Reporters can't keep straight face when talking about men who are too afraid of bees to sit on their porch all day every day. The soundbites from the men and reporters laughing at the are priceless. -
Your utopian views aside I just don't think we need another thread that devolves into the TPK/Blaine's campaign discussion.
-
If you listen closely to this episode, there's an easter egg where Brian reveals "Judas" is actually Ayn Rand.
-
Unfortunately a thread like this will only attract contrarians, because internet.

"Don't these guys notice me following them? I've literally been here the entire time.", Exposition-o the Elf thought to herself. "Fuck it, I'ma just walk out there and lay down some backstory - wait, are they really talking about a guy with a three foot dick? What are all those beep noises? On second thought screw this. These guys have issues."

I'd love him to come out to the coast, we'd have a good time. -

That flag system could lead to a real tragedy if it was implemented near a semaphore meetup. -
The lack of plot used to bother me, but until one kicks in I'm enjoying these episodes as a type of Seinfeld D&D. The characters are the fun part, whatever they might be doing is not as important. When Nerd Poker first started a weekly D&D podcast that didn't sound like it was recorded in a bus station bathroom was a rare thing indeed, but now there are a lot of other viable options for plot-driven actual play shows when I need that fix. But sometimes motherfuckers just wanna pierce nutsacks and trace dicks.

Hearing Phish never fails to bring a smile to my face, because I always imagine Dave Mustaine or Glenn Danzig crashing the stage and pissing on their legs or something happy like that.

Fear not kind sir. Once Steve gets back, I'm certain we'll return to the refined elegance of tracing the genitals of fallen foes into a scrapbook, as Dag continues the tradition of called scrotum attacks in the background. (Extends pinky, sips Earl Grey)

Ironically, that's how they discover Dan's new character. Something makes a noise in the bushes and they just start fucking it. Granted it's not your normal D&D character introduction, but they do form a meaningful bond right away.
-
Oh, I had something I wanted to ask Dan. Do you guys often suffer the sarcastic wrath of your comedian friends for playing D&D? Sometimes I imagine someone like Bill Burr sitting in on a Nerd Poker session and just being relentless.

Next week Steve returns and finds "-3 to Rectal Elasticity" on his character sheet, just shrugs it off.

Nice try, Rick.

Here are 3 things I thought were going to happen while listening to this that did not happen: 1. Brian dies by falling (again) 2. New Dan character revealed as sentient cave Cookie Monster 3. Blue giants driving fast/weird loud noise leads to a Doc Brown time travel scenario that leads the party to a new place and/or story #2 would have been incredible
-
I feel like the blue giant caravan and later the blue giant city were definitely fighting Lyrathing. Good thing they didn't investigate, huh!?
-
Steve's debut of the creepy Winter voice. Look at his butthole. It's like a cat's.

I've been trying to deduce what Dan might roll. I'm going with Half-Orc cleric. Never had a half-orc on the show, and heals are always welcome. Maybe they'll find him in a giant's cage. I'm probably completely wrong on all counts.

A few times I have found myself wondering if Brian is an all-day eater or just likes to nom during recording. Judging by the menu, that room must be pretty funky by the time you guys record the second episode of a session. #Arbys

What if Richard Mulligan was a ghost the whole time...

I hope the Blue City is actually full of Smurfs, and that Dan's new character is a monk who smokes opium, and that together they start a Ministry cover band called Garry Shambling & The Melee Wizards. I drank a lot of cough syrup awhile ago.

The Adventure Zone is awesome. They only release a new episode every two weeks, but they're only 6 episodes in as of now and just wrapped up the 5E starter set Lost Mines of Phandelver, about to launch into a homemade campaign. It's 3 brothers and their father, and they're all funny as hell and roleplay the hell out of their characters in hilarious ways. As for D&D With STS, I have been loving that show and their other podcasts/youtube reviews since it was first mentioned on this thread! They are literally laugh out loud funny to me, and the DM Boss does a great job progressing his story along. Five fuckin' stars.
