HOWITT, YOU MUST LISTEN TO SKI MASK THE SLUMP GOD!!! he's not a lil, but he does have face tattoos... and although he hasn't been on any charts you guys have covered yet, his skill when it comes to speed and flow have set him apart from his contemporaries quite a bit (even the late XXXTENTACION, who he came up making music with in Florida), not to mention his wordplay / sense of humor is right up your alley. there are so many songs I want to post, but I'll stick with just one... he has a pretty diverse discography for the type of music he makes though

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cY3tHQJegOM Crosseyed and Painless indeed... and it was in Dallas for sure, because I remember them playing Remain in Light in the theater before and after the show. not sure how Ol' Sourpuss would feel about this... but I hope that "stiiiiillll waiting" has officially entered the CBB lexicon. -
Episode 58 - Rented Cabin in The Mountains
hypnotizingchickens replied to JulyDiaz's topic in SPONTANEANATION with Paul F. Tompkins
so is the fact that Paul still asks the guests for plugs when the episodes are being recorded 5 months in advance actually a joke at this point? seriously... the second Jason said "Thanksgiving" at the beginning of the show, I couldn't stop laughing -
Episode 8 - Running Down a Stapler
hypnotizingchickens replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Beautiful Stories from Anonymous People
yessss, MATT FARLEY! these guests are getting less and less "anonymous", but listen to the Bone Zone if you want to hear more from him... or if you poop 11 times a day. -
Episode 236 - 4/20 Special 2016: Live at UCB Susnet
hypnotizingchickens replied to Kevin Bartelt's topic in improv4humans with Matt Besser
NEW TRADITIONALISTS! (kind of) it was actually a 7" that accompanied the original pressing of the album, so it's a trick question... not sure if Matt realized that. -

Episode 407 - Shut the Fuck Door!
hypnotizingchickens replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJsEpNIY5IA I know that it's mostly about shitty tattoos, but she is literally the punchline in that sketch... so that's the first thing that came to mind when she was brought up in the context of comedy. regardless, she's a pretty divisive artist as far as I can tell... I've talked to lots of people that claim to hate her music without actually giving it much of a chance. but you're right... i'm sure most people these days (sadly) don't even know who she is. -

Episode 1 - Ron Paul's Baby
hypnotizingchickens replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Beautiful Stories from Anonymous People
this is seriously the best idea for a podcast ever... there were so many natural lulls at the beginning of the conversation where other podcasts would have found a way to get off the phone, but the way Chris pushed through them and actually motivated him to (hopefully) change something was amazing. on a more personal note, I've lived in Texas all my life (Denton specifically for about 4 years... also spent time in Austin and San Marcos). even though Chris is right and it's definitely the best case scenario for someone who lives in an otherwise shitty place, I still know how easy it is to slip into that same familiar depression despite the fact that there's lots of things to do. I worked nights at a very busy restaurant on the street where everyone goes to drink and something about being surrounded by everyone having fun and not giving a shit night after night made doing anything with that same mindset in my personal time seem so existentially pointless... but I guess that's a completely different conversation right there. -
Episode 407 - Shut the Fuck Door!
hypnotizingchickens replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
on a day... which is every day... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfhOTopqtnQ all joking a salad, I love Ani DiFranco. she's an extremely talented musician and songwriter, definitely worth checking out before making a judgement based solely on the fact that she's just a punchline to most people these days... the track Fuel (from the same album) is one of my favorites. -

Howard Roark loffed. -
speaking of which, anyone know if the new Hey Gang from the Austin Stories house has dropped yet and, if so, where it's located? I've been periodically refreshing his soundcloud, but he's was referring to it as if it were already available. I was front row at the Dallas show, so I can confirm the "Pantera" vibe Howard was talking about (i.e. lots of very large, frowning dudes with their arms crossed about as close to the stage as physically possible... there was a metal show happening right after his set, so they were most likely just waiting around for that)... the venue isn't that bad, I'll probably be back to see a couple punk shows this year... it's just not an ideal place for comedy.

Episode 63 - Jeff Garlin: Young People
hypnotizingchickens replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
I couldn't tell if Jeff not remembering his name over and over again was a bit or not... because for someone who improvises all the time, he seems to have little to no short-term memory. regardless, it made me laugh every single time... and it reminded me how much I miss listening to BTW -

Episode 61 - Andre Hyland: Inside Hollywood with Jesse Miller
hypnotizingchickens replied to JulyDiaz's topic in With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus
I've only watched a couple Jesse Miller videos, so I'm not sure if "Dr. Pepper, MD" is a recurring joke of his... but it might be one of the funniest things I've ever heard.
