I much prefer the late '70s/early '80s stuff he mentions in this ep. on a really old CBB, he said one of his favorite bands was Romeo Void... I checked them out and they were amazing so I bought all their albums. same thing with his love for Neil Finn he expresed in Analyze Phish... the last few years, I've been hunting down all the Split Enz records because they're all fucking wonderful. I don't know if I can go with him on the Coldplay, but I'd definitely have to check out the particular album he keeps talking about to argue fairly. I just don't particularly like them in general, but there are plenty of bands I don't like that have albums I still love... and Scotty has never steered me wrong.

hell yeah, I've seen all the Wipe stuff too. I think now he's condensed it to a year-end Wipe (that should drop sometime this month actually) and then a Weekly Wipe series that usually airs in January. I live in the US, but for years and years I've had an unquenchable thirst for British television and culture - and all the Wipes, although they also cover world issues, provided me with a ton of entertainment. he was also one fourth of the news program 10 O'Clock Live along with David Mitchell (from Peep Show), Jimmy Carr and Lauren Laverne... another great way to get in touch with what was happening in the UK if you're not a native. I think it stopped airing sometime in 2013, but its humor definitely surpasses the current events nature of the show.

just came here to second Paul's recommendation of Black Mirror... and while you're at it, try to check out other Charlie Brooker stuff like Dead Set (the most disturbing depiction of zombies I've ever seen) and Nathan Barley (a very surreal look at the future of information and technology), the latter of which was written with Chris Morris - yet another genius from the UK whose stuff is about as dark as it can get while still being considered comedy. Brooker also has a show that just finished up its third series called A Touch of Cloth that satirizes crime procedurals much like NTSF, but with a slightly different tone. to be honest, I'm kind of curious if Paul has ever seen it... both shows even share the actress Karen Gillan.

since this is the most recent thread here discussing the tv show, figured I'd post this here: http://www.thefutonc.../20141210ifc01/ I remember Kulap mentioning on Whoch that the filming of Seasons 3 and 4 pretty much overlapped, but I had no clue they'd be delivering these episodes as soon as January!
