Episode 17 — Songs of Innocence

Nailed it. If I had to name that photo, it would be "Big Mullen With Dreams of Being a Little Mullen". -
Actual earplugs, at least sometimes. This was such a fun, positive episode with everything going so well for everyone that it almost seems wrong that it's the start of non-Summah.

Yeah, when I heard about the Podfest deal, it seemed a little weird that they're asking people to pay for shows that have been available for free in previous years. I kind of doubt the podcasters would have collectively been OK with this putting a total lockdown on the shows recorded there, so hopefully it's just an extra revenue stream and a chance for fans to see video if they want it. That was a lot more innocuous than she made it sound. She might have been irked, but she's kind of laughing and it seems playful enough.

I love that Billy's kid voice sounds like Gene Belcher. -
We're all waiting with bated breath for your evaluation!

Yes! I knew there was a quote that I meant to post and forgot. That was a perfect Traci Reardon sentiment in disguise.
-
But seriously, they did announce that the guest for Podfest is Matt Jones (aka Badger on Breaking Bad). Seems reasonable to assume that will be next week's episode #200.

Jensen tweeted a screen shot of this, which is one of the most weirdly meta things I've ever seen.

Here's something that's at least tangentially about it: http://www.mommyish.com/2014/09/17/learning-play-basketball-adult-inspire-daughters/2/ Lauren Lapkus is on the same team and talks about it a bit on Twitter.

Why yes, of course multiple people signed up for forum accounts to complain about the slightly-less-than-optimal sound quality. Great episode.

Or, better yet, all of the Engineer Codys are trained to immediately play the song without Scott prompting it.

I'm not sure what you're getting at, but I guess I don't really think about 'favorite parts'. I mean, yes, for what it's worth, I think the YouTube clips are almost always funny, and almost always lead to good scenes. My point was that those segments (and music) are all similar in that they set up the improv; strictly speaking, you could say they take time away from the improv (as if Matt is constantly looking at a clock during the episodes in order to finish under a limit), but I (and others, based on every time this is brought up) think they add to it in a meaningful way. -
Here's a fun game for everyone who has the Hollywood Facts song inexorably stuck in their head - When you wake up in the middle of the night and it's literally the first conscious thing that comes into your mind (this may or may not have happened to me multiple times last night), see if you can still remember the lyrics exactly.

Holy shit...the fist half of this was a lot of fun, but the second half was absolute next-level C+ shit. I didn't think the hilarious idiocy of UTU2TM could ever be re-created, but here we are. I was psyched that they did What Am I Thinking?, because I just was listening to a bunch of clips on YouTube and one of them was the famous Aukerman/Pardo "Jizzum" round, and it had me lamenting how they never play it anymore. That said, I was a little disappointed that Andy and Todd didn't get that the obvious commonality between Bugs Bunny and Hot Dog is "Whats up?" Oh, and one other thing, Nice! Well it's Hollywood Facts and we're goin' downtown Goin' to Inglewood now Everybody do your facts and know your stars There's glitz and glamor and lot of bars Get a drink at a club Then go walk in front of Chinese Theater Hollywood Facts Take out your dick Check out the facts, it's the Hollywood Facts Bro!

Yeah, again, this is not an objective truth. The same could be said for Case Closed, Crap on YouTube, etc. -
I agree that the reaction has been a bit much, but the issue is the misogynist undertones, not the cursing.
-
Yeah, I almost posted about that but then figured it wasn't worth it. I'm pretty sure he actually guessed $2500 (1100/700/700), but that still seems outrageously high.

Interesting. I think he thinks he's super likeable, otherwise he might be content with being "just" a filmmaker rather than a "personality".

Yes! When I went to bed last night, it was getting close (something like $102K) and had made a lot just in the last few hours, so it was looking good. It was really nice to see how many of Kulap's (and Earwolf's) friends were getting the word out for the final push.

If Lauren and her husband call each other 'baby', I really hope she sometimes does it in the Traci Reardon voice.

Episode 152 — High-Pitched Cavemen

Shit, I knew I was probably getting something wrong there. I got mixed up somewhere along the line when I was thinking about how orangutans are comfortable with jet-skis since we all come from the water. -

One of the best clips and ensuing scenes ever. I love how they went through all these biological and linguistic machinations to reach the conclusion that they basically sounded like the exact thing that they were, i.e. a species in between apes and modern humans.
