Vinception: In lieu of a Vin Diesel guest appearance
telegramsam replied to Sincendiary's topic in Nerd Poker
Man, this needs an upvote. We'll probably need to start a kickstarter to pay for surgery for the polyps Ken will develop on his vocal cords doing a Vin Diesel impression for so long.- 1 reply

Loved the way this episode turned out. Having a guest on the show is doing wonders for the group's dynamic in the absence of Sark and Gerry!
-
Awesome, a guest host! Haven't listened yet (only reason I can see this is I'm up at 4:30 (east coast)), but I'm looking forward to it!
-
Is the dagger supposed to be for Houg? It looks like it may rely on illusion… is there any way for them to tell for whom each piece of equipment is best suited?
-
Loved Sarah's approach to the Roc today. Good energy on this episode. Suggestion--maybe bring Gerry back as a woman, like Marvel is doing with Thor?

Blaine is a genius and we are all lucky that we get to listen to him for an hour for FREE once a week, considering he has made a career of coming up with brilliantly funny shit over the years. Moreover, I think the last couple episodes have been funny and engaging, and I don't really mind that the characters themselves haven't gotten very far--to me, what matters is that the show has a good overall flow.

Quote of the week "Dirk off on his corpse!" -Brian

We need to clarify whether Houg is a human or a halfling. I could have sworn someone referred to him as such at one point or another. Also, there's almost nothing to Winter's description so far based on the gameplay. Need more info. cheers

We NEED to have a spinoff from this--Brian's kid and Blaine discuss pop culture!

Seconded. Great episode!

Episode 78 — Into the Woods 2: Deeper & Darker
telegramsam replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Nerd Poker
Looks like this campaign is literally "going somewhere," finally. -
I don't care what rules they use, as long as they're consistent and don't have to spend 10 minutes checking/debating every time.
-
maybe they should get a "rules intern" or something, for like, whenever they need a rules check? Which is often?
-
I'm getting kind of a Westeros vibe in this universe because of the sheer amount of senseless violence and moral ambiguity. The Tarantino comparison works, too. Darkly comedic--or comically dark.
-
I had no idea Blaine was a paisan! Awesome. Very entertaining interview, would definitely recommend.
-
I hope you're not referring to me. I've played about one and a half total D&D campaigns in my life. This show is more than I could ever hope for! I just like to offer constructive criticism/play devil's advocate sometimes. I want everyone to have fun!

Cheyenne, I love it. Question: Why the huge difference between Dag/Houg and Lyra? Almost looks like a totally different style. By the way, I love Dag's shovel-axe. Brilliant. Here's my take on Lyra-- oddly enough, in almost the EXACT same pose as in Cheyenne's drawing. Typical Rogue stuff I guess. Jumping, crouching, running, kicking... you know how it goes. My style has a little bit of an anime touch to it since I used to be a huge dorky otaku when I was a teenager. I had even stopped drawing altogether before I started listening to this podcast, so thanks for giving me a reason to pick up the pencil again. Without further adieu: I think the image might be doing some kind of weird thumbnail thingy so if you can't see it too well try right-clicking and selecting "open in new window/tab"

My concern is, unless he's got something that he's working on right now, how are these characters going to distinguish themselves as heroes/antiheroes as opposed to idiots that just cause chaos? I appreciate the shenanigans and hijinks, but I think it would be more entertaining if they had a common enemy to unite against/some kind of goal.
-
Sorry bud, didn't see that you had noticed the same thing. Good to know I'm not the only one though!
-
Know what's kind of weird about this campaign? Everyone is human (although I think Sarah is a half-elf). I'm wondering how this will affect the character dynamics down the road.
-
"You don't know Dag!" is my new favorite catchphrase!

If I had to wish for just ONE thing in the Post-Mortem, it would be a comprehensive description of the plans of the Old Man & The Collectors. How were the plans different between the men and the women? What exactly WERE the Collectors? Where did they come from? Did the Old Man have a name/backstory? How did he keep getting away? What about those skeletal crawlers? How did he use the souls for mind control and cloning? Also, maybe this next season could be like Damiens' spinoff show… The New Adventures of Damien Wormwood Darkomen! I'll venture a guess at what happened to stargoyle. I think he was destroyed in the explosion, but managed to respawn in another dimension or galaxy, far from Blackee's reach, but still able to send and receive signals. Otherwise, he would have caught up to them again at some point. Maybe he does in the epilogue…?

Sark, what an awesome ending. It would have been more epic if the baby had fucked someone up, maybe ate a dwarf, but good job on the final battle. The PCs really got a chance to throw everything they had at it. You will be missed terribly as a DM. You always managed to put these guys in situations where they would be the most hilarious. And the symbolism of the baby at the end was great. I for one am excited for Blaine Worldâ„¢. Brought to you by children! Fuck everything else you wanted to do, it's--CHILDRENN!!!!

Excellent--never heard of him, but he does good work! Will check out.
