Episode 74 — Boss Ass Bitch
Kickpuncher replied to JulyDiaz's topic in The Fogelnest Files with Jake Fogelnest
I give this episode 4 swastikas. -
Forgot to mention it earlier, but Old Seinfeld is a great new character.
-
Fair enough, but the Razzies aren't for the most 'disappointing' movies.
-
That hasn't even started shooting yet!
-
Great episode, gotta love Horatio. The titular exchange was gold.
-
Wow, I never realized the similarity. No, it's (perhaps not surprisingly) Kickpuncher, a fictional action movie hero from Community.
-
Cool Bart Simpson poster.

This episode had me wwWWALKING ON AIR! Teach, a riddle/poem, What's Nuts?, and, dare I say it, America's NEW Favorite Fun Game? Amazing.

OK, as long as we're deep-diving on technical audio issues... I'm not crazy about speeding up comedy podcasts because I feel like it ruins the comedic rhythms and timing, but I've found something like 1.1x is fine, even if the time savings are pretty minimal. On my laptop, I just use Windows Media Player. For some reason, ONLY Earwolf podcasts have an annoying click whenever I speed them up. Has anyone else experienced this? Also, is there a good, free Android media player that has speed control?

This was so much fun, Jake is great for the County. I didn't expect to hear the showering, smoking guy clip at all let alone so early in the episode, and it was awesome how much the Sklars are still amused by it.

List of Scott's Frequently Repeated Phrases

"My former girlfriend, who I married" (and similar variations) -
I'm pretty sure you're right; I looked it up and CC are from California. Really good episode, one of my favorite interviews/guests in a while. When I first saw that pro shop video, I just assumed that the guy fell down from a higher floor indoors (like it the clubhouse was above the pro shop) rather than the outside roof. Either way, pretty hilarious. Quick Takes was amazing when one phrase led into a SUPER enthusiastic five-minute wrestling discussion.

Damn, those are amazing! I love the character/player combination idea.
-
I don't think it's really a mystery at this point, even if Tig continues to not openly acknowledge it. On the other hand, yeah, too bad about Kyle and Sarah. And Aaron's car!

Really fun episode. A break from the usual format is nice once in a while. The only times I really missed Kulap was when Howard said something crazy and Nick (and Brett) just didn't give up the belly laughs like Ku would.

Holy shit!

It's pretty clear that she took Advanced Peanuts.

Episode 73 — Baristas With Lorde Haircuts

Jake's voice when John says "We're in talks with Jamie Farr." -
By the way, the Kroll Show premiere was great. Jenny is SO funny in Publizity (it's based off their names).

Yep, that was fantastic. I love that in his one appearance of the year where Paul isn't playing a character, he still manages to create a character. The opening prom discussion and closing adage-off were both gold. Also gold - pretty much everything in between.
-
Did anyone else get a very Garry vibe when she said "IT HAPPENS!"? I don't know if it was intentional or not, but Howard paraphrased "What's That, Huh?" when they were discussing Gilly's obstacle course strategy.

My favorite actress on my favorite podcast? Yes please!

I'm pretty sure that some people echoed his earlier taunt by shouting "NERD!" at him, hence the reaction. Anyway, yeah, this episode was amazing, possibly the best ever. Harmon is pretty much a perfect guest between his specific sense of humor, his propensity to go on crazy rants, and his knowledge of screenwriting. I think that post-credits scene he mentioned was laying the foundation for Rise of the Guardians. I loved in the intro when Paul asked "Would you like to say anything to the audience, June?" and she said "Good evening, Paul." That last Second Opinion HAD to be fake. (Not saying it's not on Amazon, just that it's not a true story.) I wouldn't exactly count it as an omission since Jason off-handedly mentioned winning the big game at the end, but they barely touched on the hockey aspect here, and there was SO MUCH HOCKEY in this movie. As I alluded to in the minisode thread, they were CONSTANTLY talking about that fucking "J-shot"; I bet it was said at least 25 times. It's kind of hard to categorize the movie, and honestly, "Sports Movie" would fit just as well as any other genre/label.

Randy Moss's dog caught me by surprise. Bravo.

I'll extend that to the more general idea that it makes me think about The Big Bang Theory, which I'd prefer to never do.
