No, but I am an intellectual property lawyer. Frankly, I've always looked down on them for not being lawyers.

How is Mountain Dew able to get away with the 'kick start' name? Seems like a pretty blatant ripoff of Kickstarter but whatever.
Â
I'm no Legal Zoom, but I think, generally speaking, you can't really have a blanket trademark on an existing common phrase. An energy drink and a website are different enough that no one should confuse them, and Kickstarter can't reasonably say that Mountain Dew are trying to deceive people or evoke any connection between the two.

Fun show, the dual guests was a nice change of pace. The "second jump" concept should have (non-broken) legs. Gumbel is my favorite character, but it's just not the same without his catchphrase.

have they ever discussed this on the show?

(tweeted by the Sklar Brothers a couple of days ago, so many future podcasters!)
Â
I don't know if they've mentioned it on Hooch/Tooch, but I think it originally surfaced because Howard and Hardwick were on Doug Loves Movies together and talked about it there.

I think "Oh boy" ("Uh boy"? "Ew boy"? I never know how to express it in spelling, but I love it) is more of a Zouks phrase, but they've all adopted it.
-
I'm not at a point of saying it yet, but I definitely think it.

It was funny, but it would have been really amazing if Daly had just pulled that out without us having any idea what he was going to say. Matt's reaction was great.
-
Lately I've been resorting to calling it "Macgruber music"

Cake Boss went fishing for a "Doug was in Blade Runner" acknowledgement, but no one bit.
-
I must have missed that CSI - Two and a Half Men crossover episode.
Â
I must have missed it too. Also, every other episode of both of those shows.

MY WIFE!

I love that Doug (who loves movies) quickly pulled a movie that Zahn and McConaughey were in together.

OH no! Cake Boss is on CBB on Pi day!
Â
HE HATES PIE!!!
Â
He's really tempting fate here. I think we need a guest appearance by Chris Hardwick to bridge the Walking Dead/Pi gap.

Ha ha, "CAKE BOSS (cakeboss)" graphic.

Yes, Scott followed through on using the Twitter suggestion "I'll see you never at the library!"
-
In regard to my earlier Garry Marshall request, this whole Steven/Steve thing would be a PERFECT set-up for some good old-fashioned "PLEASE, call me Garry!"
-
I'm totally digging this walking dead talk
Â
Me too. They should call this episode "Talking Dead"!

Ackerman.

I think Malin Ackerman is...his wife.

How DARE Scott mention MASH before PFT gets there?
-
Oh no, PFT is stuck in traffic?
-
I hope PFT is playing Garry Marshall so that he can ask Yeun about zombies as per his cryptozoology hobby.
-
That public access intro/disclaimer was fucking incredible.

For those interested, the guests for tonight's VPN live show are Paul F. Tompkins, Doug Benson (who is making his first appearance in years) and Steven Yeun from The Walking Dead. Great line-up!
Â
Yep, this should be great. It's cool to see them book a funny actor who isn't known as a "comedic actor". Yeun was on Speakeasy with PFT this week, and talked about having done improv before (with "the other" Howard Kramer, funnily enough), so I'm sure he'll be good.
Â
I liked this episode a lot more than Monday's, too. Ventura is my favorite Adomian character, and when he showed up, I had forgotten that James was a guest on the show, so that was awesome.

Mitch's fight story is one of the funniest things I've heard in a long time.
Â
I'm starting to think that telling funny stories is what he does.
Â
Which would do better on Shark Tank, Shredstaurant or The Harpoonery?
Â
I wish Mitch would have discussed his powerhouse performance on "PubLIZity" and "Ice Dating", but this was still a lot of fun.

I brought this up in the live show thread when Steve was announced as the guest - I'm pretty sure he was referring to "the other" Howard Kramer, whom our Howie has mentioned a few times. I can't really find much info on that guy, but I don't think Kremer has done any significant amount of sketch/improv, and definitely not in Chicago (without watching it again, I think Steve said he started at IO in Chicago, not IO West in Hollywood). When PFT responds that he knows him, I think he was thinking of Kremer.
