Aw man! I'm sorry! I wont spread it until you reveal it.
-
Is that a new logo I see? It's fantastic! A Diffo original, I assume? <3 Liz

I had the pleasure of speaking with Eban at PodFest - he has the sweetest personality with a voice to match. <3

It is an honor to be bumped by FaceLikeThunder.

I don't think you can, at least not yet. The NNF page has an Amazon referral link of it's own, on the right side. If SPONT had one, it would probably be there. Write your congressman?

Neat! What a happy accident! Unless targeted marketing is even more intelligent than we've been lead to believe...

Totally by accident, I think I found your sacred book online: http://www.wish.com/...eather+notebook Is that it? I haven't found any clear photos of yours, just kinda going off Podfest memory.

Hi Paul! So glad the Podfest episode is out now. It was an absolute joy to be present for it, and love being able to revisit the memory through the podcast. After the official Podfest video archives went down, a bootlegger uploaded them to YouTube. I reported it to the Podfest people, who were able to get it removed. They said the videos now belong to the podcasters to do with as they please. Do you plan to release the video of this show (or Superego or Boat Show) at some point? -Liz

Yaaaaay!

Hi PFT! Forgive me if this is out of bounds, but you discussed this on a recent episode: I also served on a jury for the first time recently. It was just a civil case, but I was horrified when they picked me - I wasn't confident I could make a decision that would effect the lives of strangers. But by the end of the six days, I was fascinated with the whole system, and even ended up serving as the foreperson. Now, whenever a friend gets summoned, I whole-heartedly endorse it as a must-have life experience. Would you be willing to share any details about the case you served on? Civil or criminal? Was it difficult, or pretty open-and-shut? Did it go the way you wanted? -Liz

EPISODE 27 - Underneath the Eiffel Tower: Live from Largo
LizBradley replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
Both of you can watch the episode now, if you go to lapodfest.com and pay for a ticket to watch the archived live streams. Use the code PFT for $5 off! That's hilarious! Everyone's hot for teacher! -
Thanks for the answer - can't wait to see it! I'm hoping to make it out there again before too long.

Hi Paul, I meant to tell you this in person, but we'll see if I can twist it into a relevant question. Many of us here on the Internet are so happy that you're working with Nathan Diffee. From the beginning, we looked forward to his posters every week, and got to know him online. When you hired him, we were so excited, and it's been great to hear your shout-outs to him on the show. He is a great guy and a talented one, and he deserves all the good things coming to him. He's a hero to his fellow Spont/PFT fans, and it's fun to wonder what you guys will come up with next. Now, a relevant question... At the shows, and the poster choices: "Savannah, Georgia", "Pigeon and Friends" and what else? Do you also have the poster that is made to promote that specific live show? Like will you have THIS ONE available at the live show on October 3rd? After the show actually happens, I'm guessing Diffee will probably make a new poster for the episode, but I guess that's more of a question for him. Thanks, as always. Liz

You might be interested in purchasing a pass to watch the archived LA PodFest show. Andy Daly's poor penmanship sent us all on an unexpected journey! Or you could wait until December...

EPISODE 24 - Sports Club/Live at Largo
LizBradley replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
I believe that was on the recent Alison Rosen is Your New Best Friend. Great interview. -
EPISODE 22 - A Clown Cemetery
LizBradley replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
Oh my god, that location. This is going to be great. -
Was the idea for the sound effects app at all inspired by "Rap Air Horn" AKA "Ham Horn"?

Thanks for answering / not answering! Little misunderstandings like that are part of what make Spont so special. Smooth transitions be damned! I will be at the live show at LA PodFest, so I guess that's the closest I'll get to satisfying this particular curiosity. Can't wait!

I'm curious about visual cues the improvisers may be using, that the listening audience is not privy to. Since you all play multiple characters in each episode, does anyone ever do something different with their physicality to help fellow players tell who's who, if a change in voice is not quite enough? Do you signal other players when you're coming up on a break or wrapping up at the end? If you like something and want to continue in that direction, do you signal for more of that?
-
And Paul, your care, thoughtfulness and eloquence never cease to amaze. Is it too early to nominate you for Sainthood? Okay, sorry, back on topic! Who's got questions?
-
I am so happy this worked out, I could cry. Paul, I (internet) know "Cornballs", he is a good guy and a great fan. He did the music for the video I made you. He just needs to learn how to use a winky emoji. Peace and love, peace and love.

On the topic of ads, when I first learned SPONT was coming, my only concern was that you'd have to do ads. I don't want you to do anything you don't want to do (as much as I'll miss Speakeasy and DAP) and therefore the prospect worried me a bit. Since hearing your ads, of course, all my fears have been alleviated - they're fantastic and I'm glad you're (usually) able to have fun with them. Still, I know I'm not the only one who was a little surprised at a couple of the products. I know all Earwolf podcasters have 100% veto rights, so I know it's your decision, and that's wonderful. I'm just wondering if you've used that veto power yet. You don't have to name names, but are there any ads you've declined to do? Are there any that Midroll knows not to even bother you with? For example, I've heard ads for Adam & Eve on other podcasts. While I'm sure you'd make it hilarious, I'm afraid my fragile constitution couldn't withstand such a thing. I would surely require a handkerchief and someone to fetch the smelling salts.

Guys, if you don't get in here and ask Paul some more questions, I'm going to. And then he'll become annoyed with me and I'll have to commit harakiri. Do you want the blood of my ritual suicide on your hands? Don't let me become a Paul-hog!
