I just saw this show up on Netflix and thought fuck it I remembered this being decent and oh my lord this film was made to be discussed on HDTGM. I was giddy throughout the entire thing and it really never failed to disappoint except when it did, but it was still rewarding. Every weird quirk and flaw just made it that much funnier. It's almost how shall I say (mission) impossible not to like!
Just a few highlights from my viewing experience.
Directed by J.J. Abrams so it's like absolutely watchable.
Tom Cruise with a Katie Holmes lookalike waiiife.
The scene where Tom and his waiiffe get married in a hospital chapel wherein they exchange rubber bandy cartoon rings and then immediately fuck in the supply closet.
Felicity's face when she dies oh yeah SPOILER ALERT even though it happens in the first 30 minutes, just look at her eye it's so bizarre.
Laurence Fishburne as the angry black lieutenant saying the most ridiculous shit, par example "....It's unacceptable that chocolate makes you fat BUT I've eaten my share..." "...But I won't stand for and what I will lose sleep over and I LOVE my sleep..."
Philip Seymour Hoffman as the remorseless villain who is selling something on the black market called the "rabbit's foot" for a comical 850 million dollars.
Technological and physical feats that stun the senses.
EXPLOSIONS EXPLOSIONS EXPLOSIONS.
"We Are Family" starts playing out of nowhere during one scene.
Riveting double crosses upon double crosses which will leave you guessing maybe even after the film is over!
The stunts and fights in this are great.
The acting and dialogue are simply mindbogglingly hilarious.
I would love love love to hear the HDTGM crew expertly dissect this wondrous Hollywood creation. Please consider this for one of your future podcasts!!
