    "The Sylvester Stallone Podcast"

true... I was trying to figure out if it was a bit or not and I guess that's why I still enjoyed it. the Morgan Walsh section was much better, but for some reason I found myself laughing throughout the entire show. Deanna Raphael is hilarious, but I couldn't help but hear a little bit of June every time she was on mic... since their voices sound similar and they are both masters in the art of polite sarcasm.

    "The Sylvester Stallone Podcast"

I devoted my entire Tuesday to checking out all the new shows and I would say my three favorites (aside from I Was There Too, of course) were Reading Aloud, OMFG and The Canon. Picking Favorites was surprisingly enjoyable considering I wasn't familiar with any of the hosts. Maltin on Movies, despite being a little stilted seeing as Leonard and Baron admittedly don't know each other very well, was a fun listen. Crybabies is a great concept for a show, but sadly the first episode suffered from similar issues due to Christopher Guest being extremely obtuse for no apparent reason (I've never seen or heard his interviews before... maybe being needlessly awkward is his thing, but it was still a little jarring at times). I found the Denzel show pretty funny since I love W. Kamau Bell, but I'm really not a massive Denzel fan so some of it went over my head. in my opinion, they're all worth checking out if you have an ungodly amount of time to spend listening to podcasts like I do. oh and episode 2 and 3 of Sly are up... they aren't showing on the main site as far as I can tell, but they're there if you check the show page or soundcloud.

Episode 205 — The Beetlejuice Watchers

I had a strange bit of chartronicity while I was listening on my way home from work... the literal second the words "Overland Park, Kansas" were said, I looked up from my steering wheel to see a Kansas license plate with Overland Park written on its frame. needless to say, I was pretty overwhelmed and slightly creeped out by the chances of that happening (considering I live in the middle of Texas) aside from all that, this was a truly excellent episode. it was very touching when Hank was talking about his extremely progressive 7-year-old son listening to summah albums... I can't imagine how good that must have made Howard and Stard feel.

    Episode 49 — Topicon

I would have given an arm, a leg and my firstborn to see Michael get down on some Boz Scaggs. hopefully they spring to get the propane tanks filled for Topicon 2015... but Bill Brrrrrrr is supposed to be there so I won't count on it.

Episode 202 — Past Life Regression

I lost my shit when he visualized the park ranger in the desert... also Dannah's foley work in this episode was remarkable. on the subject of bicycles, tricycles and menstrual cycles, I think I found a product that Bob and Persephone could get behind: http://totalwomenscycling.com/lifestyle/cycling-during-your-period-2049/#

    How Sponsors Sound...

you forgot to mention the part where you fast forward too far and have to rewind... and then fast forward again and rewind again, etc. I won't get on a high horse and say I always listen to the ads or anything and I've honestly never tried any service that sponsors podcasts... but that being said, lots of the ads are actually pretty hilarious when the reader of the copy gets creative (especially Duncan Trussell's psychedelic rants or Sean and Hayes' extreme indignation with Cards Against Humanity) sometimes they can actually be informational though... especially in the case of learning about Wolfpop's existence today on HH.

wow, I didn't even consider that being a reference to UTU2TM when he said it... so "THAT'S A GOOD POINT."

    Episode 320 — Charging Kids

I can't tell if I'm disappointed or impressed that Scott didn't talk U2 to us even though they came up several times...

Episode 319 — Return to Suicide House Part Gore

nice, "I Cum Blood" is one of my favorite Cannibal Corpse songs. this was a very creepy episode, but by far the creepiest moment was when Scott asked the 14-year-old backup singer if she was shaved.... enough to make Jon audibly cringe anyway. but he's right, you never know nowadays. also, I honestly can't think of a better venue for Ghost Boy to be extremely racist than a rap battle... but holy shit, Scott's Mind Games breakdown was a pretty satisfying callback.

    Episode 96 — Monkey Shines

not sure if anyone else here has the same refined juvenile tastes that I do when it comes to tv shows, but I just got around to watching the Halloween episode of Uncle Grandpa that aired last night and..... coincidence?!? definitely.

Episode 204 — High & Mighty For Smarties

it looks like if kids are indeed the Suge Knight of Halloween, our dear children will have some prison time to look forward to... http://www.cnn.com/2014/10/29/showbiz/suge-knight-katt-williams-arrested/index.html

    Episode 96 — Monkey Shines

YES! I definitely wrote that down as well, just forgot to put it in my above post. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that a lot of the dialogue in this movie, though delivered dramatically, is seriously great comedy writing.

Episode 204 — High & Mighty For Smarties

Howard completely overlooked a joke when he was talking about Monster Mash.... COMEDY GHOULD! I'm greatly disappointed in his hesitance to make awful Halloween puns.

