Episode 1507 - Joe DeRosa
Poika replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Never Not Funny: The Jimmy Pardo Podcast
Hearing the talk about Jerry Reed, Dom Delouise, and the movie Fatso, I was hoping they'd bring up the rousing comedy Hot Stuff with both these guys, plus Suzanne Pleshette. Also, I can't think of any other podcast that would make my wife wonder why I'm screaming "It's James Coco!!!!" at my phone. -

I was equally pumped when he said this- to me, of any Zappa album, Roxy and Elsewhere is appealing on the broadest of levels (though I do have a special place in my heart for One Size... Inca Roads, Sofa, and Andy are flawless). I saw Dweezil do Roxy in Milwaukee about a year ago, and it was flawless. As far as the DVD, I've been hearing about it for years. If you ever visit a Zappa discussion board, there is a lot of vitriol about Gail and the fact that it's not out yet. Internet commenters are the worst. Present company excluded. -
Thanks for explaining- I get my podcasts through the Podcasts app on iPhone and didn't understand what the complaints were. Howard and Stard- don't be so hard on yourselves for not being prepared to be on your own without Ku! I could listen to you guys just shoot the shit all day long. That said, thank YOU Kulap! You are the glue that keeps things on track, and your heart felt thank you was very touching. There are a lot of podcasts I love, but this one is so funny yet feels very personal. Much love. Edit! Kulap made her goal!

They read my Clickhole question! For the record, I wasn't trying to get a rise out of Louis. If The Onion deigned the company I work for culturally significant enough to parody, I would feel honored!

Little Button Puss! Awww look at the face! Look at the eyes on him Scott! How could you rip that PEEEEEnis off?!?!

Let me join in the choir of people singing the praises of Thomas Middleditch and his wonderful sense of humor and ability to fit right in. I would love to hear him on Comedy Bang Bang (or really any of the other Earwolf podcasts!)

When Howard starts to sound like Peter Brady going through puberty, you know we're in for a fun ride!! On a side note- I've noticed it before, but it definitely appears in this episode. What is Howard's deal with cursing? He censors himself a lot (like guh-damn and eff-botch) but sometimes he doesn't. I haven't listened to a few of the old old episodes- is there a back story to this any that I've missed?

Remind me to never clip my toenails around Jimmy. I think it could give him a coronary! -
I think Scott is as tickled with Tiny's "That's a great song!" after the plugs theme as I am.

Episode 1503 - Jason Thompson
Poika replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Never Not Funny: The Jimmy Pardo Podcast
I love how honest Jimmy is about his "0-60" moments, especially in front of a guest. I really enjoyed Jason Thompson too. He seemed very comfortable in the interview. Though I've never really paid much attention to General Hospital, I was an avid Bold and the Beautiful watcher for years. I was impressed by the work that went into that show, and it's only a 30 minute soap. -
Gino: "So, Kulap! What's your project?" I loved having light shed on that elephant in the room! They played it perfectly.

"He did have long hair and kinda looked like a Doobie Brother..." "Are we sure Jesus was a bottom?" Just a third of the way through, but loving this episode!

Episode 1501 - Maria Bamford

Holy shit Chicago Podcast Authority?!?! This was merely a pipe dream of mine when they mentioned it on UTU2TM. I hope this happens! -

I thought the same thing- at first I thought "WHAT?!?! BUT HE KNOWS SO MUCH ABOUT MUSIC!!!!!!!" and then I thought he was probably joking. I cringe too at the negativity that comes in some comments on this (or really any) forum. Criticism or questions are different than being an asshole and shitting all over a show. I think you're safe. If Jimmy read your response, he would probably merely mock you like Elliot. -
Really enjoyed Lance- you can tell that he's more of a sit back and listen sorta guy from this and the UTU2TM episodes, but you could tell Howard and Kulap were delighted to have him there and he was happy to be there. Very good energy!

I, too, immediately went do download it and was disappointed to find it unavailable. I really liked that song too!

Quick question about one of the ads- who's paying over $200 for jeans? Is this some sort of California thing?
-
Slightly off topic- for you stalkers out there, Scotty Auks will be on Seth Meyers tomorrow (Tuesday) night. And Victor's podcast had me (and from the sounds of it, everyone else) roaring. Brendon Small does a great job of switching between characters.

Peace for grease, NaShaSha!

Speaking of Scott, I heard SCOTS (Southern Culture on the Skids) on "Lame Claim to Fame." Hack the SAC!

Howard's imitation of Jason Nash just cracks me up. I loved that episode.
