I remember tweeting that Simpsons parody at PFT and Scott the day that best of came out. But not to say "You were thinking of the Simpsons version" but specifically to say "Well the Simpsons writers remember it that way too, they even talk about it on the episodes commentary." Everyone is dumb except me! Anyway I'm kind of feeling bad I haven't give them a Grandchild now. I would if I could.

Ha I just tweeted that to them. It's also worth pointing out that in the episode, the microphone can broadcast over any nearby radio. In the commentary for the episode, they reference it as a "commercial that was very popular in the 80's"

Episode 104 - Paul F. Tompkins, Scott Aukerman: Generations
Syme replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
This was insane even by the standards Auks, Tompkins and Lapkus have set. Thanks for the joy you've brought Lauren, and good luck with whatever it is your filming -
I've not posted on this forum for over 6 months, and the sign in thing remembered my name. So the more perplexing thing here is that you're manually typing in your username each time. Yep that's what I break my forum silence for. Everyone seems to have covered the weird angry misogynist guy.

Gilbert is great, there's jokes he does that make me wince sometimes, but it seemed like everyone was having fun. In fact I really enjoyed the fact that these comedians from different eras were making each other laugh so much.
-
So wait, what duck was Joe Wengert supposed to be in this episode?
-
Yeah I'm not a big fan but, I warmed to her a lot after this. She seemed very nice and was having fun.
-
I know it's funnier if Scott has to explain his mistake every week, but he could just play that theme at the beginning and start asking people to submit closing up the plug bag themes.
-
This is actually an insult. "You know that involuntary thing you do? Well it's better than when you're trying to be funny"
-
Really hope "Miyazaki Baby" continues as a running catchphrase.

Was kind of hoping Scarsdale would realize that the next clue is at The White House

Episode 1615 - Lauren Lapkus
Syme replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Never Not Funny: The Jimmy Pardo Podcast
Always wanted to hear more from Lauren out of character, so this was great. -
When Lauren Lapkus' character mentioned she'd seen every movie, that should have prompted Scott to ask "Even Blue Jasmine?" And it would turn out to be the one film she hadn't seen.
-
That's not what I meant at all. It's something I can relate to where you love something so much you want to get everyone into it, but then realize enthusing about it all the time just puts people off, or they just aren't interested.

I've listened to a few HH episodes and thought they were alright, then looked in forum thread and there were about 200 comments from people posting in-jokes and memes at each other. I think it being one of the less popular shows on earwolf has created some very dedicated fans, but this enthusiasm ends up having the effect of being slightly alienating to newcomers. I'm sure it's something I would get if I persisted more, but I don't really have the need for more podcasts right now.
