I have a real question, not merely a quip, and all are encouraged to try to answer. In episode 40, someone rattles off a slew of really funny impressions: Brody Stevens, Paul Giamatti, Andy Kindler etc. I couldn't tell if it was in reality Blaine, Brody Stevens himself, or some other person, because they don't specifically say who it was. I don't think it was Ken, even though he does great impressions, because I could hear him laughing. Anyone???

I think we're all kind of hoping for a new Gerry character to enter either right before, or during the final battle. Also remember the "REJUVENATIONNNNNN" thing? Are they going to be looking for a YOUNG Necromancer now????

Yeah, Mildred was with them the whole time. It would have been interesting to see what she thought they should do first, I know I was thinking "get your gear back before you loot the room! You need to be able to fight off the rest of the rat-men!" It's a shame that some of those dwarf-rats had to die in such a gruesome way… Maybe if Damien and the gang went back to warn them that the curse would be broken, instead of waiting to watch Gor die… but I guess that ship has sailed. Well, if you're gonna make an omelette…

I think it would be waaaay more sad if your celeb dream was to hang out with Brad Pitt or Katy Perry. These dudes are really fun people, and I'm not ashamed to say that I wish I had more people like them in my life right now. But for now, I guess, their constant appearances on podcasts and TV will have to do.

The nice thing now is that there are so many episodes that once you get caught up, you can go back and start listening again!

I thought it was a pretty great episode. Lot's of action and funny shit. That one rat cook cutting his finger off was priceless.

UD--thanks for starting this, I was hoping someone would! The only D&D campaign that I remember anything interesting happening was my first one. We had a great DM. I was only like 15, so it was about 10-12 years ago. A couple things I remember--totally pegging a couple of the monsters without ever having opened a Monster Manual. First one, we're going into a cave and there's a gelatinous cube in the way. I had never even heard of this before. There was enough room on either side to go around, but I wanted to figure out what it would do, so I tossed a stick into it. The stick obviously melted, so we went around it. The second, and more memorable one, was this awful clawed thing that we encountered out in a field we were camping in at night. It nearly killed everyone in our party, but we put it down without losing anyone. The kicker--I figured we wanted to make sure it was REALLY dead, and I figured the only way to be absolutely sure was to cut it up, burn the pieces, and bury them at least 50 feet from each other. The DM was shocked--he showed us the entry in the MM, and apparently that's exactly what you have to do if you want to get rid of it. I don't think he was counting on us figuring that out! Oh yeah, there was this other time when the guy playing a half-orc decided to take on a swooping Roc. The DM said that if he rolled anything other than a natural 20, he was dead. Well, he wound up and rolled a natural 20. The half-orc's axe cut into the Roc's beak and wing, and the massive beast collided with the half-orc and plowed him into the ground. The half-orc was knocked out, but lived to fight another day.

Sark, this isn't a question, but you know what would be awesome? If you figured out a way to bring some old characters back who mysteriously got lost in the story's many twists and turns. I've been re-listening ever since the group-wipe, and it has been fascinating to be reminded of all the NPCs that have been introduced and forgotten along the way. Like, what happened to Tras? Is Trondoor still alive (I know, probably not, but he could be a rat) ? Has the Elder relearned some of his magical abilities (possibly allowing him to travel through time and space to aid our adventurers)? What happened to the Old Necromancer? Will they ever catch up with him?

Yeah, I'm kind of ruling out a Patton cameo at this point. They got him to come in once, and that was great, but he's a really busy dude. He's also on the talk show circuit right now, I think, promoting his new special (Tragedy Plus Comedy Equals Time). It's great, if you haven't seen it yet. Also, I wonder if Pixar or whatever might give them trouble for doing a Remy cameo. I mean, probably not. But I guess if they weren't careful?

hmmm… I was eating Chipotle and it didn't bother me! I guess that kind of stuff affects people differently.

Hey dudes and dudettes, I think this thread is a fantastic idea (no pun intended… you know… because the fantasy and eh, eh, *bad Woody Allen impression*). I wanted to let you guys know about a really fun game that I found recently that I definitely think at least a bunch of you would be into. It's in the iTunes app store, it's ABSOLUTELY free, and it's metal as f*ck. It's called Cardinal Quest 2. It's reminiscent of an old school fantasy adventure arcade game. Basically you clear level after level with a basic character archetype (fighter, mage, rogue, etc etc), and pick up cool items and equipment while killing monsters and trying to stay alive. You start off with only the fighter available, but the more you play, the more characters you can unlock. The graphics are really basic and the movement is entirely turn based. It's old school and I love it. Hope you guys do too! (by the way I am in no way affiliated with this game or the people who made it! I just thought ppl would like it!)

I have to say I heartily agree with a lot of this. I LOVE these guys, but they are Not. Playing. Smart. Enough. Gotta step it up. Remember to heal, level, and know what kinds of items you're carrying!

I feel like Sir Richard, great character that he was, has had a good run, and died in typical Gerry fashion. Damien on the other hand, has yet to be fully realized. It was too soon, and I'm really pulling for an unholy resurrection.

So I guess for the next few episodes, at least, it's going to be Nerd Poker with a Couple of Brian Posehn's Friends and Former Friends. God damn this episode was hard to listen to. Hilarious, but hard to listen to. Maybe from now on they'll be a little more conscientious about healing in between games? Also, really looking forward to seeing what kind of unholy abomination Damien comes back as (?). Really hoping the old necromancer gets his due soon.

hahaha nice… although judging from what Sarah has said up to this point, I don't know if Mildred is feeling as reciprocal as she looks in your pic. But it's very good! I like the coloring job especially.

Blackee took a real hit in this episode, I'm not sure where he was but now he can count his current hit points on one hand. Which is really not good. I think I'll be pretty much inconsolable if Blackee dies.
