Episode 145 - Whitmer Thomas and Clay Tatum, Our Friends From School
redhotbeef replied to agata's topic in Hollywood Handbook
This is maybe the stupid(b)est thing I've ever heard. C+ -
Episode 142 - The Great Debates, Our Close Friends
redhotbeef replied to agata's topic in Hollywood Handbook
Oh my god, Dilbert's Dad -
I'm going to say that IS an actual riddle.

Hey now that we're checking facts, anything I got right was a serious point and anything I got wrong was obviously a joke. Come on, you sillies!

True!* *Other than Erinn Hayes, Cameron Esposito, Kathy Foster, Mandell Maughan, Tawny Newsome, Jillian Bell, Charlotte Newhouse, Jessica Jean Jardine, Betsy Sodaro, Gillian Jacobs, Samantha Bee, Jessica St. Clair, Whitney Cummings, and Mary Holland all appearing so far in 2016. It was good timing to point this out on the only ever CBB anniversary show to not include a female guest. How far we've fallen! C+

Haven't finished the ep but I wonder if anyone will realize that they are referencing the wrong celebrity assassin.

Episode 123 - Kulap Vilaysack, Our Close Fiend
redhotbeef replied to agata's topic in Hollywood Handbook
Great ep! I love any time an engineer gets some good content going. Sam queueing up the YITR theme, stopping two words in when he forgets the concept, then continuing to get it wrong might be my favorite engineer content ever. C+ -

I believe his point is that this thread topic is a specific episode of a specific podcast. It seemed strange to discuss a different episode of a different podcast a propos of nothing. C+ Edit: And so what if I have farts of a certain age!

Considering he also replied to his own comment with a ridiculous tag, it's possible that Mr. ThunderBusiness is having an Ep of his own.

My new favorite low key joke might be Scott complaining that Canada is hard to get into and Jeselnik recommending that he start with their early stuff.

Great ep! Was stoked for the lineup and everyone delivered. Also I hope we get more mentions of foams and corners whenever possible. C+

What do you feel should be the rules for joking about tragedies? Is there a time limit, and distance limit, or should we all just avoid things that you personally care about?

Why did they change the theme song?
redhotbeef replied to Ribelin2000's topic in How Did This Get Made?
I find it a little frustrating how long the front end of the show is with ads, plugs, and a 60sec theme song. I don't think any other earwolf podcast regularly takes more than 5 minutes to get through the ads and theme song, but the last few HDTGM definitely have. C+ -
Episode 1704 - Larry Miller
redhotbeef replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Never Not Funny: The Jimmy Pardo Podcast
Sad to say I found this interminably boring. I really enjoyed the Richard Lewis episode and am generally game for listening to old greats ramble on mic, but there was just so little payoff or humor to it. And unfortunately the guys were too respectful and reverential to bust his balls about it, not that I blame them. C+ Edit: I was very entertained that Larry now sounds similar to one Robert Parsimony who I'm quite fond of, so that's fun! -
EPISODE 8 - Scott Aukerman, Brian Huskey, Michaela Watkins: LIVE from UCB-Sunset
redhotbeef replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Womp It Up!
Huskey swinging for the fences from the jump! Didn't over play the shock humor but definitely got some hilariously conflicted responses from the audience. -

EPISODE 364 — The Marm of Smarm Returns
redhotbeef replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
You can ask the HH theme itself why I'm not marrying it. Be warned, I may soon close the floor to questions without warning! -
Meteoric rise! Thanks engineer cody-whoever!

EPISODE 364 — The Marm of Smarm Returns
redhotbeef replied to JulyDiaz's topic in Comedy Bang Bang
I know you're all just being polite, but really I don't mind fielding some questions about that dope plugs theme. Yes that's my real voice. OK I have time for two more. -
Gabrus kills it, so fast and funny! How has no one mentioned "Checkmark?" C+

Episode 1 - Kattany and Zooey
redhotbeef replied to JulyDiaz's topic in The Hooray Show with Horatio
Good ep! I like the ambiguous structure, makes for a kind of disorienting first listen. Great mix of formats and bit lengths! -
At the end of the ep Howard definitely accidentally leaked Summahtology as the next album in the Have a Summah series.

Episode 66 — Paul F. Tompkins Again, Our Close Friend
redhotbeef replied to agata's topic in Hollywood Handbook
Wowzers! I got burnt out on this show a few months ago, I blame myself for binge listening too hard. Got pulled back in by the CBB ad and reflexively listening to any show with PFT. GREAT EP! Loved that the theme song convos both just wandered until they found the big game of it. And Paul F. Greatest played to their vibe like a pro. -
Howard was on fire with this one, he and Ku have some of the best chemistry in the podcast universe. I think it's time for a recurring Shark Tank segment called either Chart Tank or Stard Tank.
