Episode 131 - Jake and Amir, Our Close Friends

Easily one of my favorite "bye"s yet! Super strong episode. It continually amazes me how they can make absolutely nothing happening so funny. I love this podcast!- 197 replies

Because of the episode's text description, this is the first time in a while I've waited until Wednesday to listen. I'm a little disappointed that I did. They tricked me! The little "Is that... that's what... that room is..." warmed my heart maybe more than it should have. I liked the episode. Thanks!

I'm always too nervous to post in that forum because it's so incestuously esoteric and I'm on the outside, so I am worried this is some bit I don't get, but I thought it was a great fuckin' episode too. god damn it

I'm sensing I'm suffering from a serious case of WHOOSH here, so I'm going to forego the rest of this conversation until I've been able to listen to this episode outside of work where I get interrupted every ~3 minutes. Regards

I never thought I'd say this, but I can't wait to get home so I can see which horse dicks are selling for $2099. What a deal!

Thanks for the link. Great read (although it did make me sad again which I thought I had progressed past). I could picture everything she was describing and heard his voice saying all those things; I'm sure most others here could as well. He really did feel like a friend. She said the family was ignorant of how adored he was. Hopefully witnessing how many people he impacted positively is the tiniest silver lining for the family. It doesn't even slightly compare to having Uncle Harris in her life of course, but I'm glad that his niece will be able to get to know him at least as well as all of us felt like we did. I guess it's about that time to listen to this episode again. Regards

I like your fresh take, but I think "Because Fi" flows a little better.

Tears at the beginning and end, nothing but joy in between. Thanks for letting us experience this.

That's the first thing I did before coming here to be another random internet stranger offering condolences. As someone else said, not very many celebrity deaths touch me, but this one certainly does. Sad.

Gotta say I'm pretty disappointed in how the countdown ended. I surely didn't dislike these episodes; I just feel they don't demonstrate the things that make Comedy Bang Bang so unique (or at least the things that I love about Comedy Bang Bang). However, as this is done by voting, clearly I am in the minority. It's also hard to make a list when there are so few duds. Just a really strong year from start (although I'm a little sad the elligible 2013 episodes didn't get any love) to finish. I can't wait to complain about 2015's list. Cheers, everbody. Happy New Year! Regards

I'm pretty sure that was #293. I listen to that episode a lot. Plugs themes don't generally stand out to me but that one did, so ipso facto I vote for it as well. Regards Edit: I'ven't a clue what they say at the end of that Plugs theme. Might you have it deciphered?

No doubt. Maybe it's just me, but for me, it seems like he's been working a LOT on his questions. Regards

To be fair, most of them didn't appear to be having a great time. Maybe we could get Gino to interview them? Regards
-
Good lord! How much make-up do they put on to make her into Gina?!? Regards

That makes sense. Thanks. It's unsettling that you included September, though. I'll still hope. Regards

Jack Black really missed for me. He didn't seem to play well with others. I guess I'm also biased because I don't really love musical comedy that much and it felt like he wanted to turn everything into a song. Mr. Gass seemed more willing to go with the flow. More importantly, since the Emmy's were on Monday this year, the first episode after them will be #308. I will be so very disappointed if Amy Poehler is not with us. I was expecting her for this one. Regards

But seriously, where did they meet?

Same for BeyondPod on Android. Mine checks the feed at 4:15am Mondays and Thursdays; it must not have been updated by then. This emotional rollercoaster I've involuntarily ridden this morning has been a bit overwhelming and very nearly as debilitating as the Tuesday Weird Al episode fiasco. I'm trying to listen to this episode via SoundCloud because Paul Rust is just such a fascinating creature to me, but it's been quite the unpleasant experience so far. Today has already earned an entry into the weblog which I keep to chronicle my escapades! Regards Edit: A more concise confirmation was provided by a better poster:

Strangely, this was my first thought, too. With all due respect intended, Mr. Pardo's entire life and career in my mind has been reduced just to Scott Aukerman's "NAAASSSIIIIIMMMM PEEEEDDRAAAAAAD" and "MHHHEEEWWWWWZICKLE GUEEESSTT". I don't think it occurred often enough to make a formal recognition, but maybe Mr. Aukerman will find some backhanded way to show his respects. Regards
