    Episode 75 — Daredevil

Hmm... can Daredevil's fighting style be considered Gymkata?

    Episode 75 — Daredevil

More on Black Lois for those who are interested: http://www.cracked.com/article_18502_the-5-most-unintentionally-offensive-comic-book-characters_p2.html I first heard of this on the PBS Superheroes Documentary. They had a section on Comics and Human Rights Issues.

    Episode 73 — Congo

As Shariq Torres pointed out, Primate love is not a new thing when Congo came out: Guys, don't jerk off. Seriously though, we need to stop this. You can call me Inter-species-phobic but, I don't want things to deteriorate to this:

    Episode 73 — Congo

I was happy that Mr. Eko had the snake scene. Such a badass. Some good character building right there.

If he's deaf, how can he hear his "voice" for the first time? (if a tree falls in a forest....)

    Episode 73 — Congo

Who's eyeball was that in the beginning? The one that Bruce Campbell picked up. I thought it was Grant Heslov's eyeball but, he had both eyeballs when they see him later on. Did he find the missing eyeball and pop it back in? I don't know if I agree that the apes were the good guys. They were dicks! Throwing eyeballs and throwing heads at people. R.B. Travis (Bruce Campbell's father) was on the brink of discovering Blu-Ray technology with the blue diamonds. Ironically, Congo is not out on Blu-Ray. Also, HUNGRY HUNGRY HIPPOS!

    Episode 70 — Gymkata: LIVE!

Hope to tell ya! It was weird. The way the line was delivered and in that context, it seemed like the hardware was for Kurt Thomas. He had his hardware swinging and thrown at Kurt Thomas. Maybe I'm just filling in the blanks to get the joke.

    Episode 70 — Gymkata: LIVE!

During the 80's and the early 90's, the movie posters for most of the foreign films at the art house theater in our town were quoted as: "An exotic journey" "An erotic adventure" "Sexy, sensual, seductive..." I used to think foreign films distributed in the US was an excuse for intellectual, artsy people to watch porn. But today I learned that artists/counter-culture rebels were creating the porn and distributing them.

    Episode 70 — Gymkata: LIVE!

I'm not a scientist either but, I do practice Karate and know a bit about STREET FIGHT-TERS.... Gymkata is roughly translated to Gymnastic Routines. The moves the Gym Fighter used in the movie can be parts of the Kata/Routine which he practices with every day. The Kata/Routine showed him the way to pommel horse kick assery. So, instead of "Gymkata," I think the title should be "the Way of Kicking Ass with Gymnastics." You know, like "Way of the Dragon." Or maybe, they did mean to use "Gymkata (Gymnastics Routines)." This IS insane. "Gymkata" does have a nice ring to it. Maybe this flashback will shed some light on it. Remember when cat & beard said: "You wouldn't actually use a kata in a fight or anything, they're just for your practice."

    Episode 70 — Gymkata: LIVE!

At 1:17:24 of the Podcast, Chris was right: "Gymkata" is not the proper fusion of the two disciplines. "Gymkate" (The Way of Gymnastics or Kickass Gymnastics) would be better . The lady who "knew" the answer was wrong about the title. She did get the correct definition: Kata, n, pl "A system of basic body positioning in movement exercises as in Karate or Judo." Yes, Kata is body positioning exercises that is used to practice martial arts, like Karate. Within the discipline of Karate, there are many Kata. Which are strengthening, balancing and breathing exercises. It's like in the discipline of Gymnastics there are many routines. So if you say "Gymkata", that's like saying "Karate-routine." Here's an example of a Kata in Karate: http://youtu.be/ys2NeiBlk8k

    Karen Gillan!

Karen Gillan is on "NTSF:SD:SUV!!!" I just found this out today! My question is, "How did you guys manage to make my day better?!" Paul Scheer and June Diane Raphael working with Karen Gillan?! The three most beautiful people in the world together at last! With that said, I find Karen Gillan more attractive out of the three of you. Sorry Paul. Will Karen show up on "How Did This Get Made?" You guys can do an English movie. Something classy like "The Day of the Triffids."

    Episode 60 — Street Fighter

That what makes the 1994 Anime Movie interesting to watch. Actually, there's a few interesting things in that movie (Chun Li fan service). Ryu is constantly on Ken's mind, even when he's with his wife, Eliza. During the final battle between Ken, Ryu and M. Biston, a love song was playing in the background. If you get a chance, I recommend checking out the Anime Movie. The characters are truer to the source materlel and there are more "street" fighting. Here's another fun fact: In Street Fighter IV, Ken and Eliza has a son.

    Episode 60 — Street Fighter

It's pretty interesting how Paul picked up on that. Ryu and Ken did seem to have a more than friends relationship and I don't mean brotherly love. They are supposed to be from the same Karate (Shotokan) school, has the same master and are brotherly close The Anime, Street Fighter II The Movie (which came out before Street Fighter the Movie), expanded on their brotherly relationshp but it was written poorly and made it seem like Ryu and Ken had a hard on for each other (not that there's anything wrong with that). This was later exploited in other Street Fighter games and expanded universe. The Japanese game developers recognized the potential homo sexual undertone which they can use to draw in the female demographi, they redesigned Ryu and Ken to be more "Bishonen" (attractive males) and turned them "ambiguously gay." There was a lot of that going in Anime around that time. HDTGM crew thank you so much for this! An amazing episode!
