Episode 151 — Joey Cape’s One Week Records
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
That would be awesome. I was hoping he and Aimee Mann would be on CBB when their album came out earlier this year. -
Super funny episode. Also, super funny thread. You guys are killing it. (EDIT - The Tiny version of the plug bag theme blew my mind, but I guess since the donor thank you was right before that, both of those must have been recorded recently and edited in.)

Hang in there.

Jake said "a few more weeks" two months ago, and I don't think he's mentioned it at all on Twitter lately. I'm starting to feel the opposite of relief and wondering if it's ever actually going to come back. -
Episode 17 — Songs of Innocence

U2 Has a Secret Plan to ‘Save the Music Industry’ http://www.vulture.com/2014/09/u2-has-secret-plan-to-save-the-music-industry.html Of course they do. Sounds like good fodder for an episode, whenever it's revealed. -
I'm not a fan of Buzzfeed, but the only thing that genuinely annoyed me in this episode was Louis saying that they don't do round numbers because it annoys people. Cool goal, Buzzfeed.

They showed a photo he took, and you could clearly see a table in the background which definitely didn't look like the studio table.
-
It was originally called "All You Need is Kill", which is much worse than either.
-
So if the next show is Glitter, what was the other movie they did on the 7/19 live show with Staying Alive? I know Paul mentioned it on the show, but I can't find it listed anywhere.

AB4%, gone but not forgotten. Great episode!

Great episode, loved the Chili's deep dive.

Episode 14 — Staind Glass
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head
I somehow missed that Yellow Submarine clip the first time it was posted. So funny. -
hey you fuckers
Kickpuncher replied to katexmachina's topic in U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head
Did they discuss that on the Rattle & Hum episode? Makes me laugh every time. If I had a band, I would want to do a cover of Helter Skelter just so I could intro it by saying "This is a song U2 stole from Charles Manson, so we're stealing it back." -
I would have said Honeywell. (They don't actually make blenders, but it's a big manufacturing company that makes electro-mechanical devices, so it's close enough, and it fits the riddle.)

Pretty much everything in that episode is a Beatles reference. So maybe the first time you heard about U2 was when you saw the Simpsons episode "Trash of the Titans". -
The name of the REM podcast could be...
Kickpuncher replied to Drakkar Jaune's topic in U Talkin' Talking Heads 2 My Talking Head
I'd listen 8 times, plus the Shiny Happy Podcast Commentary Special twice. -
I know! It was so funny that Scott mentioned that character earlier in the episode, but apparently forgot that part. Anyway, really fun episode. I don't know if Pam came in with the idea of the siblings (loveable lads and lasses from Liverpool?) dying in various gruesome ways (I'd guess not), but it was a really good running gag.

Episode 216 — Steven Soderbergh Directed This
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Sklarbro Country
"Juanito" isn't equivalent to "little Johnny", because "Johnny" is already the diminutive of John. Anyway, good episode, always love me some Gumbel. -

To be fair, there's a decent chance that the interview was conducted on Monday.
-
Oh, so it needed to have MORE stuff going on and be LONGER than 140 minutes? Cool.

Just saw this. Yeah. No bueno. Billion-dollar idea - Re-re-boot of Spider-Man where it takes place in the 1960s and the characters wear colorful costumes and it's fun.

The uncharacteristic quickness and clarity of purpose with which Howard said "Wrong song, Cody, you're back in the shithouse" absolutely destroyed me.

Episode 93 — Staying Alive: LIVE!
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
Cool, thanks. I actually checked to see if it was on Netflix (now seeing that it's a pilot rather than just a movie, I see why it's not). I think I can handle 90 minutes of a shitty movie, but not in shitty YouTube quality. -
Episode 93 — Staying Alive: LIVE!
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
Whoa! I was not aware that existed, or more likely (given that this was apparently right around my peak comic fandom), was VERY aware, and forgot in the intervening 18 years. -
Episode 151 — Joey Cape’s One Week Records
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
Oh cool, these guys are on (IT'S BEEN) One Week Records. Glad to hear that Affirmation Nation will be weekly. I (perhaps stupidly) stopped listening to the original version, partially because it got annoying to listen to the same intro and outro every day (or worse, several times in a row if I was catching up on episodes) when they were collectively longer than the original content of a lot of episodes.
