  1. Also: something something about some male actors being held up to impossible standards of perfection similar to how every female in Hollywood is, but that's not equality, it's just more of the same but not exactly, I'm not articulate enough for this.

eh idk if it is too similar, going back to andy from parks. the dude thru the first five seasons (i havent caught up on the new episodes ;_; ) was a fat slobby bro who would pass out in his tighty whiteys from running a mile. i assume he got the role then got ripped for it. the idea of female perfection tho is probably that you need to have it to get the roles in the first place

  2. well carpenter, to his credit, did not want to direct halloween 2 because he had directed the movie he wanted to after the first one and after michael myers died in the second one he was like "welp okay that is it he's dead" so that's why this really mediocre attempt at a horror anthology kick off happened. i think there was at least an attempt at an overarching Bad Thing (cult of samhain or w/e) in this movie compared to the first two. then again i dont know if the samhain thing was tied to michael myers before or after this movie had already come out as i too did not pay attention to the dumb words

As part of a merchandising campaign, the producers requested Don Post to mass-produce the skull, witch, and jack-o'-lantern masks. Producers had given exclusive merchandising rights to Post as part of his contract for working on the film, and Post Studios had already successfully marketed tie-in masks for the classic Universal monsters, Planet of the Apes (1968), Star Wars (1977), and E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial (1982). Post used the original molds for the masks in the film to mass-produce masks for retail sale. He speculated, "Because the masks are so significant to the movie, they could become a cult item, with fans wanting to wear them when they go to see the movie." Post also gave mask-making demonstrations for a Universal Studio tour in Hollywood. The masks retailed for $25 when they finally appeared in stores.[6]

  4. Based on that AV Club interview, Hudson seems like he has the best attitude ever. Here's what he said about Congo:

    Β

    Congo (1995)β€”β€œCaptain Munro Kelly”

EH: Congo was my film. It was my character, and I got a chance to do my version of whatever a leading man is, which has always been a bit of a challenge, finding those parts. I had so much fun with that character, and they allowed me, reluctantly, to do the accent and be the African guide. It was just so much fun, and it’s probably my favorite character of all. Yeah, I have nothing but fond memories. I’m so glad I got a chance to do that, and when people ask about my career, put Munro Kelly up against the guys I played on Oz and The Crow and The Hand That Rocks The Cradle, and that’s my career. That’s the range.
