I'm pretty sure this IS actually a prequel to Glitter.
-
That's the same face I was making through the entire movie.

I enjoy as FMK and What am I Thinking? as much as anyone, but I feel like this would have been a great chance to play Alive or Dead.

There are people who are just never going to understand this. That's why we've seen Drive, Iron Man 3, etc. nominated recently.

Hopefully we'll get a Thursday episode. There hasn't been one in a while.

I particularly enjoyed the moment when Saucerman and Seth got their wires crossed on the Cameo and The Band references.

I agree that the straight interview shows might not be quite as fun, but Seth is an affable guy so this one was great to listen to. Although, I'll probably skip the real WTF today because it also features Seth. I think this CBB ep gave me a full enough picture of the movie.

I'm wondering which actor and actress appeared in the most How Did This Get Made selections? The one that comes to mind is Jason Statham. He was in Crank, Crank: High Voltage, In the Name of the King - and you could maybe add . Although, he was only on screen for a few seconds. Of course, Stallone has had three too, I believe. On the actress front, a candidate could be Leelee Sobieski. She was in The Wicker Man, In the Name of the King and 88 Minutes. Is there anyone who tops these two?

It's not a movie, but I think it'd be great if they did an episode on the Willenium. I feel like I still have a lot of question about all that.

Exactly, Sean. It's bad in the way that In the Name of the King was bad.

I totally disagree. I'd rather watch The Happening AND The Last Airbender in a row than ever have to sit through After Earth again. And I HATE The Happening and The Last Airbender. Its 11% on Rotten Tomatoes is too high.

Episode 84 βDouble or Nothing
justinmh05 replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
PFT and Adomian would be great. But I think the real (non-related) question is - why haven't Jason Mantzoukas and Jessica St. Clair been back on the show? Their episode with Lennon Parham was classic. -

Scott Aukerman was on one episode. He's not really an improv performer, per se (despite CBB using a lot of improv for its humor)? -

Looking forward to seeing Matt on Wipeout! -
After this performance, Jaden might just join Pauley in the dustbin.

Mary Lynn's total silence as her theme music was played was priceless.

It looks like an upcoming episode is going to feature Reggie 'Ripoff' Watts (copyright Tim Heidecker) and Rainn Wilson. http://instagram.com/p/aJYq0yHLHS/#

I know M Night is a pretty shitty director, but there's no way that he didn't realize Jaden was tanking this movie. I feel bad criticize the kid, but the truth is his acting in this film wouldn't cut it an elementary school play. But I do think it's fair to say that M Night hankered both Jaden and Will by making them do those ridiculous accents - that they use and then drop out of several times during the film.
-
I try!
-
I think the most egregious part of Will's nepotism is that his own character shows no emotion until literally the last scene in a 90 minute screen time - meaning in a movie that is basically a 2-hander, Jaden is left to put across ALL of the emotional complications in the father-son relationship. Not only did he make Jaden carry every important scene, but also put him in the sole position to get the gravity of the whole story across to the audience. But let's just assume that Will is totally ignorant of his son's pisspoor acting ability. M Night certainly was not - and chose to just go along with the plan to make a payday, rather than be honest with his star. The result is a 14-year-old kid gets trashed by every major film critic in the world.
-
I have nothing against Will Smith personally, other than it was a terrible, selfish decision to make his son the lead in a blockbuster like After Earth. It was nepotism at its worst (in the film industry, that is) and it must be very hard for Jaden to be totally panned in the way that he has been by critics.
-
It's not weird, but there is quite a bit of stuff that is under-explained or not explained at all. The overall journey is clear but the audience is left to decipher a lot of the details along the way.
-
Should we establish an over-under on how many times Jason will shriek "WHAT IS HAPPENING?" during next week's episode?
-
Between his weird mustache and his terrible accent, I was totally embarrassed for Jaden. This performance makes Sofia Coppola in Godfather 3 look positively Oscar-worthy by comparison. Her mustache was also better.
