    Episode 136 — A Nye For A Nye

Great show, guys. "Mark Few is the demon leader of the underworld" is one of the funniest lines to ever grace the calming shores. Good stuff from Glaser, too. "Punderdome" sounds amazing. Regarding the Li'l Wayne thing: 1) I don't think his gesture was "finger guns", but rather some sort of "I have a gun" gesture, like maybe pantomiming starting to pull one out of his waistband. 2) There are a ton of events during All-Star weekend in the same city as the All-Star Game which are not sanctioned by the NBA (just like Super Bowl weekend), so he must have been performing at one of these. Sorry to hear about your family's loss, Randy. I think it was coincidental since the Glaser interview seems to have been taped earlier, but hearing the Sklars and Glaser lovingly discuss their kids a lot on this show was a nice counterpoint to that opening.

    Episode 117.5 — 3/1/13 TWO CHARTED 56

Oh, cool. Typing "no one has done it since" was one of those things where I was 90% sure that I was wrong as I was doing it, yet I just went with it anyway.

    Episode 117.5 — 3/1/13 TWO CHARTED 56

The main thing I remember is that the headlights turned with the steering wheel (so, basically, they'd always point in the same direction as the front wheels rather than the body, which would be better for curves/turns), which seems like a good idea, but must not be since no one has done it since. But that would definitely qualify as a pretty revolutionary idea, so Howard's point was valid even if he had the specifics wrong.

    Episode 117.5 — 3/1/13 TWO CHARTED 56

Yep, this was amazing. That was definitely it. Granted, it's been ~15 years since I've seen that movie, but I don't think there were electric (or any sort of alternatively fueled) cars involved.

Episode 203 — The Vicar of Yanks

    Very sorry, Mr. Marshall.
  6. Another great episode. "Mattress City" was amazing. Good clip choices.

Episode 203 — The Vicar of Yanks

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing when Scott started asking ALW about Garry Marshall.

Episode 117 — LIVE from SF Sketchfest 2013

That was weird. I kind of can't believe that Kulap doesn't know that, so the only explanation I could think of was that it was brought up in reference to Brainerd, where the movie Fargo took place. I agree that the live shows don't feel quite right, but I thought this one overcame that more than some of the others. I think that Ku and Wie just have a certain rhythm that they're used to in the studio, and trying to adapt that to play to a live crowd messes with things a little.

Episode 117 — LIVE from SF Sketchfest 2013

In non-troll news... Howard's Shredstaurant pitch has really improved since he first introduced it. This one was great. During the "Koala" talk, I'm surprised Howard didn't plug his appearance on Rafflecast. It was weird that the "top movie monkeys" list didn't include anything from the Planet of the Apes series (I kind of thought Caesar from "Rise of" would be #1, hence the SF connection). If the reasoning was that those are apes rather than monkeys, that doesn't really fly, because King Kong (possibly others, don't remember the full list) is an ape, too. Showalter was awesome at Chart Pinata. I know they've had repeat guests, but the original formula final chart is way better than "other famous _ _'s".

    Episode 56.5 — Minisode 56.5

Yep, that super-cut was fucking incredible.Thinking about how I'll never do anything that good...it makes me upset.

Episode 203 — The Vicar of Yanks

Yes! I forgot to mention it yesterday, but I think PFT broke the record for most intense off-mic laughter during the set-up to their "shouting across the table" bit.

    Episode 93 — Youth

Which improv comic was playing "Daniel"? Felt more like a CBB sort of thing, but still pretty good.

Episode 203 — The Vicar of Yanks

I'm really impressed that Scott was able to book the Vicars of Christ and Yanks in consecutive weeks. Like every other PFT appearance, this was ridiculously fun. I could listen to Scott and ALW riff back and forth 24 hours a day and never get tired of it.

Episode 135: Loads of Lady Energy

I think, even aside from that gaffe, she was just on SNL before she was ready for it. She had her moments, but never really jumped out at me like some new cast members do on that show. She's been great on every podcast I've heard her on the last few years, and is always good in actual performance stuff like Kroll Show and Girls. It was funny when Jenny asked if it was OK to swear. I know the Sklars usually try to keep it to a minimum, but that was never going to happen on an episode with 1) a discussion of saying "fuck" on network TV, and 2) Leykis as a character. I wish we could have heard Leykis interact with Jenny, but he was still great, as always.

Preferably with "mother" in front of it as many times as possible.

    Episode 116.5 — 2/22/13 TWO CHARTED 55

Count me in for a trip to Kulap's Animatronic Alley.
  17. It's not a book, it's a SINGLE! It's SUPPOSED to be short!
  18. Speaking of Kulap, it was weird how Todd and Scott acted like Scott is single. Anyway, extremely weird, extremely funny episode.

    Episode 6 — Analyze Fish Pt. 2

    Hosted by "Craig"?

Episode 116 — Feel The Night

Did anyone else wonder why they played this for Zuckerberg? The only thing I can think of is "Facebook" -> "face" -> first song someone thought of with "face" in the title. I'm glad Brett got as much of a kick as I did out of "What hundreds was it?"

    Episode 6 — Analyze Fish Pt. 2

I would guess they recorded it back to back with Harris' appearance on Hooch, but the clothes Howard is wearing in the photos suggest otherwise. As for Scott, his role with Earwolf probably means he's around the studio more than the 90 minutes per week that he records CBB.
  22. Doing "What's Nuts?" with a live audience was a great idea. Really fun episode all around.

Episode 56 — Nothing But Trouble

Having thankfully not seen this movie, I was a little confused about something discussed at the end. Based on the scene with the Brazilians and Candy at the end, I got the impression that the Brazilians were in cahoots with Aykroyd & Co., and got Chase to get off the turnpike as a trap. So, was that... 1) not implied at all, and I'm reading too much into it? 2) implied, and the hosts got it, but just touched on it without explicitly saying it or digging deeper? 3) implied, and the hosts didn't get it? Other thoughts: - Was Rananazzisi the quietest guest ever? It didn't hurt the show at all, and I can understand how it could be hard to get a word in, but it was a little weird. - June's "Were they humans?", Jason's laughter, and the ensuing discussion was one of my favorite HDTGM moments ever.

    Episode 6 — Analyze Fish Pt. 2

Ooh, good call. The obvious answer is "Analyze Bat", in which Kulap or some other enterprising nerd tries to bring over a new convert to the Dark (Knight) Side.

    Episode 6 — Analyze Fish Pt. 2

Yeah, as soon as someone brought up the idea of other fish movies, that was the first one that came into my head because of the Scott connection, and I loved that they brought it up but immediately dismissed it and seemed to have no idea that he wrote it. Absolutely, although they may have already shot their wad with this show. PFT and Pete Holmes doing commentary for There Will Be Blood was fantastic.
