aw man, I'm super happy for Jake that his career is going well enough that it disrupts his podcasting but the return of The Best Show inspired me to revisit the Kindler/Gary the Squirrel ep and that started an avalanche of relistenings now I'm jonesing for new Foogelnest Files! what am I going to do?? live my life like a normal person? I can't do t!

Doug was the guest on today's "I Was There Too" and it was very good and he didn't mention weed even once.Â
well, we was pretty hazey on whether he was an orange dancer or a yellow dancer

Also, apparently their musical genre's in-universe name is, I kid you not, jizz.
Â
Though the only source is expanded-universe materials, so it might not be in the new movies.
Â
do you think they also do scat jizz?

No. He's starting to wear out his welcome a little bit, for me, anyway.... I think he's a funny guy but he could stand to bring it down a notch or two. I mean, the always hilarious Horatio Sanz is right there. I'm not sure why the theme from Duck Tales needed to be sung.
Â
I think ben works best when there's someone there who has no problem telling him to shut up or knocking him down a peg or two, that's why Besser works so great with him, also PFT

John Gabrus

Eugene Corddry

?
Â
Fart, Mary, Kiss?
Â
let's see, well Gabrus definitely has the worst smelling farts, Bessar's real first name is Mary and I don't know who Eugene Corddry is so I'll assume he's a member of some late period Kiss line-up, was he the guy with an ankh painted on his face?

Can I just say... that 'n' (i.e. rock 'n' roll) is the shortest contraction.
Â
I think that's not considered an officially accepted contraction, it's more colloquial like "cap'n"

Yeah, but ultimately, aren't all of Andy's character's horrible monsters? (Mostly I liked that he chose a relatively obscure character just because it made Jason say "You weren't even in the pilots".)
Â
haha you're right and I think I just realized what separates "good" from "evil" in the Dalyverse, everyone who's bad does horrible things willingly but his good characters do horrible things thinking they're doing good things.

The one thing I still don't get about Oh Golly You Devil is how did Andi Calahan RN go from being a serial killer doing horrible medical experiments on vagrants in an abandoned house to being not only on the "good" team but actually being God? I know he said he was going to be kill himself and be reborn as a dragon so maybe he's just a god rather than the god, still don't understand how he ended up being good

I like to recommend ep 78 with Doug Benson and John Gemberling, I have a soft spot because it was one of the first episodes I heard and the one that really got the CBB hooks in me. I like it because it's got a great 1st guest, Doug Benson who not only is a pretty well known alt comedy/podcast personality (I listened because I knew him from Doug Loves Movies the first podcast I ever knew existed) but he also has a great rapport and history with Scott. then Gemberling's charac is not only hilarious but just dirty and weird enough that it gives a good idea of what goes on with the podcast without being so filthy it scares more squeamish people off (for example, as much as I love James Adomian there are few episodes of his i'd spring on the uninitiated). there's alot of eps that fit this criteria in my opinion that's just the first that popped into my head.

Uh... Scott (not Scott) mentioned that he downloaded the U2 christmas song (not the other U2 Christmas song) from Youtube using some "soft ware."
Does anybody know how to do that? where you get the software etc.? what is the best/safest way to do it...?
Â
Thank you (and you too)

I lost my mind when Paul started singing nam-myoho-renge-kyo to the tune of the Cantina song.
Â
also, I agree with Scott... Meat Is Murder, while arguably the Smith's best album, is their worst song. it's not necessarily a bad song because it's actually kinda catchy after you get past the animal noises... but when compared to the rest of their music, it's abject garbage.
Â
Â
their worst song is Rubber Ring

I feel the exact opposite. Other than solo bolo I thought these were all great. I forgot how much I laughed at the Grounded Me@ ep.
Â
That todd glass/james adomian really was great though and it's funny you bring up He He because i get the feeling Scott truly hates that character
Â
haha yeah i know. I love Mookie though he's hilarious.
-
Solo Bolo?? Time Bobby 3?? are you all being paid by comedy lobbiests or something to vote for these weak ass episodes just because they have CBB favorites in them? there were so many funnier episodes this year, you people disappointment me.
Â
I think last week's picks were way funnier than these episodes, though I will say I loved the Andy Samberg/Todd episode and Wompler's birthday had great people but was way over stuffed.
Â
since we all can guess which ones are going to be picked next week that means, no love for Gino, or the amazing Todd Glass/James Adomian episode or He He

I'd really like to hear Jeff Davis. His scenes on Superego are some of the best in the show's history. Plus, he could give an inside scoop on Whose Line
Â
I second this. hearing him on Harmontown is pretty good proof of his chops, whether its him improving scenes with Harmon or his hilarious D&D playing.

okay so I'm behind and catching up on my podcasts.
Â
Â
me too! Cracked was one of the shows I had neglected for a couple of weeks so I was catching up today.
Â
One of the things I love about this show is how you have the footnotes at the end and at least try to make sure your info is correct. I'm glad you called bullshit on the monkey story guy, when I heard it I was rolling my eyes so hard I almost tipped over. It's a nice story and I'm all for shining a light on the horrors of animal testing but it seemed so convenient in that way that so many apocryphal stories are. anyway, great ep, I'm gonna go look up that deaf hearing vest and learn so more about it, so cool!

Yeah, Gabrus talked about it on Totally Laime, sounds like a lot of fun. I've been looking for that episode but it seems like they don't re-run that show very much (which is weird for a cable network with limited original programming). I saw one episode with Jack McBrayer in Hawaii, and Lauren Lapkus (there shooting Jurassic World) and her husband Chris were in a segment.
Â
yeah they don't it's weird, I'd love to see that Jack Mcbrayer one though

Maybe I wasn't paying that much attention, but I didn't really get the "new format" that they tried out on the show this week. Was it just that it was more like a television/movie format, with more scene changes, and Besser being the director?
Â
in a sense, they were basically playing the same characters with the same relationships to each other and so when the scene changed they had to play it within that world, gabrus and betsy as roomies and stephanie and eugene as a couple who live in the same building. it's a cool idea but i think since there's usually so many callbacks and using the performers own names in scenes on i4h usually that it didn't stand out as that different.

the naso-spelunking scene killed me, especially when Gabrus said "I'd kill to have your hands pick your nose for one minute"
Â
as a side note, I randomly caught an episode of this travel show on the Esquire network (which is a real thing that exists apparently) called The Getaway and it was Adam Palley, Jon Gabrus and John Gemberling getting drunk and fucking around in Las Vegas. It was heaven I suggest any fans of those guys to try to see it. so funny, I wish I was their friend
