  1. I've been listening to a bunch of old U2 this week, and I got to Rattle & Hum today. Maybe it's just me, but for me, nothing U2 does will ever be funnier than in "Silver and Gold", when Bono says "This song was written in a hotel room in New York City, right around the time a friend of ours, Little Steven, was puttin' together a record of artists against Apartheid." (Go to 4:25)
  2. So you're saying that Mildred & Patty Hill aren't just a couple of miserly old crones, they're also THIEVES? It's a testament to how many Great Bits this episode had that we're 4 pages in and no one has even mentioned the (t-shirt-less) package from Ol' Sourpuss! More like Ol' Generouspuss, right?

Episode 93 β€” Staying Alive: LIVE!

In the C&O department, they kept referring to the British actress (and her character, who was apparently named Laura) as "Fiona" Hughes, but it's actually Finola. Also, I'm pretty sure the Squarespace slogan is "A better Web starts with your website", and Paul keeps saying 'website' twice.
  4. I just (basically) blew off work for 2 1/2 hours to listen to this, totally worth it. I was hoping for more sub-podcasts, but the abundance of dick and butthole talk made up for it. Unless he shops at some fancy TV star store, I'm pretty sure I have the shirt that Adam Scott is wearing, so that made me feel pretty cool. (This has been "Talkin' 'Bout Fashion".)

    Episode 309 β€” Tony Macaroni

I can't remember if it was on CBB or NNF, but at some point within the last year or so, Scott and Jimmy discussed the phrase "No soap, radio." I think their conclusion was that it doesn't really mean anything and was just some weird old inside joke type thing.
  6. UPDATE Jessica St. Clair ‏@Jessica_StClair I may have recorded the first episode of the Womp It Up! podcast today. Only @lennonparham can confirm or deny. #turnaround #wompitup

Episode 197 β€” No Bueno From Tip To Taint

I resumed reading that Schlitterbahn article, and there are two really obscure Earwolf coincidences: - It mentions one of the main figures meeting with a guy from Disney named Rolly Crump (seriously), whom Ken mentioned on today's Nerd Poker. - One employee mentioned several times is named Rick Faber, which is also the name of the annoyed teenager character that Neil Campbell plays on an episode of CBB (and the origin of the name and character is discussed on the CBB Season 2 DVD commentaries).

Episode 197 β€” No Bueno From Tip To Taint

Yes! I can't remember a first-time guest who immediately caught onto the vibe so well. I read half of that Grantland piece today, and it's really good. More about waterparks in general (at least so far), so I'm sure Howard would like it despite his nemesis being a major part of it. And don't worry Cody, whatever the hell you're doing adds to the entertainment value of the show rather than detracting from it. I feel confident that Howard and Kulap are nice enough and professional enough that they wouldn't call attention to it if they didn't feel the same way (and knew that you can handle the ribbing).

    Episode 172 β€” Conspiracies

That I didn't particularly enjoy this episode since it largely amounted to complaining. In fairness, I guess I should applaud Burr for recognizing that Fox News is BS even though he seems (to me, and I admittedly am not particularly familiar with him) to be right in their target demo and to share a lot of their views.

    Episode 172 β€” Conspiracies

Fox News is a bunch of liars, but seriously, being a middle-aged white man with money is the WORST, right guys?

Episode 93 β€” Staying Alive: LIVE!

    "Oh, heavens no."
  12. Do I dare to dream that this means a Wompler/Listler podcast is on the horizon? Jessica St. Clair ‏@Jessica_StClair Have a love question you want Marissa "Womp it Up" Wompler and Charlotte "Chardog" Listler? Email us at wompupthejamz@gmail.com! #nodongpics
  13. I don't know, at some point, you have more money than you can ever possibly spend, so what's another $25M going to do? There are plenty of rich actors who turn down big-money roles for stuff that's more artistically fulfilling.

    Episode 309 β€” Tony Macaroni

I wonder if Ol' Witchcraft and Ol' Sourpuss ever did a collabo?

    Episode 309 β€” Tony Macaroni

It didn't! It was VERY delayed, but Jimmy let out a trademark "HA!" at it. Anyway, this was so delightfully stupid. Nick and Claudia are really funny together. I thought only Horatio Sanz was capable of that level of character work.

    Episode 196.5 β€” 9/05/14 TWO CHARTED 135

I think he said that he does always show up, he just doesn't call back to confirm. My dental office does the same thing, and it's annoying. Ultimately, the call just serves as a reminder, so it's fine, but I don't know why someone would bother calling back (unless they wanted to cancel) when it literally makes no difference. I didn't entirely get his point, but it has something to do with the dentist having the power to diagnose procedures that may or may not really be necessary, so I think Howard's point is that this is his way of taking some of that power back?

    Episode 196.5 β€” 9/05/14 TWO CHARTED 135

Summahtology is spreading! Mindy Kaling ‏@mindykaling September is a summer month, not a fall month, I have been thinking this for years but never said it aloud because it's boring

    Episode 196.5 β€” 9/05/14 TWO CHARTED 135

Indirectly, yes, but probably more directly a play on the movie Summer of Sam.

    Episode 194.5 β€” 8/22/14 TWO CHARTED 133

I experienced two major How To Act violations within about 15 minutes today. First, I was walking down the street and a guy IN A SUIT who was walking towards me spit. Not even off to the side on the grass, but straight ahead on the sidewalk. Then, I went to a movie, and was the first one in the theater. Another guy came in (he turned out to be the only other one there, and this was like 1 minute before showtime, so it's not like he thought it might get crowded), and sat in the same row as me, three seats away. Basically the urban version of Howard's beach spacing rule.

    Episode 196.5 β€” 9/05/14 TWO CHARTED 135

Salty Howard is the best Howard. Also, I was really glad that this was a nice, long episode. Usually a short Whooch means a short Tooch because they're pressed for time, but I guess in this case either Jay was the one with the tight schedule, or the show was just naturally that short.

    Episode 196.5 β€” 9/05/14 TWO CHARTED 135

I'm not going to be able to pay attention to the last 83 minutes of this, because I'm way too excited after hearing that.
  22. I always wondered what it would sound like if Don DiMello and the ghost of Michael Jackson trained to be characters at Disneyland.

"Dips." "Ew." "Toobs." (Version of this conversation with an interjection from a pro-spitting athlete.)

    Episode 196 β€” Power Stache

Pretty sure he has. I've definitely heard someone say that, and I honestly can't think of anywhere else that I've heard that song discussed.

    Episode 196 β€” Power Stache

I love that Kulap couldn't pull "Twilight".
