It's a good song!

That song's okay.

I had trouble with Carol, personally. I thought Blanchett and Mara's were so aloof, so utterly detached from any sort of emotion that the movie became alienating. I understand that Haynes was trying to intentionally distance us from the characters in a way - but that doesn't mean it was a good technique.
Â
I much, much prefer something like his Far From Heaven - which taps into a lot of the same Douglas Sirk-isms while actually letting us feel something for the characters.

LA Weekly says one member of the band or crew is dead, sadly.

Â
It looks like Jesse escaped, and Josh wasn't there at all.

No bonus ep for With Bob and David? Nooooooo!

Love Betsy and Lauren, but where the eff is Nick Kroll?!?
Â
It's a law in the state of California that Kroll and Mulaney must always appear together on Comedy Bang Bang.

The best thing about this year is that Dookus Mantzoukas is basically a regular on CBB now.

So remember that joke Jon Daly made about Chris Hardwick being cursed to host too many shows for eternity? Well...
Â
Â
Are there nerds here tonight? NERRRRRRDS!!

The episode itself is a lot funnier than the premise.

Why is Frank Langella (Frangella?) in this movie?!?
-
My little quibble from earlier aside, on first listen, I think this is the greatest CBB ever.

Hmm is it just me or does it seem shows centred around people plugging things has become the norm instead of the exception. Isn't that what the BBB BONUSSSSSSSASASASA episodes where for?
Â
Â
I know you seemed to retract a bit later in the thread, but I think your point is valid. There's not much that can be done about it. CBB is a really popular podcast, and it's only natural guests want to come on and plug their stuff.
Â
From a listening standpoint, sometimes it works (Gillian Jacobs/Colin Hanks) and sometimes it doesn't (John Heder/Jack Antonoff) - but it's the nature of the beast as the podcasting industry grows.
-
Urbaniak is the perfect guest for this podcast! I can't wait to listen.

Its such a shame, because we've all said stupid shit when we were young which we regret..but...usually not about something so sensitive.
It's not even that. He made a story up 15 years ago to tell at parties. It's shitty, but not a huge deal.
Â
Dining out on that lie over and over again on podcasts is something altogether different. Dude clearly has some serious issues that he might only be beginning to face now.

This felt like an old Comedy Death Ray episode. Very breezy, just a bunch of friends goofing around.

Is there any new premium content coming out aside from what was there on launch day? what's the point of renewing my trial if I've already heard everything..
Â
Agreed. What's the point of having Lauren Lapkus and Scott Aukerman say on every ad that there's new premium "shows" coming each week, when we've had none (except for a bunch of old comedy albums) in weeks?
-
Willie sounds like if someone kicked Captain Mustache in the taint.

Please get John in for a full episode! This was my favorite Earwolf podcast this week.

I think he fully understood it since his co-star of the film he was there to promote is in the group.
Â
What does Stephanie Allyn being on the show as a character have to do with Jemaine seeming frazzled (to me)? Both things can be true at the same time.
-
I love the Wild Horses and like Flight of the Conchords well enough, but I unfortunately couldn't make it all the way through this one.
Â
The over-talking made it tough to follow at points, and then Scott and the Wild Horses seemed to bust Jemaine's balls on almost everything he said. I usually love when the show goes into 'bit-mode', but Jemaine (understandably) seemed really frazzled. It sort of killed the vibe.
