for all you androids out there, there are real reasons the Howl app and soooo many others are available on iTunes, but not Google Play, and it's not because Earwolf hates you. "Developing iOS apps means ensuring they work nicely on a small range of iPhones and/or iPads: generally 6-8 different devices depending how far back the developer wants to go. On Android, it's a different story: nearly 12,000 different devices out there in the hands of people, with a wider range of screen sizes, processors and versions of the Android software still in use." "Piracy on Android is a fact: developers of paid apps who keep a close eye on their analytics often notice lots more people using them than have actually bought them on a store like Google Play. Games suffer in particular from this." in summation, Androids and Pirates are to blame, so take it up with them (but be careful!)

complaining about the app aside - this was a great ep. Matt Gourley is a hilarious delight and a treasure (but also an integral part of the evil corporate conspiracy to steal your free content from you!!)

Episode 96 — Tom Scharpling Again, Our Close Friend

Guys - that post was meant to be a bit of a joke but it seems to have caused genuine confusion. The eps will only be ad-free if you pay for the premium app. This is a little inside baseball, but what better place for it than the HH forum- companies pay money to have their ads aired on the podcasts, which is how the podcasts makes money and what allows it to be free 1. So if you pay for it, no ads. So the takeaway here is - handbook heads, don't pay for the app because we were overlooked yet again. It's the t-shirt situation all over again 1 The 'Hulu Plus Model' is the exception to this. Wherein, you pay for a subscription, but are still treated to at least 4 ads per half hour show. 2 2 I'm going to start using footnotes in my forum posts- 351 replies

You should try calling Mark. I hear business has really been picking up lately and they're going to be adding 2 additional dumpsters. Mark can't push 2 sets of dumpsters into each other all by himself, if you catch my drift. Hit him up on LinkedIn. -

I think Earwolf is making a huge mistake with the Howl app. They're alienating the hundreds of Handbook heads by providing 'ad-free' content as an incentive to pay for the subscription. Why would we pay money to be deprived of one of the best parts of the show? Mr. Scripps and his cronies obviously didn't take into consideration the fact that Andrew spent what I can only imagine was a full 40 hour work week editing together all of the ads from HH just for fun. I myself spent the better part of a day editing together all of the Cards Against Humanity ads and setting it to the music of Hans Zimmer. What they should have done was use Pete Holmes' idea to remove the first 10-15 minutes of WTF if you pay for the subscription. Those are all my thoughts on the Howl app.- 351 replies

Music thoughts: "All of My Friends" by LCD Soundsystem might be one of my favorite songs of all time, but I barely like any of their other songs at all. the live version of "Idioteque" by the Radioheads on I Might Be Wrong is one of the best songs ever. Listen to it. The song ends very abruptly and the audience absolutely erupts immediately. If you don't get chills, you're dead. Discuss. Goodnight. -
