  1. Hallelujah The Hills are now one of my favourite bands thanks to the podcast

Their guitarist/singer called into the Player's Club episode of NNF this Monday! Jimmy was tweeting for callers during the show and he called in out of the blue. I can't exactly remember, but I'm guessing Jimmy eventually hung up on him (NNF listeners will understand).

It took me a couple minutes to remember where I had heard the name because they like NNF and had sent Jimmy an album, but then I remembered it was on I4H that I gained a healthy respect for their actual music.

  2. As one who has listened a few times to HH and chuckled here and there but was never enthusiastic enough to become a consistent listener, I found this episode great, and laughed harder during the table read than I have in a few weeks. I think there is a definite link between the absurdist humor of Scotty Auks and Sean and Hayes'. I don't have a lot of space in my podcast schedule, but if I get some, the first place I'm going to is HH's other table reads for starters.

And, also, I honestly appreciate the fun the regular HH listeners have with their show. I know what it feels like to be passionate about a podcast I love.

  3. I'm only 10 minutes in and they haven't done it yet and I've gotten no clues, so I'll play along: My 'N' word will be Nugent.

Edit: I didn't even notice, but the guest is Erin Foley! Last season, she was one of my top 3 out of all 52 episodes, and I had never heard of her. I bet I listened to that episode three times. Anyone who's kinda new to NNF who hasn't heard it- it's episode 1518.

  4. what a terrific episode! A lot of visuals on the Players Club video. I'm a relative n00b to NNF, but Janet was terrific, top notch, upper echelon guest.

Two hours, and the show never lost traction. Wow!

Watched a bit last night (they released it late) but listened to the rest of the first segment on the way to work. Just got to commercial break when I arrived, but will make sure to listen to Improv4Humans on my way home so I can actually watch NNF at home once Janet Varney shows up. I love her as a guest on NNF. Her and Jimmy seem to get such a kick out of each other. Hope she doesn't swallow anything funny in her drink!

  5. It felt good to ban someone. I may do it again one day.

I saw he responded after you banned him, and thought you may have been joking about wishing you had that power. Glad to see it just took a little time to take effect.

That said, it was great hearing you on the Hooray Show the other day. We miss you here!

  6. So you like the forums when it's all fluff and circle-jerking but can't deal when negative opinions are floating around? Welcome to the Internet, I guess.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head. I love a good old fashioned circle jerk (especially when it contains all fluff), and have been trying to work very hard at my lack of ability to deal when not circle jerking or circle jerking with smaller percentages of fluff. It's an ongoing process.

  7. I generally love the Earwolf forums, but there are times when it begins to smell like every other internet podcast forum (where there is plenty of hate and disgust for the Earwolf hosts and guests we all love under the guise of, "Hey, it's just my opinion, man!")

I guess I'm just old enough to have learned that pouring energy into something you don't like does not lead to anything good, but, "Hey, it's just my opinion, man!"

  8. I was reluctant to listen to this episode because in his heyday, I never really cared for Tom Green, and after reading the comments on the forum (sometimes I should know better) I was thinking that I should skip this one.

I thought better of it and listened to it, and I laughed SO hard at this episode! I thought Tom was great and really fit in, Mary and Erin were hilarious, and Scott really kept things chugging ahead. I don't know if any of you have ever lost a long time pet, but sometimes those wounds are fresh and it gets brought up when you don't really expect it to. I felt for Tom a lot, and after a couple minutes, the whole crew, including Tom, really brought the humor into it. I thought it was brilliant. I understand not every episode is for everyone, so I don't want to shit on anyone's opinions, but I think I'll go back to paying more attention to the comments that find the positive.
