Gilbert's podcast is really great. He's obsessed with old Hollywood, and he's had some really great guests. He mixes it up; sometimes he has his comedian friends, and other times he has older actors from old Hollywood, or family of them or people who worked with them. Frank Santopadre is his cohost and is more of the "straight man" who keeps Gilbert on track.

I actually kind of loved how Gilbert kept derailing things by bringing up old sitcom episodes. It shows what good improvisers James & Anthony are that they were still able to play off what Gilbert was saying.

EPISODE 110 — Handbook East with Tom Scharpling

Whoops. Replied to the wrong post. See my suggestions above. -
Don't know if anyone mentioned this yet, but the woman whose boobies that Jason loves, Mathilda May, was in a foreign film that as the translated title of "The Tit and the Moon." According to Wikipedia, it is "about a nine-year-old boy's obsession with women's breasts. Tete becomes jealous of his baby brother who is breast fed by their mother. Tete goes on a personal mission to find the perfect pair of lactating breasts to feed on." May I suggest a remake of this movie, but instead of a nine-year-old boy, it's Jason?

EPISODE 110 — Handbook East with Tom Scharpling

From the new post-WFMU Best Show, I would suggest the August 5 and August 12 episodes. In the first one, Tom has on a real lawyer to figure out what characters in TV shows and movies would be sentenced for their crimes. That episode also has Best Show mainstays Julie Klausner and Andy Kindler on it, as well as a Jon Wurster character. On the Aug 12 show, Tom reveals to Jack Black what his School of Rock character would have been sentenced for his crimes, plus more great characters and calls. These two shows can be found here: http://thebestshow.net/podcast/page/3/ The short answer is: just jump in. Like HH, every episode has something. Also, once you get into the show, you can go over to the WFMU archives and check out 14 YEARS of great shows: https://wfmu.org/playlists/BS -

EPISODE 110 — Handbook East with Tom Scharpling

Hi Guys, Thank you for another great show! One quick clarification (this is all from Wikipedia, so take it with a grain of salt): Dolph Lundgren actually never graduated from MIT. He DOES have an extensive education, getting degrees in chemistry from Washington State University, chemical engineering from the the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, and a master's in chemical engineering from the University of Sydney. We WAS awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to MIT and was all set to go, but while working as a bouncer in Sydney, he was hired to be Grace Jones' bodyguard, which turned into a romantic relationship. He then decided to move to New York with Jones. There he pursued modeling and acting while working as a bouncer at the Limelight. In New York in the early 80s he hung out at Studio 54 with the likes of Andy Warhol and Iman. Wikipedia and Yahoo Biography say he went to MIT for two weeks before dropping out to pursue acting full time. Again, another great episode. I can't wait to hear what you guys do next.

Clarification: According to Wikipedia, the person injured was actually the Director of Photography himself, Armando Nannuzzi. He was injured when the lawnmower struck a pole, sending wood splinters, likely sheered off by the real blade that the coke-addled King insisted be used, into Nannuzzi's eye. Nannuzzi ended up LOSING HIS EYE because of the accident and did successfully sue for $18 million, as Paul said.

I don't know if we know for sure if they are in the business of developing apps. Just because their name or a subsidiary's name is on the copyright, doesn't mean they developed it. They may have paid a freelancer who specializes in these kinds of things to develop the app. I haven't tried the app yet, but I have heard too many complaints about it, and the good thing about software is that it can be tweaked to improve the user's experience.

I really don't understand the griping about the archive being made part of the paid service, and for what, in my opinion, nominal amount for what a person is getting: 1) ALL Earwolf, Wolfpop, & WTF episodes; 2) Howl-original podcast series; 3) Albums by some of the best comedians out there, and all of this ad-free. To the "Netflix of Podcasting" is kind of a misnomer, in that, while the availability of the comedy albums might be rotated, all the podcast episodes will always be there for free and not be rotated out. Maybe it's just me, but for me, I got into CBB by listening to the current episode at the time (New No-Nos, w/ Jerrod Carmichael, Jessica St. Clair, & Paul Rust) and I was instantly hooked. I didn't need a Best of or earlier episodes to get me into the show. People are so used to getting things for "free" nowadays, either legally or illegally, that they don't realize that there has to be a cost, via ads, a subscription, etc. Do I want everything for free? Of course. But do I understand this decision and will I pay for this great app? Yes! I don't see this as a "betrayal" or "unfair" as some have noted. What I would see as unfair is if a bunch of my favorite podcasts went away because they were no longer financial viable.

I noticed that currently the archives are still available on Earwolf.com. Is the archive going to remain there at least until the Android app is available? Otherwise, us Android users won't have a way, pay or otherwise, to access the archive until the Android app is completed.

This is indeed Chico Davis--except for the explicit directions; that's all Shelly--not that I'm complaining.

Here's a picture of the McDonald's that Kulap and Scott bought. Deanna Russo, Michael Cassady's wife, posted it on Instagram. As someone who shares Harris' love of garbage foods, this pile of fast food makes my mouth water. I don't know how to upload a full jpg in this forum, but if you right-click on the thumbnail below and select "Open link in new tab" you should be able to see the full screengrab.

I've noticed that a lot of the earlier episodes of CBB and other podcasts no longer have any in-studio photos associated them. What happened to them?
