How Did This Get Made

Why did they change the theme song?
Bolognas replied to Ribelin2000's topic in How Did This Get Made?
I love the new theme song. Setting everything else aside, it's clever and funny, which makes it a really good fit for this podcast. As for the OP, a person who is going to become enraged over something so trivial is probably on fifty other message boards raging against an outfit, or a guest, etc. -
The DirecTV commercials with the marionette people
Bolognas replied to seanotron's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
I feel like I should be aroused by that picture, but all I can think about is how filthy that pole must be. The marionette commercial is incredibly disturbing. Some things you can't un-see. -
Amazing movie. Amazing choice for the podcast. Also, this is the movie that taught me that boys have a penis and girls have a vagina.

That may be the greatest thing I've ever seen.

Leprechaun Origins
Bolognas replied to firsttimecallerlongtimelistenr's topic in Bad Movie Recommendations
They already did one of the Leprechauns. I doubt they would do another one. On the one hand, there are plenty of bad movies and I like the diversity, on the other hand "In the Name of the King 2" is probably my favorite bad movie, and it breaks my heart that they've already done the first one. -
The opening post says it's a new movie and that he's telling everyone to avoid it, so I figured he had written Escape from Tomorrow but meant Edge of Tomorrow. Now I'm left wondering which movie he was actually talking about.
-
I haven't seen Edge of Tomorrow, but it's got a 90% from critics and a 92% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. That doesn't mean it's actually good, but worst movie ever?
-
That is the joke. On the podcast I mean. Applying reality to the events of the movies they watch is the fundamental premise of the show, and it's hilarious.
-
That is exciting news, although not as exciting as knowing that a new episode is gonna drop tomorrow morning!

Live and Let Die is a pretty good option, and, despite it's racism, it is an enjoyably crazy film. On the other hand, if they want to do a shamefully bad Bond movie, I submit Never Say Never Again for consideration. It's Sean Connery reprising his role as Bond after having been away for more than a decade, and it plays out as more a parody of a Bond film than an actual Bond film. Connery looks old, is somewhat overweight, and brings 1/4 of his normal suaveness to the role, yet women throw themselves at him twice as hard. The writing is painful, it's like a group of high-school kids watched a couple Bond movies then decided to write their own.
-
His role on the league may be the greatest achievement in the history of mankind.

This is an awesome flick. There's definitely a number of crazy characters and outrageous stuff that happens, but they work well within the context of the movie. The reason it gets so insane at the end is because it's from the point of view of a character who is mentally ill and goes off his meds.

I put this movie in the category of films like The Cabin in the Woods or Army of Darkness. I don't think these types of films are good candidates for HDTGM. It would just be them talking about a pretty good, fun horror movie that is weird and silly in all the ways it was designed to be.
-
That trailer looks phenomenal. I might have to look this up on Netflix.

My buddies all loved this one, but I was bored to death the whole way through. It's a very flat script, that is acted flatly. If you aren't dazzled by CGI spectacle, there's nothing to pull you in. I don't think it's a very good candidate for the HDTGM treatment. It's not a movie that is having fun with itself the way the more recent Fast and Furious movies are. There's monsters. There's robots. They fight. Ron Pearlman is there. The end.
