EPISODE 113 — Listeners, Our Close Friends 3
SteveH replied to agata's topic in Hollywood Handbook
That may have been one of that last phone calls collected by the NSA. Congrats you're a part of history https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/nsas-bulk-collection-of-americans-phone-records-ends-sunday/2015/11/27/75dc62e2-9546-11e5-a2d6-f57908580b1f_story.html this joke might not make sense because I don't always understand the news. -

Everyone was super nice and funny and charming. I have to agree that this might be the best of the call-in eps. Who was the Andrew impersonator? That was probably my favorite. They even had their own personal Hayes-Laugher in the background!- 555 replies

Glad the AV Club has their priorities straight. Looks like they spent a lot more time on their podcast awards than they did putting together their albums of the year. Music is so over. -

EPISODE 112 — Agata, Gabe, July, Our Close Employees
SteveH replied to agata's topic in Hollywood Handbook
I said FOR EXAMPLE. Of course I don't really wanna see a Capybara's dick. That would be crazy. HAHA can you imagine? A guy that just sits there at work, zoning out, and thinking about what different animal dicks must look like? And then that guy seeing a picture of a capybara and being all like "oh man i'm really curious about what that thing's dick looks like. Is it inside? like a cat? If only there was a website..." and then he looks at the clock and it's 5 so he can go home. but then he's still thinking about what a capybara's dick might look like the whole ride home. And then he gets to the daycare to pick up his son and he's like "ok. get it together, Steve bro. You're a father. You can't be thinking about Capybara's dicks all day." And then he just keeps wondering because he doesn't even wanna look it up on his home computer because it's such a weird thing. Is it though? I mean, it's just curiousity. Why do we have to sexualize everything in this culture? It's just a part of the anatomy like anything else. Why can't I be interested in the anatomy of animals?- 226 replies

EPISODE 112 — Agata, Gabe, July, Our Close Employees
SteveH replied to agata's topic in Hollywood Handbook
I was wondering today whether there was a website that's basically just a photo encyclopedia of the dicks of every animal. Not like porn stuff, but just a helpful resource if you were wondering what a Capybara's dick looked like, for example. It probably does exist, but I'm too afraid to google it. wikidicks? -
was just re-listening to this one today. I didn't realize that the genesis of the Middleditch + Lapkus ep happened on this ep. "Al Gore has rhythm in 3/4 time. 3+4=7. 7 washington avenue! that's where the national treasure is! let's go!"

I'm not sure why, but this sentence immediately triggered a reaction of pure, profound sadness in me. Probably because I'll bet you never got to meet one of those critters and the thought of a small boy hugging a cold, flat image of a cute little critter and never getting to meet the real thing is heart-breaking. Please tell me you got to hug a real one.- 226 replies

2nd time Scott made that reference, 2nd time I had no idea what he was talking about. Based on that picture, I guess it is exactly what I guessed it would be though, which is a giant japanese baby.

you take one week off for a holiday and this is what happens. Guess I need to tell my 1 employee that he can't have Christmas off after all. Thank you, AV Club, for making me worse than Mr. Scrooge -

EPISODE 111 — Mike O'Brien, Our Close Friend
SteveH replied to agata's topic in Hollywood Handbook
Don't worry about it. Things were never the same for me after my son and I appeared on episode #78 of hollywood handbag. Immediately after I hung up the phone, we were both still so high from our taste of fame, we got in the car, drove to New York and hired an agent, a manager, an acting coach, a vocal coach, and a publicist. We got headshots, $200 haircuts and my son demanded we hire a personal trainer. I maxed out 3 credit cards and drained my 401K that I had been paying into for 10 years all in one whirlwind afternoon. What they don't tell you is that Earwolf doesn't pay you an appearance fee. I thought it would be OK to blow through all that money because we'd make it back and then some once the other gigs started coming in. 7 months later and I'm $40K in debt, no savings, no acting gigs on the horizon. I got divorced and remarried twice. My son won't speak to me. I got addicted to online mahjong. Been in and out of rehab. Appearing on a call-in show is not all it's cracked up to be.- 344 replies