    Episode 96 — Monkey Shines

a couple thoughts, not exactly corrections and omissions... this was the first movie I actually took notes during. - at the very beginning, I noticed that over the intercom at the hospital they said "Dr. (something)... Dr. Dennis (something)" who in the fuck is that specific about a doctor's name over an intercom? especially considering this Dr. (something) wasn't a character in the movie whatsoever. - Tucch "prescribes" Allan with a double Scotch, but chances are he's heavily medicated since he's just been released from the hospital. in my expert medical opinion, it's probably not smart to mix that with a large amount of alcohol... - did anyone else think the first scene with Melanie was a little strange? she was sitting in the wheelchair and, although she was using her arms, I was under the impression that this new character was disabled in some way... aaaaand cue swelling of music as she leaps from the chair. not sure if that was intentional, but it made me laugh nonetheless. - "a cripple joke! ... he made a cripple joke! he's cured, huh?" *slaps nurse's ass* - what was with the patronizing applause from his classmates when he answered the question right?! especially considering they all were raising their hands so the answer was obviously common knowledge. these people are supposed to be fucking law students... - I don't remember them discussing the scene where Ella didn't call Geoff because he was already in the room, which I thought to be one of the more interesting scenes of the movie. although later, he had to use the laser pointer to direct her who to call... perhaps just for effect? or just an excuse for the laser pointer to exist in the first place since it's been established that he can communicate with her by just using words. - my favorite absurd exchange in the movie: "Ella's not in here with you is she?" "No." *closes door* "......... I don't think so." - the unnecessary callback to Geoff's door not being able to close was pretty hilarious

    Episode 96 — Monkey Shines

his slime monologue being delivered like a Brett Gelman character was spot on. speaking of comedians, did anyone else think the surgeon they got a second opinion from (cue second opinion song) looked a lot like an age-ravaged Marc Maron? POW! you just shit your pants.

    Episode 318 — Lumber Hack

I think I might take Matt up on that blowjob offer... I'm broke and I've been dying to see season 3 of UCB in better quality. or maybe he'd prefer to watch me pour lukewarm gravy on my nipples...

    Episode 157 — IQ of a Corpse

as I always understood it, the chance to be on the show for case closed has always been wide open... so I don't think you'd have to "rile him up" much. Matt has said several times that he wishes more people would step up to debate so it could inspire some improv, but not many are up to the challenge... as they tend to immediately concede their points while they just let whoever's on the show eviscerate them. I wish I had that strong of an opinion on anything that would be antithetical to his or anyone else's views... because case closed sounds like it would be really fun to participate in. Gemberling's beastiality debate remains one of the greatest things I've ever heard (and watched) on a podcast.

    Episode 27 — Jenji Kohan

in all fairness, there was a considerable buzz at the start of the episode. eventually the noise subsided or I got used to it, I can't remember which... but regardless, it wasn't at all persistent and it didn't really effect my listening experience beyond me just passively noticing it. this is coming from someone who has never maligned the live episodes... in lots of cases I actually prefer them over the studio ones. I think a lot of people on these forums truly need to come to grips with the fact that the FREE service you are being provided with on a daily basis it isn't always going to be perfect. it just gets on my nerves that this amazing podcast has just returned from a very long hiatus and the only comments so far are about how it could be better.

    Episode 203.5 — 10/24/14 TWO CHARTED 142

I definitely share Stard's sentiments on Babar... and to a lesser degree, I also agree with Howard that Winnie the Pooh should grow a pair. for me, the most compelling characters were the secondary ones... even though Piglet and Eeyore had similar problems with confidence, they still seemed to interest me more than Pooh ever did. as with Babar, I also had a contentious relationship with Kipper, the British tv show about a similarly "fey-in-the-pants" dog (although it might be a little after their time to have been brought up). I remember the show being very relaxing to watch, but I have a vague memory of him being unrealistically good-natured and it could only keep my interest for so long before I needed something a little darker. regardless, that part of the episode made me very nostalgic and BITCH YOU GUESSED IT.

Episode 203 — Who Charted at LA PODFEST!!!

"what about some Smashing Pumpkins Poppers...?" "...nah, I don't want those." the Shred-staurant bit was the GREAAATEST bit I've ever known.

Episode 203 — Who Charted at LA PODFEST!!!

Howard's mention of Celtic Frost made me extremely happy... even if it was in the same sentence as the Frozen soundtrack. he should make a black metal album... after making a math rock one, of course. I'm sure Stard could lend his metal fingers (not an MF DOOM reference... maybe a Tony Iommi one) to such an undertaking... but honestly, I don't think he's ready to embody winter in that way.
  25. am I the only one who has had parts of Songs of Incontinence stuck in their head the past few weeks? these tunes are very effective earworms... the last couple days it's been Every Breaking Wave and Sleep Like a Baby Tonight on repeat. I've only listened to it about three times including the acoustic sessions, but it's already one of my favorite albums of the year by far... and I honestly wouldn't even consider myself that big of a U2 fan. I want to thank.... Scott.... and I want to thank.... Scott... for creating this podcast and talking so much U2 to me because I probably wouldn't have given this album a chance if not for them.
