  1. I was wondering what that H stood for Cameron ... guess now we know don't we

Ah man that was amazing. I was in a room, on my own and i actually laughed out loud and gave an involuntary clap when Paul said you might like the Nazi stuff in the auction. There is no way you went to bed last night thinking in the morning Paul would call you out like that ... I loved it ... I'm kinda jealous. Well done Mr. Scheer

  2. there's another episode where it's just june and paul going through a standard mini. it's my favorite mini ep by far but it's also behind the paywall. it's the one before Junior. there are 2 amazing moments in it. i won't list them in case you haven't heard it but if you haven't then you are in for a treat.

can we share mini's? cause i have them all. would that be bad form? i suppose if some of them are behind the wall then they want to keep them for subscribers right?... i kind of answered my own question there ... it'll come back again soon enough.

  3. Great episode, btw!

When Jade is tutoring the dumb jokes she writes an equation on the board and asks them: "x + y + z divided by 3?" Now, I'm not a "maths" guy so I could very well be wrong, but since she doesn't give a value for any either x, y, or z, isn't the answer the equation itself?

That got me too. I was going to rewind it to see if I missed something on the board but by that point I couldn't bring myself to press the rewind button

  4. 2 questions:

    1)

meredith, gets yasmin to pull out of the talent show by showing her something from her flash drive. she says chloe wouldn't want the world finding out things went missing when chloe's mother worked for her family. i thought first she was saying the mother was stealing from them but at the talent show she accuses chloe of stealing a doll. but it turns out that it was meredith's little sister took it. so my question is ... what was on the flash drive? what made yasmin believe meredith?

and it was resolved so quickly. after she accuses chloe of stealing, in front of the whole the whole school community (to which her mother has zero reaction btw), chloe denies it, the little sister walks out on stage and confesses to it and before you can even blink they've moved on .. this was a major plot point and that's it? .. there are no repercussions? chloe doesn't need a scholarship. she's going to clean up in her defamation of character lawsuit.

    2)

why did the school have so much security? what happened in the years before the girls started at the school?

  6. i have no correction or omission for this pile of crap. this is the fastest i've ever turned against a movie. 3 minutes in and i was furious with it. and it only got worse from there. i really thought it was going to get panned by everyone so i was shocked paul said he liked it. then i realized he missed half of it. that's probably the only way to get anything from this movie ... just skim over it in a sleepy haze at 1 in the morning as you watch it with your mam.

9% on RT!! that's way too high. this is a stinker. i enjoyed GPK more. I said it in the mini but this, for me, is the worst movie covered by HDTGM. i hated it. i told my younger sister i watched it and she gave me a look of pure disappointment. when i told her it was for the podcast she asked "why do you put yourself through this?" .. this podcast is the only reason anyone should ever watch this movie. that or to torture your worst enemy. i bet this movie is why the doves cried

  7. Texas Chainsaw Massacre is still a brilliant movie. The use of sound in it is incredible. It's a constant attack on your brain. It wears you down. By the time you get to the business end of the movie you're shoulders are in your ears you're so tense. It heightens the madness of what's on screen so much that you're almost begging for it to end. And when it's over you're exhausted. Not many directors achieved that but Tobe Hooper did it on his 3rd movie when he was 31!!!

  8. I know I've never been the target audience for this film but there's a special place in hell for the Bratz movie. I would say it's probably on a loop down there as some kind of genius form of punishment but it's already never ending so the loop would be unnecessary. I enjoyed the star wars holiday special more than this and I f##king hated that. The noises the wookiees made were less annoying than some of the singing in this piece of ..... This is the worst HDTGM movie yet. What a waste of a Saturday night.

Edit: posted this rant before seeing Cameron's and fister's posts. Obviously there are more important things to be worrying about than the bratz movie. I hope everyone is safe in Texas and all this passes quickly.

  9. In case you guys aren't following Paul on Twitter, the Garbage Pail Kids cast is coming out of the woodwork.

i was just going to post this. it's brilliant. i pointed blake in ali gators direction and i think it might work out. i'd say there are a few crazy stories from that set. i also kinda nudged him towards felissa rose's twitter too ... angela from sleepaway camp ... maybe she can answer who's who and on what branch of the family tree they land.

also, i really hope they get chrissy. she's hilarious. wonder what movie they'd review with her?

edit: i bet jason wishes he was on twitter now!!

  10. i think i might. the cast and crew were so passionate about it but i doubt it will live up to their emotions. next weekends viewing me thinks .. unless i forget

just finished watching it. it's actually very watchable. i mean it's cheap and dated, even for 1994, but it's very charming. i think if they spent abit of money on it, cleaned it up abit and fixed a few FX & audio issues they'd have a DVD i'd buy. it's definitely more comic book/80's cartoon than the more modern versions and i think it's all the better for it. there are worse ways to spend 90 minutes ... cough .. garbage pail kids

  11. first up .. THIS IS NOT A KIDS MOVIE!!!

ok ... i thought Mackenzie Astin and especially Anthony Newley did an amazing job in this movie. Think about it. Imagine signing up to what was probably pitched as a major franchise opportunity and you turn up on the first day and seeing these monsters ... imagine the sick feeling he got in his gut. not from the grossness of these kid things but just the disappointment of it all and the knowledge that this could very possibly ruin his career. and still he put in an amazingly professional performance. you hear actors nowadays saying how weird it is working on green screen and acting to nothing but a tennis ball or something. Well Anthony Newley, a man with pure imagination on his CV, had to work with these things ... he did a great job.

i thought this movie was horrible and those 'kids" were hard to watch ... which i guess was the point.

but as a palate cleanser ...
