F*ck you guys for making us choose. Also, porn star to actress: Tracy Lords in Cry Baby and then at least two other shitty made-for-cable movies.

Episode 126 - How NASA Was Born Out of Magic Loving, Orgy Having Nerds

Not as impressive an episode as the title implies. I'd have loved to hear a scientist or an engineer on here to discuss some of these things, if only to counterballance the magic stuff. That guy claims to have watched his gf shapeshift?!? Getthefuckoutofherewiththatbullshit. -
Also - Devin is simply wrong about Dope.

"2 Fast, 2 Furious is Singleton's best film" had me chortling all afternoon! Boyz N the Hood is a yes, simply due to the time in which it was released and what impact it had on the culture at the time. It is not great, for sure. But fuck it, you say the name and EVERYONE knows what you're talking about. That alone is enough to have it canonized.

I vote yes. I am an alcoholic in recovery. I watched this movie early in my recovery and agree w/ many of the comments regarding the horror feel and especially the self loathing (as well as the duplicitousness of the main character and the ambiguity around just how "great" the guy is).

No. Don't put Lolita in the Canon. You guys cleared up some of my confusion about Peter Sellers in this movie - I just assumed he was playing multiple characters, like Meg Ryan in Joe v the Volcano or something. Either way it's poor since either way it makes zero sense. However I suspect some of the letting Sellers just go wild in this movie was the timing of its release since he was a pretty big deal at the time. Like just letting Will Ferrell do whatever he wants 6 years ago...

I always thought "Monkey Shines" was loosely affiliated with that book of Steven King short stories Skeleton Crew, even though none of the short stories were anything like this movie. (I guess it was because of the toy monkey on the cover of both - hey, I was a little kid!) Also, I saw this movie in the theater when it came out, it was my first experience being the only person in a movie theater. It did not make the movie scarier. Not at all.
