I do like that we've had all female line-ups on the show (apart from Matt of course) with no need to address the fact that it's an all female line-up. Which I guess I've just done. Anyway it was another great episode.

I'd like to hear Besser, Andrew Ti, Shariq and Jocelyn Hughes discussing this on a segment called Yo is 'Yo is "Yo is this racist?" Racist?' Racist?

I'm not a regular listen to Yo Is This Racist, though I've enjoyed some episodes. But there have been times where I've winced at some of the commentary, and questioned how well informed any of the people are to be talking about racism. You'd think getting some more experts and people who've done studies would be a better idea than just writers and comedians. So this was a great take-down of the show.

He went from "gravelly version of himself" to "squeaky version of himself" incredible range!

Well he didn't get to stop scenes to talk about them but at least he got in a reference to loving pussy.

Marc always seems to look down on any comedy that isn't personal/observational stuff as if his style is the only true form of stand-up.

I think it's more complex than anonymity because people still post hateful abuse on twitter using their real name, and you can even include your location in the tweet. A lot of it's to do with how the internet's changed and how accessible celebrities are now. Not that long ago you needed some actual technical ability to get onto the internet, and you never would have imagined any celebrity would actually read what you said about their work and that's drastically shifted in the opposite direction in such a short space of time.

Guys, as we found out from the episode 81 of improv4humans thread, all these negative comments are probably just one or two people with 10 accounts, so there's really no need to worry.

And I wanted to yell "Commander Shepard is from Mass Effect! not Halo!" I'd avoided that video just because I knew it would make me feel ashamed.

I think part of it is that people like to focus on homophobia among black people because it seems more hypocritical. So the logic is "how could people who've suffered so much from not having civil rights, be against the civil rights of others. So you know, at least white people are being consistent when they're oppressing others.

Here's the thing with criticism when it's posted here, it's read by the biggest fans of the show, so they're going to be defensive. It's also likely to be read by the people who were involved, so it's basic human decency to phrase it in a polite way, it's not quite the same as twitter but try to imagine that the people you're talking about are in the room. Would you still phrase you criticism in the same way? it's also an unplanned podcast, it's not a show show that's carefully written and edited for months, they're not over-laughing to annoy you, it just happens that way. So some criticism is going to be pointless because it's just how things played out that week and there's not much anyone can do to prevent it. So you can still criticize the show, but being snarky about it is just going to annoy people. Making a sarcastic comment about something doesn't make you Roger Egbert.

Maybe it would bother me more if I didn't find her laugh so infectious. It's hard not to laugh when she's laughing.

Yes I too hate laughter on comedy podcasts. Why can't they just talk about their painful childhood instead?

Yeah, sorry. I know not everyone is in my situation. Anyway really great anniversary episode. I didn't think Lauren's character made that much impact last time but it really went in some great directions this episode. Her appearances on this and improv 4 humans have made her one of my favorites. I think what worked so well in this episode is that sometimes Christmas/Anniversary episodes can be a little too busy with everyone struggling to get a word in, whereas this combination of guests was a little more low-key so people were more willing to support each other's bits.

It's not downloading on itunes, so I had to use the incredibly outdated and painful method of downloading it from the site and copying it to my phone. It took up almost a minute of my day!

I imagine it's being saved for a Monday episode whereas more atypical one's are put on Thursday. I hope Scott appears on WTF again but gets interrupted by a load of characters.

Are we going to see lot of articles explaining the ending and discussing if it proves podcasts can be considered art?

I bet the irony is that Jeff actually does end up getting annoyed at Matt because of all the people asking him if he's going to cancel the show.
