1. New Infinity War Trailer!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwievZ1Tx-8

They also released the poster and a certain character is oddly missing from the group. Literally only Hawkeye got left out of everything. Now I'm wondering why they even bothered putting him in the MCU at all if they were never going to treat his character properly. So many good story lines he's been part of in the comics, so much good character development could have been done, but nah let's just throw him to the side and hope his fans get a glimpse of him.

i only saw black panther this week. it deserved the hype. not your typical marvel movie. one of the stand out stars was letitia wright who played shuri. i looked her up and i'd be shocked if she's not on one of those "actors with biggest box office takings" lists at the end of the year ...

  2. considering how busy the three hosts are now and the amount of work that paul and the interns (shout out to marissa) put into them i wouldn't expect a howdies any time soon. there was about 60 episodes between howdies 1 and howdies 2 so going by that you're talking episode 210ish. and even if they used episode 200 for something you're still looking at 2019 ... and who knows what plans they have in store for the show in the future.

  3. I just went through every item and good god rich people give me a headache. I want some of those art pieces tho negl.

i had to look up why he was selling all this .... found this quote:

"Divorce has its way of making you really examine the things that are essential in life — and the things that are not," Crowe said in a statement through Sotheby's Australia. "Through the process I had a look around and realised I had a lot of stuff. Career stuff, stuff I've collected, and stuff in general. Boxes and boxes of stuff ... so in the spirit of moving forward into fresh air, here's a portion of that collection of stuff."

    "a portion"!!!! there's more????

    in boxes???

and he's putting it all on sale on his birthday ... which is also their wedding anniversary ... that's actually kinda funny

  4. What other movie was done from 2017 besides Valerian and Fate of the Furious?

valerian doesn't count (if it's not on the list of episodes it's not on the spreadsheet). The 2017 movies are XXX3, Fast 8 & The Disaster Artist. I started reading the disaster artist at the weekend and so far it's hilarious. not sure if it would be as funny without hearing tommy's voice in my head as i read it though. greg captured him brilliantly.

  5. 5 movies: 1993, 1994, 2001, 2002, 2009, 2013

    6 movies: 1986, 1989, 1992, 2003, 2006, 2010

    7 movies: 1985, 1987, 1988, 1991, 1995, 2012

    8 movies: No years

    9 movies: 1996, 1997, 2011

One interesting side note is that the movie Dragonheart was announced in a minisode but they pulled an audible with The Boy Next Door. If we count Dragonheart as an HDTGM movie, 1996 has 10 movies. 1981 is still a year without an HDTGM movie though.

i'll put this behind spoiler so i don't take up so much screen time:

here's my new count. i found a few errors and a few conflicting release dates. not sure where we are differing but it's probably regions or an error on wikipedia.

    1 movie: 1969, 1974, 1978, 2004, 2005, 2016

    2 movies: 1982, 1990, 2002

    3 movies: 1983, 1984, 1998, 2000, 2007, 2014, 2017

    4 movies: 1980, 1990. 2001, 2008, 2015

    5 movies: 1993, 1994, 2009

    6 movies: 1986, 1988, 1989, 1992, 2003, 2006, 2010, 2013

    7 movies: 1985, 1987, 1991, 1994, 2012

    8 movies: None

    9 movies: 1996, 1997, 2011

  6. I'm sure your spreadsheet is more accurate than my notes written on scrap paper while I watched tv. I used wikipedia because it was easier on my phone than using imdb forcing me to switch back and forth between apps. imdb is certainly a bigger stickler on release dates than wikipedia. I'll check my results against yours when I get home because there's a bigger discrepancy on some years than just a movie with a late release date.

We are both consistent on 1981 though. So, I think they should try to get something from that year.

ah don't worry about it ... i'm not going back through mine either. gotta get that 1981 movie sorted though

  7. I looked into which years have the most How Did This Get Made? movies. Here are the years with five or more movies:

    9 movies: 1987, 2011

    8 movies: 1995, 1996

    7 movies: 1985, 1989, 2012

    6 movies: 1986, 1991, 1992, 2003, 2006, 2010, 2013

    5 movies: 1988, 1993, 1994, 2001, 2007, 2009

Since 1980, two years have not had a single How Did This Get Made movie. 2018 for the obvious reason and 1981. I have a some possible suggestions for 1981: Nobody's Perfekt, Going Ape, Carbon Copy and Heartbeeps. I've seen Nobody's Perfekt and Going Ape but it's probably been 20 years since I saw them. I liked them as a kid but they have probably not aged well. Carbon Copy and Heartbeeps both look amazingly bad.

i've been saying this for about 2 years. i think paul has some sort of block on the year 1981. whenever i bring it up people always come back with caveman. it's on youtube. it looks horrible.

my numbers are different to yours though. i guess this is the difference between wikipedia and imdb. i tried to take the USA release date as much as possible too. and no doubt i got a few wrong. but 1981 is definitely starting to trigger some OCD feelings in me.

