Episode 1 — Public Domain with Paul F. Tompkins

wow, then you should definitely never listen to her podcast... she laughs at herself almost constantly and it's fucking phenomenal. I've noticed lots of people in the forums have criticized comedians like Natasha, Pete, Gabrus and Pepitone of similar behavior, but I truly don't get it... the notion that, as a person whose well-being revolves around saying things that are comical, you can never audibly find something you say yourself to be humorous is just absurd. there's something to be said for comedians that play it deadpan, but not everyone has or wants to have that kind of deliberate self-control.

Episode 322 — YouTube Phenomahna
hypnotizingchickens replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
definitely check out the one with Jenny and Gabe (bong) and any episode with Brendon or Moshe, but one of my favorites is the one with (Adam) Scott... I forget the name of the episode and she doesn't list guests in the titles so it might take a second to find. I also listened to the one with Jordan Peele as Iyanla Vanzant the other day and I couldn't stop laughing... it took me an embarrassing amount of time to realize that it was just a character because I've never seen her show. this isn't to say her solo episodes aren't just as amazing... it's just nice to have another person in the studio every once in awhile to react to the calls. -

the image of Seth Morris whispering into a Saudi prince's ear is something I can't seem to get out of my mind. also I've been listening to Call Chelsea Peretti a lot lately so this episode really hit the spot for me. I'm really far behind at checking out the Netflix specials that have been coming out this last year, but this is one that I'm definitely going to clear some time for... one hour, to be specific. -

...should be the title of the highly anticipated "shut up" album (or EP) coming in 2015 (or 2016) -
my guess is he was deep inside a tranch while he was behind the wheel of that car... perhaps trying to reenact what happened on that fateful, novelized day to our dear Chewy.

as I might have mentioned in this and other threads, I work at a video store and we tend to get the new releases about a week before they hit the shelves... so I was very pleased to find this when I was batching stuff in today: IT EXISTS! and you better believe I'm gonna be the first person to rent that shit. -
speaking of Jim Carrey, they should just do the live-action Grinch and call it a day.

...then cue the elevator opening on it's own for him without having to press a single button. maybe Trump Tower has automatic elevators, I dunno... but regardless, doorways are always a source of frustration for me when it comes to continuity. really pay attention while you're watching something and it's perplexing how often people enter houses without closing the front door or, in this case, elevators opening by someone simply willing them to. -
are you kidding?! Elf is a masterpiece. my opinion is slightly biased considering I was only 13 when it came out... but as far as family Christmas movies that are actually enjoyable for all ages go, it's hard to compete with. in other news, I'm on team Allen. I work at a video store (yes, they still exist) and every time I see his face on the cover of a DVD, I'm baffled at the extreme lack of Tim Allen movies in the HDTGM canon. despite Mr. canada's trepidation, I feel the Santa Clause would be perfect fare for this show. I watched it all the time as a young child and if my memory serves me it's just as, if not more, absurd as all of the Christmas movies that have been covered. suggesting Elf, however, is fucking blasphemy.

although it looks and seems ridiculous, that's actually something that lots of people do. I'm not a drinker by any stretch of the imagination, but I've heard it counteracts some of the bitterness as well as an excess amount of foam in a draught beer. it's so popular in certain parts of the US and Mexico that they make specific (sometimes flavored) salts for beer, most commonly the brand Twang. however, what I find more troubling is Sly's choice to strut unnaturally into the night at the beginning of that clip... -

I tried taking notes while watching this movie at 2am last night, but that ended up much consisted of jotting down a bunch of nonsensical dialogue. I'm sure I missed some great quotes... and a few of these were definitely mentioned in the show, but here goes: - "...head up to Calhoun County and catch us a coon" (during the first song of the movie) - "there are two kinds of people in this world, and you ain't one of 'em" - "...turban under his cowboy hat and spurs on his sandals" - "where are all the lepers when I need one?" - "who's Humpty Dumpty?" - "what's it like to take heroin?" - "you sound like baby Hitler" - "fifth-degree baglady" - "...like a sore finger rehearsing for Halloween" (I might have misheard this one, but whatever was said still made zero sense) - "...the toilet ain't never flushed and the cat's pregnant" - (after Barnett is knocked out) "what are we gonna do?" "...piss on him." - "tighter than a gnats nose stretched over a rainbow" - "brown-eyed agony" (can't quite remember the context of this) - "guru of doo-doo" did anyone notice that in the opening credits the movie is said to be based on a song? I feel like there was another movie they have covered that boasted the same thing... can't remember which one though. also, I tallied the number of times Nick referred to himself in the third person... I got six, but I think I might have missed a few. another thing that thoroughly confused me... who the fuck is the Jessie girl that Jake is talking to at the end of the movie!? perhaps earlier scenes with her were cut out, but as an audience we're made to believe that this is her dear friend who's giving her advice even though her character just appears out of nowhere. again, I watched this at 2am so I might have missed something... -
