Episode 448 - Master of Horror
NicholasArthurTallidis replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
I appreciate the thought out response. Maybe we should have started there, but I was admittedly aggressive and, like you, in a weird mood when this all started last week. Of course, it is also just kind of fun to fight on the internet but the intent on my end was very genuine and, while no artist should be exempt from critique, I hope that we as a group can keep the conversations constructive and intelligent in our own idiotic way. -

Yes I do have a chip on my shoulder. As a standup comedian and improviser I am surrounded by dudes like you. My good friends include dudes like you. You're not a disgusting sexist, but you fail to acknowledge the boy's club here. I am for sure projecting on you. You are not as bad as I am making you out to be. I am also not the social justice warrior that you think I am. But you truly CAN'T understand how it feels to see the first comment towards a female comedian being about how her funny face bothers you. You think it is just a meaningless complaint, but it is really not. It comes from a place of "Woman comedians try too hard"; "Women shouldn't bother trying to be funny" etc...it is the reason many female comedian friends of mine just simply quit. All while unfunny, unattractive men thrive. So sorry for my sensitivity, but this is a real thing.- 85 replies

I was waiting for this, almost did this myself but figured some of the Men here would not find it humorous coming from me. But yeah, notice how a man can have a goofy photo and it is just whatever, but a woman does the same and you get a manifesto from Oddbomb and Sitwell. Keep up your denial, boys. -

You're right. Thank you, kind men, for teaching this feeble lady about the ways of your world. And now, as a result, I am sexually attracted to you both. Which one of you would like to sprinkle some morning dew on my delicate little flower? -

If I want to be known as a slampiece (not in any way a gender specific term btw), I have all right to do that. Quit trying to oppress me, MAN.- 86 replies

Episode 447 - These Are the Worst
NicholasArthurTallidis replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
Well the fact that you insult men by calling them a "Delicate Little Flower", which you presume will be insulting because those are adjectives more commonly reserved for women is the real point here. And words like that being assigned to women is part of a long history of belittling us with adjectives that highlight how weak and helpless we are. So using that insult towards a man or a woman is demeaning to women, hands down. Honestly, it doesn't really offend me but since you are such a donk I feel the need to call out your microaggressions.- 86 replies

Episode 447 - These Are the Worst

For one, you stole my Trump reference that I used to insult you yesterday. Also, I think having different insults based on the gender of the person you're insulting is kind of the definition of sexism. -

NicholasArthurTallidis replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
Bro, cut that "delicate flower" shit out. Even your insults reek of misogyny. So I am a delicate flower and you are a big, strong rock because you insult my gender? I listen to this podcast, so I therefore enjoy less than PC humor. The difference is that these comedians are making fun of obviously abhorrent personalities. You are not, you are an abhorrent personality. I think the sentiments on this thread seem to be in order. You're generally known as an asshole. Even Scott thinks you're an asshole. Go crawl back to 4chan and die there thanks.- 86 replies

Episode 447 - These Are the Worst
NicholasArthurTallidis replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
I am a woman, for one. And you're in this argument with someone like every other week. I don't tally anything, you just so happen to be attached to sexist comments more often than anyone else I see here. Doesn't that say something? My first comment, which sparked this, was just acknowledging that the usual suspects are hating on women yet again. Not even the woman's performance this time, but her picture alone. And your rage-filled response to being called out speaks for itself. You're like the Trump of the Earwolf forums. If you want to get deep into the psychology of why a woman making a goofy face threatens you, let me know. I'll have my people fax you some literature.- 86 replies

It is more the frequency which it seems to occur. Very clear patterns. "Come at me dullards..." Tell me that isn't some fedora-wearing shit right there.- 86 replies

Episode 447 - These Are the Worst
NicholasArthurTallidis replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
You're the Worst is greatly underappreciated. It is easy to lump it into the late 20s learning to be adult/dating trope shows, but has some unexpected depth. Last season might have been one of the more honest depictions of chronic depression I've seen on TV. I am just confused why Allan McLeod isn't here. In other news, Oddbomb attacks a female guest and Stan Sitwell races to hit the like button.- 86 replies

Episode 258 - Gallant and Gallant
NicholasArthurTallidis replied to JulyDiaz's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
I really wanna hear the IRS scam call/the call back they (maybe?) made. Hard to say if this was cut out, or if they just got distracted with the Nasty Boyz bit and forgot to return to it. Either way, Besser, hook us up!!!!!!! -

Actually, a good amount of military folk I know are super into podcasts. And come to think of it, a good amount of podcast fans I know could use some discipline and order in their lives. -

NicholasArthurTallidis replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
Ming is a good palate cleanser. Sometimes you need a nice low-key charac to balance out the huge cartoonish performances. I like a guest that allows me to suspend my disbelief and accept them as a real person. Also, I am Vietnamese and take no issue with Asian accents. In fact, a lot of the Asian Americans I grew up around love that stuff. Miss Swan was our shit. Assuming it is not hateful, we should learn to laugh at ourselves and our quirks. My dad did a great White Guy impression whenever he watched football and it was hilarious. If an accent is not something to be ashamed of, then it is something that can be made fun of. If it was a speech impediment or something, that may be a different story, but an accent alone will only offend you if you see it as some sort of flawed aspect of the individual. -

I feel like the nature of CBB is that it builds on itself whether or not the same characters appear. By skipping around, you are inevitably missing the origins of several bits that will be called backed on. The evolution of Scott's BitBrain is one of the amazing aspects of the show, in my opinion. So yes, you will miss out on some jokes because you skip around. You will also continue to miss incredible characters and bits as long as you only listen to the tried and true guests. -

Episode 433 - Government Pizza
NicholasArthurTallidis replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
This was a refreshing ep. Aparna was a great first-timer. Almost a Nathan Fielder vibe. Nice to have a low-key, relaxed guest who knows how to handle Scott. Ming killed me. Probably not the popular opinion, but he was my show stealer. And Gaul's character upped the insanity and everyone stepped up their game to match the energy. C+. -
Episode 432 - Dana Carvey's Micro-Impressions
NicholasArthurTallidis replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
The Cyberthug hate seems to sprout from those who have jumped on in the past couple years and retroactively listened, rather than those listening/commenting when it was released. Somewhere along the line the blackness started to make people uncomfortable. -
Episode 432 - Dana Carvey's Micro-Impressions
NicholasArthurTallidis replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
If it is a young, hip, white alternative comedian (ex. Middleditch) it is considered satire since they are obviously "woke". If it is an older white "classic" comedian (ex. Carvey) then they are obviously disgusting human beings who are stuck in the dark ages. And Cyberthug has taught us that if you act too black on CBB no one will like you. Not sure what any of this means. -
Episode 13 - Married to a Monster
NicholasArthurTallidis replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Beautiful Stories from Anonymous People
On another note, between this and the Alcoholics Anonymous episode, it seems some people are expecting Chris to be an expert on all the issues presented to him and that he abide by certain ethics and tiptoe around potential triggers. That is not what this is. This is a candid, unprepared conversation between a comedian and an anonymous caller. Chris does not need to "check himself" or hide his gut reactions. If you don't like it, don't listen.
