I want to do an audio project that requires the involvement of near perfect strangers and I want those strangers to be exclusively sourced for the HH forums. About me: I produce talk radio professionally in LA. In my free time I do funny make-em-ups on youtube and sometimes on my website, here: http://www.treasurezine.com/ What I'd like to do is begin recording a weekly phone (internet) call between myself and people who I'm only superficially familiar with. The conversation would be structured this way: I propose something (not huge) for the person to do, that I think I could reasonably convince that person to do, taking into account their own wants and circumstances. We spend around ten minutes hashing out the pros and cons of undertaking such a task and they then they decide if they are going to do it. The next week we talk about how the thing went (or didn't went) and we start over. This continues weekly until they are fired, retire or quit, for reasons that will become evident throughout recording. The length of each session would be no longer than forty minutes including an unrecorded pre-interview before recording. Whoever wants to participate would need to be able to record relatively clean audio. I think it's a small enough commitment and it could be fun. The focus of the debate was narrow. I dislike Hillary, but I can't really express that without leaving the topic. Also, I'd have weakened my position by making any attacks on Clinton at this point in the primary. That said, any pretense of a debate was quickly abandoned as the entire segment shifted to a needlessly adversarial conversation with no clear sides to speak of. Shamp: I had expected to be arguing with Besser and you can hear the disappointment in my voice upon find out that I'd be going up against someone else. That said, no one ever told me that it would be with him and you know what they say about assumptions.

Sorry you didn't have a good time, but the woman I was on with, besides being a Clinton advocate, is a best selling author, a Harvard graduate and a columnist for the Huffington Post. Seems like not a dumb person.

Besser, You've made your dislike for Sanders supporters clear in recent episodes of your podcast. You do not think they are informed on the issues and you send your agents out, to record them, to let them make fools of themselves, so that you can be critical of them from behind several layers of snark and the security of your friends and a supportive audience. No more. I challenge you to a debate on your podcast. The topic of the debate "Why Matt Besser is wrong and should shut the fuck up." I'm willing to accept other topics if this one is too scary for you, or you fear might open too many eyes. I am a typical Sanders supporter and the perfect strawman for you to vent your correct opinion. Or so you would think, you out-of-touch old man. Refusal of my challenge earns you the title of "King of Coward County." I await your response.

Well, you might be listening to the wrong show. Matt has made a point of defending the "Case Closed" segment on a number of occasions.

I'm a fan of the show. I've listened to every episode and I try to come on the forums to point out my favorite things, which happens way more often than anything bordering on bad or not good. I couldn't finish this episode. In the first half, it seemed like the performers had a difficult time getting on one another's pages. Ideas were being introduced as fast as they were being abandoned, there were definite problems with listening. This is also the first time ever I didn't hear an audience not totally lose their shit over a call-back. Still, this and HH are my two favorite podcasts and I'm even bummed there's no episode today.

I've held my tongue on this for too long and it's gotten to the point where if I don't say something I'm gonna scream. Listen, Sean: you cannot abandon your catch phrase.
