I thought "Hard Ticket" referred to it being a hard way to get to visit Hawaii. As in Taryn probably thought it was going to be an easy assignment to a wonderful part of the world but instead she ended up chasing murderous drug dealers and running from contaminated snakes on a former leper colony

it's one of the most bizarre things i've seen in a while .. a grown man wearing ugly assed shorts doing skateboard tricks in hawaii whilst holding a gun in one hand and a blow up doll in the other ... not to mention all the stuff that came before and after ... HDTGM indeed

here's kermnode discussing it. it's an interesting thing to happen when the director disagrees with reviews for a good movie. i wonder if the reviewers could go back back and watch it for the first time as she intended would they have liked it as much .. or more .. guess we'll never know. i must try to watch it sometime

that's the thing. the director said she it's not a "recreation" or parody of anything. it's its own movie.

one of mark kermode's favs from last year. it's supposed to be very good.

logan was, for me, the best movie of the year. wolverine is the only one of the x-men i care about and to see jackman sign off like that was amazing. but as we're confessing stuff. you know the way some movies are hyped up and up and up and then you see it and go "... i don't know ... "? well this was my reaction to baby driver.... don't get me wrong, it was good but it was all done much better before. all i wanted to do was go home and watch true romance again. it had great action scenes and fox, spacey, hamm & gonzalez were excellent in their roles but the two love birds put me to sleep. i was so bored by them they kinda sucked the life out of it. i haven't seen elgort before and i'm not going to be rushing to find his other work..... watch now he'll be announced as the next wolverine tomorrow.

got to admit, by the end i was laughing both with it and at it. this movie is nuts. knowingly nuts but still nuts. would have been handy to know it was some sort of sequel to something though. i probably should have done a little research on these movies but that might have taken away some of the "WHAT??" moments. i'll leave that to paul and the gang.

i'm still waiting for shoot em up. i think it was mentioned around the time of the crank movies as a "must do" but it never got did. i've had the bluray on my shelf for years. that and bad lieutenant port of call new orleans are just collecting dust in hope.

any chance you can put this kind of thing behind the spoiler tag? we try to keep discussions like this hidden or keep them for the episode thread. can't speak for anyone else but i like to watch the movies as fresh as i can so if you wouldn't mind i'd appreciate it. thanks

i know dad. i was just looking for a place to rant about my sister giving away my netflix password ... i mean, who does that??? i still haven't watched grease 2. hence it's the only HDTGM episode i haven't listened to. i should really but i just can't stand musicals. i did buy the dvd though so i'm a step closer

if anyone is looking for a christmas present for jason this movie is available in a 12 movie Andy Sidaris boxset called "Girls Guns & G-Strings" ... some of the titles for the amazon reviews: "BIG GIRLS BIG GUNS & TOY HELICOPTERS" "B's with boobs!" "Babes, bangs and B movies!" "Babes, bombs, boobs, bullets, babes......." "Quite a Bargain" i hope this director has a better sense of humor than the chopping mall guy

paul knows netflix isn't free right? every time a movie is available on there he says "it's free on netflix". netflix isn't free paul .. unless your sister told one of her friends your password.... then it's free for them. and when you say that's bad form and you're going to change the password but then your sister gets upset and pulls out the old "but she's my friend!" routine ... and then you tell her she's in her 30's and she can't use that line anymore but when it comes time to change the password it turns out that she CAN still use that line because baby sisters .. am i right??? i wonder who paul guilted into giving him their password??

thank you for joining and further highlighting what a prick this guy is. paul and jason are big and ugly enough to address your concerns themselves but, as it was stated before, paul did play a section of the directors commentary to highlight exactly what a creep he is. i was actually taken a back by it but was very impressed by june's passion and comments after. i think if they had heard the commentary prior to the show and had heard what you've detailed about his behavior on your movie set it would have been a different show. or maybe it wouldn't have been a show at all. but again, thank you for your comment. let's hope the behavior that this director seemed to think was acceptable (and got away with) are a thing of the past but if it's not then it should be called out at every opportunity. even in a forum for a podcast about crappy movies.

it really did. i loved it. but i'm guessing june will be skipping the 10 O'Clock show next week

the garbage pail kids was never really a thing here. or maybe i was too young to care. i remember the cards but i've never seen the movie. and i have no idea what hard ticket to hawaii is. there's a version of each of these on youtube but the GPK one seems short compared to the IMDB runtime. does anyone if it's the peoper version?

that's a though one. i mean the first time you see something is always the best and seeing it for the first time with a crowd and with tommy there would be amazing but you're going to be surrounded by alot of people who know it beat for beat and i think there's even some parts where audiences "participate" so you might miss some stuff if you watch it for the first time with them. i didn't really answer you're question there did i?

RANT ALERT: loved the episode but i really don't get the love for this move at all. i was bored from the start to the awful ending. usually with these "so bad they're good" movies there's a charm to them or unintended humor throughout but this had neither. and it's really badly made. i said in the mini i was in a bad mood before starting to watch it and by about half way i was ready to switch it off. i watched it with headphones on and all those chewing and swallowing noises did my head in. nope. i did not like this one at all. and those guys on the commentary, with their locker room talk, are assholes. Q: now that this is out of the way, is the last dragon the last previously announced movie we're waiting on? i'm after losing track.

scott eastwood is in it ... oh boy ... that's not filling me with any great hopes for it ... i still haven't rewatched the first one. the acting in that was bad enough without adding eastwood jr in to the mix ... it's basically just power rangers isnt it?
