Don't be so sensitive. I live in Philly. It's a racist city. But it's majority African American. And there are a lot of non-racist whites living there. But it's still mad racist because a bunch of rich whites who live in the burbs and the mainline come into the city everyday to order blacks around. I can admit that my city is full of white racists, and I don't have to grasp onto to some "Philly Pride" bullshit. Still, I like a lot of people here. Why do Southern whites get so offended when their cities are called racist? Is it some "Rebel Pride" Brad Paisley thing?

surprised they didn't make fun of the caller for thinking that the ancient pyramids in the Americas were built by "latinos"

still dying over the bossman Aukerman story

who are these people in Chicago and Detroit who have never seen a black person?

cool to hear Oliver Wang shout out the Mountain Brothers. I can remember back when he used to write about them on rec.music.hip-hop back in the mid-90s.

Probably not though, these people like to keep their racism polite.

Someone should call this dump up posing as an agent for an analog-rock white supremacist band and see if they can get booked.

Can't find my favorite clip from the genius early Troma teen sex comedy "The First Turn On" but here's one with Rondell Sheridan and a few other fellows beat down an 'accidental racist' and then join hands and frolic up a hill. -
Great episode. I'll have to check for more of the guest's music. I have to agree with Jeff over Nocando about the Edan album. As an artist it's cool to have a personal policy against making throwback shit, but don't tell other artists they're not allowed to do it. Especially if they can come as fresh and innovative as Edan did on that album. If that was throwback rap, then it was a throwback to some alternate past where Big Daddy Kane rapped over Amon Duul II and Ash Ra Tempel tracks. If someone tries to harken back to the golden age (or tries to "progress" the artform) and comes wack with it then they're wack. Don't come wack should be the only rule in music.
