    EPISODE 342 — A Silicon Valley P-Cast

Middleditch fits so perfectly into the CBB improv style I'm actually kind of upset about the 341 episodes he didn't have the opportunity to be on. Here's hoping he becomes a regular.

    EPISODE 342 — A Silicon Valley P-Cast

Every week I keep hoping for the Hayes and Sean episode and every week it doesn't exist yet
  3. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thought of Lapkus/Regina re: that joke on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt involving a certain theme song. Parallel thinking or influence?
  4. The first segment was incredibly funny, one of my favorite Earwolf things ever. It goes a bit off the rails subsequently but in a fun/insane way. Scott is genuinely a pretty great improviser at this point, even outside of his usual host persona.
  5. Oh also I listened to this episode while I was doing jury duty. Has anyone else spent their jury duty waiting time with Hayes and Sean?
  6. Yes this episode had the best engineer drubbing since Brett tried to take over the Teaser Freezer, but let's not forget how funny the Good Will Hunting bit was. I'm not sure why comedians are so drawn to making fun of Good Will Hunting but it's always gold (e.g. PFT as Werner Herzog making a sequel where Good Will Hunting uses his skills as both a math genius and a janitor... sorry to mention the other show). Anyway, I wonder if we'll ever find out who was really being Good Will Hunting. I think maybe it was that hard math problem he could do.

    EPISODE 339 — LIVE from SXSW 2015

Last week: one of the all-time great CBB episodes This week: ...something else

EPISODE 338 — Be My Guest, Literally

I don't make a point of watching it but whenever I've come across one of the interviews (usually via the youtube sidebar after watching some other PFT content) I'm struck by how he is roughly one zillion percent better at interviewing than Marc Maron. He's a thoughtful, engaged, prepared interviewer, three things that don't describe Maron's approach.
  9. How did Kumail get his role on Silicone Valley when he doesn't even know what computers is?
  10. I naively allowed myself to hope that I might get the pro version this week but I guess I haven't paid my dues yet. Does anyone want to start a feud with me to increase my visibility on the forum? Hayes followed me on twitter today, so I think I'm making inroads.
  11. The first Teaser Freezer with Gordon Joseph-Levitt's "Don Jon" way back in episode 1 is what sold me on the show. I think it's still one of the funniest things they've done. I'm not sure how well the Jake Johnson interview would hold up if I re-listened now, but if nothing else it has the origin of "Mimby"

EPISODE 338 — Be My Guest, Literally

Being somewhat conversant in international cinema I was kinda cringing during the Name French Actors game (no one knows Juliette Binoche or Isabelle Huppert, even?) but it was redeemed by "French Stewart"

EPISODE 338 — Be My Guest, Literally

Shout-out to Michael for handling himself gracefully and funnily. I wish it didn't take a big-money donor to get PFT and Daly (and Lapkus) on the same episode, though. PFT and Daly are so great when they team up -- remember Dalton Wilcox's literary agent? Would be great to have more heavy hitters together more often! Can't argue with the results here.

EPISODE 338 — Be My Guest, Literally

I can't deal with this, I don't deserve something as wonderful as this episode. Also want to point out that the guys helping read the ads were funny and nice and smart and good. PFT Santa should be an annual tradition but in March instead of December. The fact that he and Ho Ho were on this completely non-seasonal episode made them that much funnier.
  16. Earwolf doesn't let you delete posts?
  17. Maybe American Diaper meant the popcorn gallery theme is "bad" in the old slang sense where bad means "good." Then he would be saying that the popcorn gallery theme is good. It's possible this was all a misunderstanding. The popcorn gallery theme is objectively good because it is helping Hayes and Sean's guests understand the segment because otherwise they would never fucking get it.
  18. As one of the newer posters here I would like to swoop in and ride the wave of this resentment for American Diaper by positioning myself as the benevolent yin to his malicious yang. American Diaper, how dare you
  19. Unrelated to this episode but can I just share that my favorite one-off HH bit was when they kept yelling "yeah right" at Pete Holmes about how he wasn't afraid of skellingtons. Part of me wishes they would bring that back but part of me wants it to live on as a special singular moment. For some reason nothing makes me laugh more than thinking about Sean saying "Sorry, but that's a yeah right"
  20. Hayes sound like he have a cold this week, but on the other hand I finally figured out the name of the sponsor is "Loot Crate" and not "Lucrate." Enunciation isn't our boys' strong suit.
  21. They didn't even realize that the lady who sounded mad to win a award won it for Engineer Cody Boy.
  22. This is upsetting. I don't want the show to broaden its appeal by slowing down on the endless self-referentiality. Or to broaden its appeal in any other way.

EPISODE 337 — The Ying and the Yankovic

Such a missed opportunity that Scott didn't ask Al how he first heard of U2. I like to think he would have if the conversation hadn't taken a turn elsewhere.
  24. I googled "what if there were spiders in here" and found this paragraph from a Harlequin romance novel called A Match for Celia. The author makes a good point: mice is scary.
  25. OH MY GOD I'M FINALLY CAUGHT UP I love this show so much but I felt like I couldn't post in the forum until I got all the way caught up. I listened to all 72 episodes in less than two months. This show is the funniest thing in the world. Don't tell Scott Anchorman but I even like it more than the show with the riddle game even though my username is a Scott Anchorman reference.
