EPISODE 119 - Maximum Overdrive: LIVE!

i said a similar thing earlier and you just got me thinking about it again ... wasn't there a radio in the shack? the waitress used it? why not just send a voice through that. i would loved to have heard a "smashie and nicey"esq voice come through (a little enfield/whitehouse humour there)

EPISODE 119 - Maximum Overdrive: LIVE!

this reminds me of a incident from my younger days. i got a new bike and i was out with a friend. we passed a girl from my class and i though to myself "i'll show her how cool i am by doing the biggest skid she has ever seen". so i raced ahead and pulled the brakes, ready to impress her like never before. well, i dont know if it was the rush of blood to the head or what but i ended up pulling the front brakes and did a cartwheel over the handlebars and landed right on my back. then i got up and ran around like a fool holding my back. then i remembered why i was going to try and skid in the first place. so i turned around to see if the girl was laughing at me ... but she was gone. did she see me make a complete arse out of myself or had she walked away before any of it happened? we still live locally to each other ... havent been able to look her in the eye since ... so i guess ill never know. but at least now i have some idea of what she might have seen .. thanks stephen king

EPISODE 119 - Maximum Overdrive: LIVE!

the gang covered it and cameron H's gif illustrates it ... how a simple step to the left or right could have saved so many lives in this film ... which reminded me alot of Runaway. which led me to a theory. what if it wasnt the space dust or aliens that caused all these machines to come alive. what if someone found a warehouse full of chips made by gene simmons and then inserted them into all the machines ... i think we all know who we need to call ..

EPISODE 119 - Maximum Overdrive: LIVE!

Theres something bothering me about the whole Morse code thing. Why did they pick Morse code? We already saw that the aliens/comet dust could communicate in English (they called King an asshole and they actually spoke through the drive-thru speaker), so why didnt they just use a voice through a radio or something. Why send such an important message using a code very few people know?

    EPISODE 118.5 - MINISODE 118.5

might be The Conjuring directed by show favourite james wan. thats where we got our first glimpse of annabelle the trouble with alot of horror movies is they dont know how to end them. the conjuring suffered from that. so did the babadook. even all the way back to rosemarys baby. you have 80 mins of extreme tension and the last 10 completely fall flat. they also date very fast. kinda like technology movies. so if i was picking 5 standout horrors it would be looking back on how i felt while watching them at that time (age), so bare with me: - the exorcist - creeped the shite out me - ringu / ju - un / audition - i went thru a j-horror phase. i watched ringu late at night and in an empty house. a fun experience. i had never seen anything like it before. then hollywood ruined them - texas chainsaw massacre - the noises in this film are incredible ... they just bury into your brain and raise the tension to almost unbearable levels .. a trick missed by all the remakes/sequels - saw - they became an annual event for me but more just for a laugh. the first one is still a classic though. - halloween - nuff said - evil dead 1 + 2 - a joy to watch even now other notables: - paranormal activity 1 - hellraiser - candyman - misery - the alien movies - v/h/s - let me in i could go on ... horror is definitely my favourite genre. but, again, if i rewatched alot of these today id probably laugh at them