  8. just a heads up if you haven't seen it yet. another "important announcement" from the powers that be ... all earwolf shows older than 6 months are going behind the wall starting March 31st ... can't say they didn't warn us this time ... so if you want to (re)listen to episodes, or download them for later, you know what to do. not sure what's going to happen with HDTGM and their re-releasing of old eps every 6 months though ... I'd imagine that will continue ... or at least I'd hope it would. paul will probably tell us this in the next mini anyway

  9. In honor of Rockstar, I was just curious, are there any bands out there on your “must buy” list? By which I mean, without hearing a note of music, if so-and-so is releasing new material, you’re buying the album.

I’ll extend this question to include any artists work (i.e. actors/directors/authors etc)

i started to answer the question and then ended up going on a long rant that went nowhere and didn't come near to answering you but it took me too long at this late hour to delete so i'll just put it in a spoiler and you can read or skip it

no. i've never been one to do that. i actually don't understand it. with anything. i've never gotten excited about a movie just because this actor is in it or this person directed it. same goes for albums, books, tv shows ... i need to listen to it or watch it or read some reviews etc first. i've never considered myself a fan of anything. i mean, i like things or bands or whatever and if a band i like comes here i get excited and try to get tickets ... i don't know. i've never really thought of this before ... am i a fan of anyone ... does liking a band make you a fan or does it go deeper than that? what is a fan these days? there are some weird fans out there today. god help you if you say any negative about their obsessions. i was on a U2 board a while back and the way people talked about them really disturbed me. it was like they were gods.. like they were family members. or it was like they were ... how do i put this ...i couldn't understand what they were saying about the band. they could do no wrong... there was an issue with the presale for the latest tour and some people were angry at the lack of action by the band and others got really upset by this suggestion. it was everyones fault but the bands. U2 were infallible in their eyes. so, to counter this, i pointed out they were just 4 lads from dublin who were just as capable as f**king up as the rest of us humans and, oh man, that didn't go down well. i had to get out of there. i felt bad for saying it because their responses hinted they had gone passed normal fandom into a whole other level. none of it was angry. just really... i found them to be obsessed. i think i'd hate if someone felt like that towards me. what kind of pressure does that put on a person? you see it today with fans of musicians, movie stars, politicians ... it's all gone very weird. or maybe it's been weird all along i'm only getting to see it now because of social media ... something i'm weening myself off because of just this kind of mentality. you gotta be able to question everything. i hate blind allegiance. it's very dangerous. you guys don't need to look far to see the effects of this ...

how did i get talking about all that??

to answer your question properly ... i haven't bought any music in years. that's not how i consume music anymore. i mostly just use youtube. i'm actually struggling to find music i like anymore... and by that i mean new music.i always go back to the songs i've listened to forever but i think i'm just at an age/place in my life where the music being released just sounds terrible. never thought that would happen but there you go. not all of it but i can't seem to connect with alot of it. it's either empty, boring, i can't understand what they're saying or i understand exactly what they're saying and i dont give a s**t. these days i just keep clicking on videos on youtube till i find something i like and then see what else they've released.

here's a few highlights from my latest finds:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54fea7wuV6s

this song and video blow me away. and check out "Virile" from the blaze too. another quality track and great video.

edit: not sure why that video didn't load but it's well worth a click. just listen to it as loud as you can bear preferably through headphones...

this whole concert is amazing but this does something to me every time i listen to it. especially the 2nd half. i'd never heard of woodkid before and now i just want to go see him live.

i think i'm limited to 2 videos so here's a few other things:

    Hooverphonic Live

The XX ... yeah i'm late to the party on that one

and about a dozen random dance tracks ... i'm in abit of a mood lately so most of them are either very uplifting or aggressive ... fuel to the fire kinda thing

  10. Maybe the Rock Star episode is only gong to be 3 minutes long.

so for it to be exactly 25 days nobody can watch the movie and the episode has to go a little somnething like ...

adverts ... intro ... theme song ... "hello people of earth! ... this has been an earwolf production ... "

    boom 25 days!!

    fingers crossed

  11. this one is for paul or the interns .... this is most important ... especially if you suffer from any level of OCD ...

i was updating the spreadsheet and it turns out that if the next mini is exactly 65 minutes long then the total runtime of minis+movies+episodes will be exactly 25 days (at least by my numbers) ... how cool would that be?

unless i've got it wrong then ... never mind ...carry on

  12. not sure if you've heard of deepfakes ..it's really not cool ... but someone is actually putting it to good use. by splicing nic cage into some iconic movies ... here's a sample .. i'm not googling deepfakes though but i would love if someone out there put it to proper use and insert him into every HDTGM movie.

reminded me of my efforts from a few years back
