Lamont's uncle says "after the war, you disappeared for 7 years and i said nothing". the war has to be world war1 which ended in 1919. so the movie takes place after that, but before the beginning of the great depression in 1929. my theory is that after the war, Lamont is feels so guilty of watching his friends die, and his love for killing that he cant return home. instead he travels to tibet to become a warlord. this movie must take place between 1926 and 1929. therefore Shiwan must have trained under Tulku durring these years. he kills his master before finishing his training having to rely on outside sources of power like his ancestors burial casket and tibetan tapestries to "give him a boost".

i love this podcast, but i couldn't follow this movie after minute 10, good luck with the questions you guys ask, this movie makes no sense.

during the middle of the movie, the newlyweds are driving (toward Wilmington) and see the west bound traffic filled with unmanned semi-trucks. when the wife asks "where are they going", the husband replies, "Greensboro maybe, or Charlotte". but these two cities are in opposite directions from Wilmington. if you want to get to Greensboro from Wilmington, you take the I 40, and to get to Charlotte, you take US 74, you can get to Greensboro using US 74 to I 73, but that's the longest way possible.

small fact about comets, their tail is formed from heat and radiation from the sun, and therefor always faces away from the sun. so the only way the premise of this movie works is if the comet passes in front of the earth's orbit and earth movies into the tail. also at night, when the earth doesn't face the sun, all effects of the tail should have dissipated and no glowing green light should be visible in the sky. this also backs up the theory that the aliens were the ones controlling the trucks and not the comet itself.

can i please get some comment about the lack of chemistry and poor dialog between vin diesel and michelle rodriguez during the scene where they are talking in front of her tombstone? what was that???

correction number 1. i believe you had some confusion over animals in the movie going extinct. i think a news report can be overheard explaining that elizar kane (the scientist) was cloning these newly extinct species and reintroducing them to the planet, this also explains why he would have the largest zoo, and his museum of frozen animals. omission number 1. the missile at the end of the movie (to send the world into a second ice age) is launched with a timer counting down till its (explosion?) when teddy finally gets control over the remote and presses the abort button, the timer is at seven seconds. the timer goes down to one before blowing up (thought to be because of teddy aborting its mission). but the missile is at one and still in orbit. was the missile supposed to do something other than blow up, or blow up differently? how does a missile blowing up in space cause an ice age? omission number 2. when "kane" is grappling hooked out of his car, why does this make "edge" lose control of the car sending it into what looks like a plywood sign causing a massive explosion? omission number 3. when teddy goes to speak to commissioner lynch, hes interrupting "kane's" speech to his investors of the new eden project, in his speech he says that "he has reintroduced dinosaurs to the earth" and that "its time for humanity to step aside". does this mean that the "new eden project" is for humans to leave the earth for another planet or is everyone at the dinner in on the "new ice age" plan? if the former, why don't they explain that in the movie. if the latter, then why does the commissioner (who was at the dinner) set a time-line that could cause the plan to fail?

loved it when i saw it as a boy... but when i saw it years later... the first part looks like a bad addaptation of newsies, and the rest is just full of bad steriotypes of countries, not to mention the crappy makeup of van damme to make him look "old", or the impossible theory that a hot air balloon meant to hold two people can lift and carry a four ton statue of a dragon! good recomendation

hated this movie, the ending makes no sense at all!!!!!

possible... i know that everyone involved with this film knows it was shit... however that doesnt make it anyless shit. i loved it when i saw it and i think others should have the chance to enjoy the same shittyness i enjoyed.

i felt the same way, i was 8yo when this came out and i vividly remember begging my father to take me to go see it, and he refused for weeks. we finally saw it... i loved it and he had a look on his face like he wanted to put a gun in his mouth... see it again! you will want to hear paul, jason and june review it

this movie has some of the worst acting and THE WORST plot ive ever seen. from imdb synopsis... "A foul-mouthed finishing school graduate mistakenly winds up on an ill-fated fishing boat, and faces the wrath of a crew that considers him bad luck. " so... its basically the odyssey meets gulliver's travels meets horrible comedy. it truly seems like the actors were making up lines on the spot and was later edited into nonsense. a must see! full movie is on youtube.

Thinner, the Langolier, pet sematary, or my favorates... silver bullet, or riding the bullet! look them up, they are great!
