Episode 86 β Ross Mathews, Our Close Friend
elizamuffins replied to agata's topic in Hollywood Handbook
I would go but I mean I am on the whole other side of MA and I already saw John Hodgman one time and he had Eugene Mirman and Kristen Schaal with him and we were indoors which is important to me and I have never heard of any of the musical acts besides Wilco and I don't even like them. I think I will just stay in and watch F.R.I.E.N.D.S on my very nice and very expensive tv instead. -

Um could you please describe your food in terms all of us in flyover country can understand, Knoll? Us normal folks would really appreciate it. These fancy British rockers sometimes forget that there are people not as sophisticated as they are. -

First of all, thank you all for the clever suggestions. Being stundents of Sean and Hayes has served you well. I laughed a lot! That being said, I think I shall continue to refer to myself as a HH Head and ask you to maybe consider opening yourself up to the idea as well! edited to fix some spelling and also I am starting to worry I might be chanson? What are the symptoms? -

one of them wears glasses if that helps. -
I watched this movie when it was announced as being a Largo ep.....I have been going crazy ever since trying to figure out via google if ANYONE ever had a job like Sonny Malone had painting larger versions of album covers. I was born in 1979 and I certainly remember the time before computers did everything but surely even in the early 80s we had the ability to print large posters? Ugh, I remember billboards being hand painted though so maybe this really was a thing? Seems so insane that hiring artists to do this would be the most economical choice! My own grandfather was a sign painter and truck letterer so I guess this shouldn't seem so bizarre... It really is crazy how far technology has progressed since this movie came out.

Scott has said "are you having a laugh" with a very deadpan delivery in two episodes now. After the first time he said he wouldn't do it again but he did! Did he truly not realize it was from Extras? Come on Scott, are you having a laugh or what? Also Scott if you are reading this are you very excited for BIG BROTHER? Do you frequent Jokers Updates???

Episode 005 β Eye On Theatre with Don DiMello
elizamuffins replied to JulyDiaz's topic in The Andy Daly Podcast Pilot Project
You guys saying Jason's tone ruined the podcast are BANANAS! Don and Mal are from the world of Theatre and Jason's charac was from a farm where he disassembles/reassembles girls and has interest in eyeball collecting! HE WAS DOING IT! -
okay, I listened to this podcast again last night and I am starting to think I am not the only one who was confused about "magical realism". I have been hearing this term a lot recently and decided to do some research (read wikipedia). APPARENTLY the whole magic realism THING is for magic to happn and for no on to really make a big deal about it. It is a world which is otherwise identical to the real world we live in EXCEPT for these magical elements which are common for the world in the book and unremarkable. I am an avid reader and looking at the lists on wikipedia I have never read a book like this though I mentioned this to my boyfriend (who has a degree in English Literature and also did not know exactly what magical realism was making me feel a little less dumb) and he was like "Oh like in Ted?" which is actually I think a pretty good example lol. So anyways apparently this is an entire genre dominated by South American writers where the world is MOSTLY normal with elements of magic which are treated as normal. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_realism

I haven't seen the movie but I did some reading the other night about the novel and "magical realism" (a term I hear often but wasn't 100% sure what it meant) and apparently at some point in the book Peter Lake and his white horse get caught "in a cloud" or something and that is how 100 years passes...in the movie I guess they explain it as roaming NYC for 100 years. Not sure which one would be easier to understand or translate better on to film...both seem batshit insane to me. I am really interested to read this book now. There are some things that are just so fantastical that you accept in a book that just do not translate into film. Sounds like that is the case here for sure.

Episode 267 β That Wasnβt It (Iβm Back) [Hee Hee]
elizamuffins replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
hee hee! Michael is my newest fav Charac! kills me! -
I heard about this earlier today and checked the movie's IMDB page and guess who was originally attached to play Ice Cube's role? It was Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson! Wonder if Jason thought he was working on a screenplay for The Rock only to find out later the role was to be played by Ice Cube? I bet you if The Rock were in this movie it would be awesome lol.
