Episode 159 - Sleepwalkers
firsttimecallerlongtimelistenr replied to JulyDiaz's topic in How Did This Get Made?
there are 2 dance scenes at the start of this movie adding up to a total of 182 seconds .. that means 25.27% of the first 12 minutes of this stephen king horror movie was made up of people dancing. but to be fair they packed alot of other stuff into that time aswell. this thing was on screen for over 30 seconds you also had the mark hamill scene with the hanging cats and the girl from lifeforce, the title card, some self mutilation, cats ... and more cats. the more i think about it the more i like this film. it's proper nuts oh yeah, the chillicoathe encyclopedia of arcane knowledge ... it's not a real thing .. i was kinda hoping it was -

i was looking for a picture of the cat to try to illustrate how dumb it is that these monsters would be afraid of him and i found one ... look at him .. even with the shotgun in the background he's cute but that's not why i ended up posting this image. it's because of where i found this image. it was on a site called: yup ... some amazing person out there has created a website dedicated to cats in movies. they list all the movies that have cats in them and the amount of detail given to each movie is nuts. they have movie summaries, production details, pictures of the cats in the movie, detailed descriptions of the cats appearances ... they have links to where you can watch it .. where you can buy the dvd .. they even list current releases that have cats in them, you know, just in case you need a new cat fix sometimes i hate the internet but sometimes i really love it ... http://www.cinemacats.com/ you really need to read the Sleepwalkers entry: http://www.cinemacats.com/?p=1102 my favourite part .. the "Kitty Carnage Warning!" -

Anyone else get a "The Evil Dead" vibe about the cemetery scene? ... the over the top acting, the cheesy one liners, the make up and the editing .. this was a weird movie and I really had fun watching it ... except the mother/son sex stuff. June's reaction to it is amazing. She must be the only person who watched this and came up with a logical way of getting around the creepiness of that relationship. And June's theory does make sense but I don't think coked up Stephen King went that deep. He just went for the creep -

That's enya's "boadicea". Pretty sure it's from the 80's. It was used throughout the movie. I started to think they were trying to get the same effect from it as Mike Oldfield's "Tubular Bells" in the exorcist. It was also used in a very memorable opening to an episode of criminal minds ... also involving fire -

Freud would have wet himself if he was watching it. i cant wait for this episode. I was wearing headphones for it and i thought the same thing ... it's nasty but i love the thought of the adr session. this came to mind -

who knows? they probably put body parts out before it to coincide with the release of Love so Gillian and Claudia could promote it. so, assuming the guest for the Chopping Mall episode doesn't have a show to promote that's out next week, it will probably be the next episode. they chop and change all the time. i'm in no rush to watch it so they could put it off for another while if they want ... -

not really into those netflix shows but our old friend lexi alexander has had some stuff to say about iron fist. my favourite: "Probably a bad sign when a Kung Fu show starts with the actors not bowing correctly" followed by "it takes skill to get the bow wrong" i don't think shes a fan ... but she is a fan of Lewis Tan and she's been working on something with him. Not sure what it is but looking at this BTS they were not messing about: https://www.instagram.com/p/BRxJIwZhSnK/ -

thats a good spot ... i didn't take any notice of it. i looked him up after watching this and he's the writer of the hitcher and near dark. i think i mentioned this in a mini a long while back but there's an extra on the hitcher dvd i have called "the hitcher: how do these movies get made?" ... well worth a watch. i think its on vimeo or youtube -

there's a couple of deleted scenes on youtube from the unrated version. clip #2 is abit gruesome but does show the arm moving as it was moved between patients. which is nuts. i wont post that but i have to post clip #1 .. this is hilarious. it's right after the crash ... btw .. DO NOT search for "body parts crash scene" on youtube ... seriously -

and this is my favourite part ... i love how the torso is still breathing and is that a urine bag hanging of it??? there's no blood coming out of the massive wounds but better put a bag there incase it needs to take a leak .... i wish the the hand started to try and grab the gun or the feet tried to kick through the glass- 264 replies

a few things: is jeff fahey's character immune to anesthetics or something because he was awake during the initial operation and then he woke up again when they were trying to take off his arm. there is no way the doctor is Fletcher's mother. according to his rap sheet he was born in 1950 .. this make's him 41 in this movie .. how old do they think Dr. Webb is? and gillian's reading and viewing habits are fascinating -

I thought it was worth watching. It's nuts. Obviously now that the hair is out of the bag you kinda lose the "ah-ha" moment but that happens early on anyway. It's more about the fun after that ... But if you want to skip I'd suggest just watching the trailer cause I just did and everything you need to see is pretty much in that, just in a truncated form... and there was me giving out about modern trailers ... there needs to be a spoiler alert before it. But maybe we could refrain from discussing the movies in the minis or use the spoiler tag .. I know these are old movies but most of them are new to me and I'd much prefer to go into them knowing as little as possible. We have fun in here during the minis weeks. It would be a shame if people started skipping them for fear of spoilers.
