    Episode 159 - Sleepwalkers

I never followed Star Trek, but I was surprised to make this connection:

This served as a reminder of what a gigantic piece of shit Tiptoes was.

    Episode 159 - Sleepwalkers

To be fair, Boadicea was released in 1987 so there's still a decent possibility that Wyclef wasn't inspired by Sleepwalkers.

    Musical Mondays-Week 8-Rent

Whoa whoa whoa, I didn't mean to throw everyone off track here. I was just riffing on Fister's "pretentiousness" comment. Back to the subject of hand:

    Musical Mondays-Week 8-Rent

I remember hearing that Rakoff interview (on TAL, presumably). It was a great interview -- really resonated with me. I rolled with a more bohemian crowd when I was younger but I always had my eyes on the prize (e.g. a career, family, etc.). What I'm saying is, Chris McDonald would play me in a movie.

    Episode 158.5 - Minisode 158.5

Kind of disappointed in Glenn Shadix's character, to be honest.

I love that Santo and Johnny song and I'm going to be pissed at this movie for ruining it.

    Episode 157.5 - Minisode 157.5

This is one of those things where getting old helps. Pretty much any popular music from your teenage years that does not enjoy enduring popularity.

Episode 158 - Body Parts: LIVE!

I watched Memento years ago in college. I saw it at the theater, with no idea about what the movie was about, and with low expectations ("It's about a guy who loses his memory"). I honestly thought I was being dragged to watch a knockoff of Regarding Henry. Anyways, that movie blew my mind, and despite its low re-watchability, it remains my favorite Nolan film. Walking out of the theater, my friends and I talked about it for hours. This was a much more interesting experience than the time those same friends dragged me to feardotcom.

Look at you nerds, geeking out over the Marvel Comics Universe. Everyone knows that House Highgarden is a paper tiger.

Episode 158 - Body Parts: LIVE!

Pretty much applied to every University library. Probably most believable in the case of Geisel (UC San Diego).

Episode 158 - Body Parts: LIVE!

Did anyone catch the names that Remo Lacey reeled off while talking about Dr. Webb's genius? Charles Darwin Edward Hopper Richard Wright (at least by my hearing).

I thought the title applies to guests who have been on previously? Maybe I missed an episode.

    The Producers

I've been thinking about some of the producers (and production companies) who have been featured repeatedly in the podcast. Many of the movies are just one-off duds produced by companies with an otherwise good track record. But some producers just back terrible product. Obviously there's Cannon (Golan/Globus, particularly), but also Donald De Line (Burlesque, Green Lantern), and Asylum/David Michael Latt (Sharknado). The "bad producers" tend to have low/medium budgets in common, but not all low budget studios generate crap product. Blumhouse gave us "Boy Next Door" but also has two of the better/more successful movies of the year right now. Besides, De Line proves that money doesn't save a bad project. Obviously money helps, but some production companies just seem to have a knack for garbage. So my question is, which of these producers/companies haven't gotten their due from HDTGM yet? I'll go with Sidney J. Furie, who has an almost Golan/Globus track record (Superman IV, the Iron Eagle Franchise, and "The Dependables" -- you can guess what that's a knockoff of).
