Yeah, it's gotten kind of crazy around here. I think Jeff has gone power mad from all the reefer. Everyone now has to smoke angel dust before we can even enter the office. He has even started paying us in fake urine. I was there during the recording session where he blew PCP in Matt's face and forced him at knife-point to read the ad against his will. We were all pretty shaken up. I agree comedy podcasts, 4/20 holidays and smoking illicit dope doesn't mix AT all.

For these remote shows it is often times NOT one of us doing the recording. In this case the sound guy used some handheld device and basically just put it in the room. But often times the sound people are able to do what I request and record from the board (I always ask for an audience mic as well so you can hear the crowd). You never really know what you're going to get back though. I give the specs of what we need, but every venue is different and some live sound guys are more prepared than others. Any time we ourselves go out and record these live shows, we always have a direct feed from the mics as well as the crowd. I wouldn't say the audio quality of this show is the norm around here. I think headphones are definitely needed for this one. Sorry about that, I did what I could given the source audio.

well i can give you a hint: we often record thurs or fri in the morning. not always but often.

from an outsider's perspective, i kinda wish that fell on my head. would've been hilarious

these are great vids but so many of these are trying to be funny or are fake. unfortunately those types of videos just don't work well on the show, and are not what matt wants. also songs for the most part don't work so well (unless there's a really good context to them)

I miss it too. Mixing a new band every week was a lot of work, but rewarding. Really proud of the episodes we made.

This. Also the video setup requires us to record things louder and with a different signal chain, which throws off our normal system a bit. Fully adapting it beforehand to sound consistent with the rest of the podcasts is very difficult. But yes the headsets sounded a lot worse and had a big noise problem when they got bumped at all, but they looked better on screen probably. Not sure what we're doing going forward.
