Relevant to this discussion, Comedy Bing Bong's recent stop in Portland had an amazing Ice-T via PFT performance. If you listen closely, you can probably hear me having a heart attack about ten times. Shit was hilarious.

Maybe he could get Howie to finally record a comedy album? Or the Skokie Binyon Junior record? Yes yes yes, a thousand times yes, cf the aforementioned Fiona Apple.

Alie & Georgia (Slumber Party podcast) talk about this all the time. Like why are all ghosts Victorian or from the Civil War? Shouldn't there be some 1980s ghosts by now? Patrick Swayze comes close, but no cigar. I guess Bill Cosby counts. But yeah, how about hippie or disco ghosts? And why would my grandmother be haunting me? She was a good Christian lady. ^props to seanotron Also, Shariq, you are like balls deep in SVU. Wow. I've never actually seen an episode, only vanilla Law & Order.

"Sorry, I guess the beer got excited..." Our hero, ladies and gentlemen.

Yeah, I was on Janelle Monae from the get-go, but Adele is meanwhile cleaning up the press coverage and awards, blah blah blah. Blue eyed soul still gets on top. Yeah, didn't Erykah and D'Angelo kinda go off on vision quests or something for awhile there? I don't know about Badu except that she was off the radar, but I did see some crazy shit about D'Angelo although I'm pretty sure he's cleaned up now. And I'm with you on the music/partying/grown ass man tip. But as we know, Howie is defying that time waits for no man. Wouldn't have it any other way. ETA: Also, Sharon Jones is the fucking jam. That's some shit Howard should be listening to.

Agreed and totally lame. An interesting aside: Lorenzo Music (the voice of cartoon Garfield) did the voice of Dr. Peter Venkman for the Ghostbusters cartoon. Apparently Bill Murray became friends with the guy, and after Lorenzo passed away, Bill Murray did the live action Garfield movie out of respect. Or a sweet and easy paycheck, who knows, but it's nice to think of.

The search function is a bit of a carnival game. Those milk bottles are really hard to knock over. The other thread made me look up the trailer and put it on my Christmas movie list. I think it'd be fun if HDTGM did something like Santa's Slay or Jack Frost (which is on Netflix streaming) or Black Christmas (remake or original) during December.

I think Paul and June have covered this show pretty in depth already.

Everything I hear on the radio is just "we gonna party" and "tonight we gonna do it" or variations on that theme. It's tiresome. And I don't know what non-Summah is like in LA but up here it's time to put away the dance music and play something more soulful. I wonder if Howard ever listens to older R&B like Sam Cooke or or whatnot; there's some real jams out there. I guess that's why I don't keep up too much with a lot of contemporary music; there's so much good shit that I'm still finding out about.

Portland was pretty fun last night; PFT Ice-T killed everyone and there was a pretty solid Would You Rather. It's so much fun to see everyone stoically sit through that theme. Definitely going to buy the episode so I can relive it, and looking forward to the Herzog one. Hope everyone has a great time on the upcoming shows -- they're awesome to see live after so many podcasts in my earholes.

Yes, the production values of these free podcasts perturb my sphincter.

Goddammit, I need more caffeine. My memory is absolutely terrible; I await the singularity with bated breath. BUT! Reba McEntire and the Dad from Family Ties are an even better couple, right?
-
I guess that's the wavelength I was on. I mean, Kris Kristofferson and Reba McEntire, two people who probably don't have any business acting, are shooting the shit out of a sandworm from Dune? Super ridiculous and funny.

I'd rather be The Black Ghostbuster than plain ol' me or Dan Aykroyd any day of the week. This movie came out in a weird period where big budget films were beginning to use CGI more instead of constructing sets and using practical effects. I mean, Terminator 2 and Jurassic Park blew everyone's minds in 1991 and 1993 respectively, and then you get Congo in 1995 with fake rocks and a dude in a gorilla suit. It looked like shit even at the time.

Quoting this because I'm out of Likes. Fucking gold. And I think it's a brilliant idea to do an episode on Conan with the commentary instead of the vanilla audio. That'd be impressive.

Dr. Jekyll and Ms. Hyde (1995)

The story of her trying to get the Catwoman role in Burton's second Batman is crazytown. -
Yeah, obviously like just about every book/comic/manga to movie transition, it ends up being a completely different thing. The comic gets super dark and intense -- kids are fucking murdered left and right, one gets crucified at one point. Kazuo Umezu is possibly my favorite manga artist/writer of all time; his juxtaposition of shoujo style with horror is really fascinating, at least to this American.

Not sure if that's good/bad or bad/bad. Strong dislike for that fella. Don't feel bad about quitting halfway through either of those two. And happy birthday, duder! Enjoy your youth.

Yeah, the effects when he's turning invisible and you see the musculature and circulatory systems are very cool and gruesome. But the story is pretty crappy -- I don't get why turning invisible makes you a creepy insane pervert. Wait, I guess I do understand it. In any case, this is way more rapey than Blurred Lines. Not sure if it's good HDTGM as it's a pretty one-note horror movie, really. If Bacon is to be served, I agree with the person above who nominated Tremors; that would be a lot more fun.

Yay! The missus will be happy to watch this since she didn't see the live broadcast. Worth watching, everyone. You saw the gifs, now see the magic happen.

It is a fun/dumb action movie, but it's unfortunately not streaming on Netflix.

Their appearance on Who Charted is a delight; they have Howard Kremer dialed in. It's one of my favorites.

This seems appropriate, somehow:
