Episode 283 — The 5th Anniversary Show!
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
Holy shit...The first half of this was great, but starting with PFT's entrance, it was absolute next-level AMAZING. I was laughing almost non-stop the entire time. Episode of the Year for me, hands down. The senitment-off somehow caught me by surprise, and just hearing everyone crack up in the background was so much fun. -
I'm glad Brett pointed out Howard's weird count-in method. Classic Howard. I like how each of these episodes without Ku has had its own unique vibe. Good stuff all around.
-
Yes! I had the exact same thought. I always try to guess which answer is from which guest, and that one seemed like a dead giveaway.

I hear ya, and maybe it's just me, but for me, Scott's comprehensive and encyclopedic delineation of a character's background is almost always extremely funny.

Episode 9 — Slowing It Down

God, this episode was amazing. Simultaneously the most ridiculous and funniest two hours I've heard in (it's been) a while. -
Awesome episode. This felt like Whooch in its purest form, cursory discussions of the chart entries branching into really interesting/fun discussions. Uncle Boonlorm should become an Uber driver.

You take the blood, you go to the lab, you test it and you see if you have the Celiac, the Celiac. Fun episode. I was kind of surprised by the topic since it's so specific and semi-obscure, and I can see why it wouldn't be interesting to a lot of people, but this was right up my alley. It was ironic how the most scientific part of the process was (jokingly) referred to by David as "magic" which he has no interest in understanding (for the record, it's really not complicated).

It didn't occur to me until I listened, but the "erotic thriller" genre is pretty much perfect for Jason; if anything, I wish he would have creeped it up even more. So, can anyone who saw the movie weigh in on the hand/baseball mitt chair debate?

Great episode fitting of the big occasion. For some reason, I was just thinking about the Sklars and PFT discussing "Fluffy" like two days ago, so seeing him as the guest was awesome. Garry dropping by was a nice surprise which made up for my disappointment at Paul not going into his Werner Herzog earlier. Yeah, that seems insane. I'd be fine with drinking water if someone peed into 100 gallons of it let alone 38 million (especially considering that it must go through some sort of processing between a reservoir and people's faucets).

I agree, but he said "Danny Mahoney"! That was definitely the impression I got. In the words of Paul Rust "Um, yeah."
-
I think it was called "Cum Forrest, Cum!"

Best High Vitale segment ever.

If it makes you feel better, he started this week's episode by saying "This episode of Doug Loves Movies is brought to you by Square Space, the all-in-one hosting solution that doesn't give you cancer." -

"I don't think their marriage is going well" KILLED me. Fantastic episode. -

I genuinely love this podcast and laughed out loud several times during this episode, but OF COURSE this was my single favorite moment. -
Yep, I said the same thing in last week's thread. This is the third straight week where he's said it! I hope Ku sets the record straight when she gets back. Anyway, really fun episode. Jeff is always great on I4H, and this is the only other exposure I've had to him; it's nice to go a bit off the beaten path of frequent podcast guests sometimes. Natasha's sense of humor is a perfect fit on Whooch.

This was really interesting, good job by Rob and Corey. Will anyone be surprised if a 'new' episode with Aaron gets released six months from now?
-
Oh, I was totally kidding about the Kulap thing. Don't feel too bad, we've got plenty of free stuff to occupy our ears every day, largely thanks to you.

Maybe it's just me, but for me, Brett is a person. Leo Buscaglia has now been mentioned on two Earwolf shows in the last month.

Episode 1406 - Rich Sommer

I'm late to the party on this one, but weirdly, Leo Buscaglia was referenced on The Americans just a couple weeks before this was released. -
Hollywood, 2015 - The cast and production staff of Fox's classic sit-com "New Girl", now in its 14th season, took a break from shooting today to celebrate the first occurrence of a podcast host referring to the show's title without a superfluous "The" preceding it.

Yeah, as if The Wire isn't confusing enough right from the beginning, he managed to make it even more confusing. Am I crazy, or were the backing vocals on the newly-recorded Tweet Chart theme done by Ku and Mary-Elizabeth Ellis-Day? This was the second episode where Howard claimed that it was Alice Wetterlund.

Episode 7 — Zooropa

Thanks a lot, but honestly, I'm not crazy about that design, and probably wouldn't wear it much if at all either. I just wanted the sweet taste of victory!
