.)
